Dick found the Worldstone and used his power to revive the weakened Titans trapped within it, while Tyrael and the heroes of Sanctuary tried to stop him. Dick declared the Pantheon rebuilt and the Burning Hell and High Heavens part of Azeroth, then departed with the Worldstone as the story left open the threat of Sargeras and the Shadowlands.
A Night Elf rogue traveling through the Eastern Plaguelands reflected on the land’s ruin and her dangerous years as a mercenary. She spotted an old man beside the poisoned Thondroril River and went to see if he needed help.
A Night Elf traveler met the retired paladin Tirion Fordring in the Eastern Plaguelands and agreed to recover his lost War Banner at Zul'Mashar. Tirion began explaining his past, leaving his story on the eve of his encounter with Cuiyige.
Old Tirion Fordring recounted how Cuiyige, an Orc he had once fought and befriended, was captured and condemned despite Tirion’s defense. After choosing truth at his trial and losing his Holy Light powers, Tirion tried to rescue Cuiyige from execution but failed as the flames consumed him.
Tirion Fordring explained how Thrall rescued Cuiyige, how the Holy Light returned to him, and why he wanted to save his son Taelan from the Scarlet Crusade. The narrator recovered Tirion’s Warhammer, War Banner, and family painting from Stratholme, then discovered a box of valuable Crusader Orbs.
The narrator delivered Tirion Fordring’s keepsakes and letter to Taelan, who learned his father was alive and chose to leave Hearthglen to meet him. As Taelan and the narrator escaped the Scarlet Crusade’s base, Examiner Isillien confronted them.
The narrator fought Isillien’s Scarlet officers to protect Taelan, who challenged Isillien over his father’s fate. Just as Isillien prepared to kill Taelan, Tirion arrived and rescued his son, while the gravely wounded narrator drifted toward unconsciousness.
Rikaode returned to Auberdine after his adventures and, now too weak to fight, built a comfortable life with his sister Daisi and opened a tavern called Love and Family. He ended the evening telling children stories of his travels, content to live as a brother, tavern owner, and storyteller.
