Dick sought the Aegis of Aggramar and gathered allies to rescue Anveena and defeat Helya, while Anduin escaped captivity and helped free Anveena. Helya died after learning the truth about Odyn, and Dick turned toward the war against the undead in Northrend.

• Dick destroyed the Tomb of the First Kings, but Helya abducted Anduin and Anveena and fled into the Shadowlands.
• Dick pursued Helya, killed Garm, and escaped the Shadowlands after the realm suppressed his powers.
• Dick asked Odyn for the Aegis of Aggramar, and Odyn agreed after requiring him to find another World Pillar for the Valarjar.
• Anduin escaped his cage with Harvey, but a sea monster dragged Harvey away, and Anduin later joined Dick’s effort to rescue Anveena.
• Dick led allied forces to conquer Suramar, and Odyn gave him the Aegis before sending Heimdall and Eir to aid the attack on Ulduar.
• Dick and his allies fought Helya in the Shadowlands while Anduin and Anveena broke the crystal orb holding her captive.
• Dick and Anveena merged into a silver-winged being that defeated Helya, who destroyed herself after learning the truth about Odyn and the Pantheon.
• Helya’s death opened the Shadowlands to the dead, and Dick recognized that the campaign against the undead had begun as his allies attacked Ahn'Qiraj and Naxxanar.

The Lich King awakened and launched a broad offensive across Northrend as Dick and the allied forces prepared campaigns against the Scourge and Ulduar. The arc ended with Dick identifying Yogg Stormheart as Muradin Bronzebeard, bringing Magni and Brann to Frosthold to meet him.

• Vaelastrasz invited Dick to Wyrmrest Temple, where Alexstrasza proposed that the dragons fight the Scourge in Dragonblight, and Malygos learned that blue dragons and eggs remained in Azsuna.
• Arthas awakened as the Lich King, empowered Renault Mograine as the Deathbringer, and called the Scourge and its allies to war.
• Dick and Heimdall led the Spirit Legion into battle in the Storm Peaks, where Dick wounded Thorim and reinforcements helped secure the Portal.
• Garrosh, Dranosh, Jorin, and Saurfang captured Ymiron's platform, while Senxia's expedition recovered Arthas's warhammer and Dick decided to forge Shadowmourne.
• The Alliance and Horde fought the Scourge across Northrend as Maraad's Draenei drove Anub'arak away and Uther's Ebon Blade defeated Drakuru and destroyed Scourge necropolises in Zul'Drak.
• Baron, Maximillian, and Marcus defeated enemies at Galakrond's Tomb and earned a recommendation for “Breaking the Ice.”
• Dick stopped Yogg Stormheart from fighting the Earthen, identified him as Muradin Bronzebeard, and promised to send people to meet him.
• Brann and Magni traveled in disguise to Frosthold, where Yogg recognized them and they recognized him as Muradin.

Dick and the Alliance and Horde prepared for war against Arthas, rescuing the bear gods and surviving a Scourge assault on Wyrmrest Temple and Angrathar. As the armies regrouped, Dick forged Shadowmourne, Tirion mastered it, and the campaign against Arthas’s forces continued at Lightning Ledge.

• Dick treated Muradin, who recovered his memories and showed him a secret passage through Echo Valley toward Icecrown Citadel.
• Dick freed Ursol from corruption, defeated the corrupted Ursoc, and discovered Arcturis sleeping inside a crystal.
• At Wyrmrest Temple, Garrosh and the other contestants passed trials against dragons and Valarjar spirits before Arthas and the Scourge attacked.
• Dick fought Arthas, then joined the defense at Angrathar, where he and Velen carved through the gate and helped drive back the Scourge.
• Saurfang sent Garrosh, Dranosh, and Jorin on a confidential mission, while Dick and Muradin completed Shadow’s Edge and Dick transformed it into Shadowmourne.
• Tirion Fordring took up Shadowmourne and subdued its spirit, while Hemet Nesingwary and Hemet II began a coordinated hunt against the undead.
• Dick led Tirion, Mograine, and Uther to attack the undead Bone Behemoth operation at Lightning Ledge, where Tirion faced Valanar.
• Tirion defeated Valanar with Shadowmourne and Holy Light, promised to bury him beside Vanessa, and burned his remains and letter.

The Alliance and its allies launched a coordinated assault across Northrend, destroying Scourge strongholds and battling Arthas’s forces. After Dick opened the way into Icecrown Citadel, the assault team fought to clear the skies and bring down Sindragosa.

• Tirion Fordring, Lor'themar Theron, and Rogério Starseeker killed Anub'arak, while Dick destroyed a Twilight Cultist camp and challenged Yogg-Saron in Ahn'kahet.
• Dick found Anarell Menethil, the fragment of Arthas’s soul that held his kindness, and placed him in his lantern before heading toward Echo Valley.
• Gavincente Skovald killed Ymiron at Utgarde Keep, while Muradin led dwarves through Echo Valley and the Alliance began its counterattack at Angrathar.
• The Alliance broke through the Scourge defenses with Dalaran’s bombardment, while Mekkatorque’s Mana Bomb sealed Ymirheim’s exit and trapped the Vrykul army.
• Darion Mograine killed his brother Renault at the Shadow Vault but fell beside him, while Dranosh, Garrosh, and Plugger helped disable Odosa’s arcane node.
• Dick defeated his former teacher Korth'azz and destroyed Corp'rethar, while Muradin’s dwarves collapsed Echo Valley’s pass and Maraad destroyed Mord'rethar’s arcane rune.
• Dick used Anveena’s power to split Icecrown Citadel’s Saronite gates, allowing Tirion Fordring and the allied leaders to bring their elite army inside.
• Rexxar, Old Hemet, Rogério, and Hemet II brought Sindragosa down into Rexxar’s Dragonfire Trap, where platinum-white flames engulfed her.
