Nezuko nodded, then pointed in a direction.
Tanjiro hoisted the box onto his back and headed that way with Nezuko. After passing through a doorway and along a corridor, they arrived at a door.
Tanjiro looked at the door. "I've been here before, too. I opened every door in this courtyard, but there was nothing inside."
Nezuko pushed the two halves of the door apart and motioned for Tanjiro to enter. He had no choice but to follow her inside.
The room looked small, yet once they entered, it seemed to stretch deeper and deeper the farther they walked.
It seemed endless!
As Tanjiro walked, his brow suddenly creased.
Nezuko continued leading him forward, but the look in his eyes gradually changed as he watched her.
Suddenly, Tanjiro stopped. "Nezuko."
Nezuko stopped and turned to look at him, confusion in her eyes, as though she did not understand why he had stopped walking.
"There's something strange about your scent," Tanjiro said. "I somehow didn't notice it outside. But ever since we came in here, your scent has been getting stranger and stranger... You..."
Nezuko fell silent for a moment, then suddenly reached up and removed the bamboo tube from her mouth. "This place has a mysterious power that lets me temporarily become human again. That should be the only reason you're noticing a change in my scent, big brother."
