Personality

Itadori is compassionate but burdened by guilt. Although Sukuna committed the killings associated with his possession, Itadori regards them as his own sin. He initially hesitates when Lu You asks him to kill the higher-ups, and Lu You ultimately directs him to restrain them instead 64 65.

His concern for others remains stronger than his hostility toward enemies. He shields Higuruma from Sukuna’s slashes, evacuates him from Malevolent Shrine, and ultimately offers Sukuna another chance to live within his body without cursing others 74 82 83. Much later, Chen Duo perceives him as someone who carries everyone in the world in his heart 183.

He fears loneliness and dislikes the moment when friends disperse after a lively gathering. This makes him wonder whether Lu You suffers from his prolonged isolation 93. The older template’s response to Lu You dying surrounded by companions likewise reveals how deeply that ideal matters to Itadori 41.

Lu You’s First Template

Lu You’s first draw produces a purple-tier Yuji Itadori template aged 383. Its abilities form the foundation of Lu You’s campaign in the Demon Slayer world 1 2.

The template approves of protecting others, teaching responsibility, and preserving humanity amid violence 2 5 11. When Lu You kills Muzan and dies surrounded by his companions, Itadori’s response drives the final synchronization total to 180% 41.

Shibuya Incident

Itadori’s shouted announcement that Gojo has been sealed helps draw Lu You into the rescue effort 56. Sukuna later takes control of his body, but Gojo’s 0.2-second Unlimited Void stuns Sukuna and allows Itadori to regain control 62 63.

Afterward, the higher-ups sentence Itadori to immediate execution. He remains with Gojo and Lu You while Sukuna continues threatening them from inside his body 63.

Purge and Training

Itadori accompanies Lu You to the Tombs of the Star Corridor during the purge of the entrenched family factions. When Yuta Okkotsu intervenes, Lu You fights Yuta while Itadori confronts the higher-ups 65.

Lu You subsequently continues training him in Black Flash, Reverse Cursed Technique, and other abilities. Itadori resolves to become strong enough to stop Sukuna 67 68.

Sukuna’s Incarnation and Defeat

Kenjaku’s new Culling Game rules forcibly extract fifteen of Sukuna’s fingers from Itadori. Sukuna then incarnates separately at full twenty-finger strength 73.

Itadori fights alongside Higuruma and Choso but cannot overcome Sukuna’s initial advantage. Gojo arrives to protect them and engages Sukuna directly 74 75. Itadori later returns to the battle, evacuates the wounded Higuruma, and coordinates attacks with his teacher 81 82.

During the final assault, Itadori offers Sukuna a chance to return to his body and live alongside others. Sukuna refuses, and Itadori’s Black Flashes, combined with Gojo’s attacks, destroy him 83.

Life in the New World

Three years after Lu You establishes the New World, Itadori hunts cursed spirits with Choso and spends time with Megumi, Nobara, and their fellow sorcerers. Maki recognizes his continued growth 92.

As he becomes stronger, Itadori understands Yuta’s desire for a worthy opponent and considers that he may eventually want to challenge Lu You himself 93.

Later Years

During the Second Jujutsu World War, Itadori suppresses the barrier cities that instigate unrest. Yuta then transfers authority over all the New Worlds to him 96.

Nearly twenty years later, Itadori administers the New Worlds from the central tower. He learns that a spaceship carrying tens of thousands of life signs and a cursed-energy signature is approaching Earth 96.

In a later appearance, he meets Chen Duo after her passage through a formation that twists space and time. He introduces himself and asks where they have arrived 183.
