Sauron's eyes swept across the surrounding rock walls, and the crack slowly closed behind him.
The orcs were re-establishing themselves from their retreat and began to move materials and tools to their respective positions, causing the gravel and waste wood on both sides of the passage to be cleared one by one.
In the distance, more footsteps and metal collisions came from deep in the passage. The teams transporting weapons were walking along the passage to the designated storage area. Some of the larger orcs were carrying several crossbows that were far longer than ordinary infantry weapons.
On the ground, reconstruction work is still progressing in an orderly manner.
Douglas led the craftsmen to complete the preliminary surveying and mapping of the ruins. After delineating the scope of the main city, he began to arrange manpower to carry out basic cleaning of areas with high preservation value.
The bottom floors of the ruins that once held tall buildings are being turned over again. The volcanic ash and rubble that have been deposited for hundreds of years are being moved to designated storage areas, revealing the originally buried street outlines and building bases.
Craftsmen used sharpened crowbars to pry open the broken stones, classify and store the available stones, and mark the sections that needed to be removed and retained along the direction of the remaining walls.
Every day after the sun rises, the sound of stone chiselling and hammering will continue to be heard near the camp. Workers and slaves mingle together, carrying sand, wood, and stone back and forth along prescribed routes according to their respective divisions of labor, forming a steady flow.
The clouds above Valyria City are continuing to thin.
Occasionally, large rays of sunlight fall down from the gaps in the clouds, illuminating the outline of the square and high walls. When the light glides over the surface of the broken dragon head sculpture, the sculptures that were once covered with dark energy are re-revealing their original color and texture.
The rock surface reveals new light-colored sections through continuous weathering and natural erosion, like a layer of old skin covering the surface of the ruins that is peeling off layer by layer, with a drier and younger surface layer underneath.
The pressure hanging over this land is receding, and the plants that were once suppressed by Cursed Power are slowly returning to growth, with tiny, extremely light-colored shoots stretching out from the cracks in the dry soil, reappearing in places where there was once only ashes and scorched earth.
Redd stood at a high place, looking away from the ruins under construction and looking at the distant skyline shrouded in the shadow of the volcano.
He didn't know that deep in the ground beneath his feet, a rift leading to another world was forming. New forces were entering this land in ways he hadn't noticed yet, and were preparing to launch the next round of challenges to him in ways he didn't know yet.
He only knew that the wind was becoming moist, the air was becoming crisp, and the land under his feet was waking up from its slumber in a slow and steady way.
And deep in the ground the Rift and underground mines that he has not yet set foot on, a new storm is taking shape.
Sauron stood in the shadows, looking past the once glorious ancient city of Valyria, but now only ruins remain.
Although the main fleet of Redd has arrived, the legendary city is still in the devastated reconstruction stage. There are rolling boulders and blackened beams everywhere, which can neither provide sufficient material supplies nor facilitate the deployment of large formations.
Sauron's deep eyes finally did not look at the dead city, but towards the rough coastline in the distance - where there were bright lights and a lot of people.
The massive amounts of war materials that Redd worked so hard to transport from the other side of the ocean, as well as those formidable Demon Dragon, are living defenselessly in camps and ports on the seaside.
This is an obvious but fatal temptation.
Sauron knew very well that the destructive combat power displayed by those three Demon Dragons was no lie.
If he chooses to confront Redd at the beginning of the war, even if he assembles a large army, he will most likely suffer heavy losses from Demon Dragon's flame breath.
As a foresighted commander, Sauron will never attack rashly without a chance of winning.
His current strategy is clear: avoid its strengths and attack its weaknesses.
Before Redd's war potential is completely destroyed, he will never give the opponent a chance to launch a thunderous strike on this ruins.
"Since the city is empty, let's destroy his food, grass and wings first." Sauron sneered in his heart and immediately gave the order.
The earth began to tremble slightly, and countless rough and hard scales rubbed against the soil, making a tooth-aching sound.
They were swarms of ground snakes, like black hell drilling machines, silently digging wide tunnels underground.
Using the passages created by the earth snakes drilling holes in the ground, the orc army moved through the dark underground at high speed like a tide.
Out of sight on the surface, they quietly approached the seemingly peaceful seaside camp, preparing to bring Redd a nightmare rising from the soles of his feet.
When Redd saw the distress signal from the seaside camp, he immediately rode King Ghidorah back to the seaside camp from the ruins of Valyria city.
The sky has mostly darkened, and the light of Fourteen Flames reflects a large dark red afterglow at the bottom of the gray-white clouds.
King Ghidorah flies at a speed close to the speed of sound. The air along the way is compressed into a sonic boom wall that continues to spread outward, shaking the ground below into circles of fine dust rings.
The debris and ashes that had not been completely cleared outside the camp were picked up by the air currents, forming a continuously spreading dust mist, carrying sparks and hot debris and flying farther away.
Redd sat on the top of the middle head of King Ghidorah, leaning forward slightly, holding the bulge on the edge of the scales with one hand.
The air flow brought by this flight speed is enough to blow ordinary people away, but his body is strong enough to withstand this level of wind pressure. The wind blows across his face and the edge of his robe, pulling the hem of the cloak into a straight line that continues backwards, leaving a dark trace in the night.
He didn't need to look down at the firelight on the ground to tell that the camp was under attack, because the shape and density of the flames were completely different from the distribution when he arranged night lighting.
They are denser, more scattered, and brighter, with a sense of out-of-control chaos, and mixed with Dragonfire's unique tones that are completely different from other flames.
When King Ghidorah approached the camp, it began to reduce its speed, the angle of its wings spread increased, and it gradually changed from a high-speed sprinting gliding attitude to a hovering deceleration.
Redd straightened up from the dragon's back and scanned the camp below, and the picture gradually became clear.
Viewed from the air, the camp has been divided into several disconnected fragments.
Many sections of the wall were destroyed, and stones and rammed earth were scattered inside and outside the trench. Some sections were completely flattened, leaving only a dark mark on the ground that had been repeatedly stepped on.
