Just as Chi An had expected, when the alarm he had set for nine went off and he made a special trip downstairs to look around, not a single person was up.
After confirming that, he returned to his room to keep sleeping. He woke again at ten. Auntie was already preparing ingredients in the kitchen, and after greeting Chi An, she lowered her head and went back to her work.
Chi An asked, "Has anyone come downstairs in the meantime?"
"No. One gentleman brought Crown Prince downstairs. I don't know him, but from the look of him, he probably wasn't fully awake yet," Auntie answered after thinking back for a moment.
Chi An said, "All right. If no one's downstairs by eleven, hold off on making lunch. If someone gets up by eleven thirty, you can get started then.
"There are nine people in total. They won't eat much just after waking up, so you don't need to make too much. Prepare some extra fruit."
"Yes, sir."
Having settled lunch, Chi An was about to return to his room to rest some more when he remembered the list from yesterday. He stopped and asked, "Oh, right. Is everything I asked you to buy yesterday ready?"
Auntie said, "It's on the way. Since you said you wanted to prepare a surprise, I didn't have them deliver it straight to the estate. I planned to have them bring it here first so I could prep the ingredients ahead of time."
Chi An nodded and headed upstairs without saying anything else.
Only after he walked into the room did he notice Fu Yanci leaning against the headboard, looking at his phone. Seeing Chi An come in, he put his phone on the nightstand and opened his arms. "Wifey, give me a hug."
