Clark grunted, feeling a swollen, stabbing pain in his eyes.
"Don't panic! Rein in your emotions!"
Solomon pressed both hands over Clark's eyelids. Feeling the scorching energy still surging wildly beneath his palms, he said steadily:
"You're treating it like a flood bursting through a dam, but it's actually part of your body! Don't think about blocking it. Think about absorbing it. Feel the heat in your optic nerves and draw that active energy back into your cells, just like tightening a muscle. Breathe deeply, control the valve, and close it little by little!"
Under Solomon's calm guidance, Clark's erratic breathing gradually steadied.
Following Solomon's instructions, he stopped fighting it with brute force and instead tried to accept and guide it.
Gradually, Solomon felt the burning beneath his palms begin to fade. The red glow that seemed about to burn straight through Clark's eyelids finally died away completely.
Solomon slowly withdrew his hands and took a step back.
Clark panted heavily and slowly opened his eyes.
