Background

Redd is a transmigrator brought into the world of Game of Thrones by a system. He takes over the body of an eleven-year-old boy also named Redd after its original owner dies of illness. The boy’s parents, descendants of Valyria’s Dragon King bloodline, had spent their lives hiding before likewise dying of illness 1.

His inherited appearance and ancestry make ordinary life dangerous. The original family had been pursued by slave-catching mercenaries, while nobles coveted the secret of Valyrian dragonriding. Redd initially knows little about the world’s original story and follows the system’s instruction to travel to the Valyria Ruins 1 47.

Appearance

  • Silver hair and purple eyes: Recognizable signs of his Valyrian ancestry. He conceals his hair beneath a hood in Volantis and lowers his gaze to make his eyes less noticeable 4 47.
  • Youthful build: Still slight and immature-looking after receiving Ghidorah’s power, despite his substantially increased strength 19.
  • Face and bearing: Described as somewhat pale and fine-featured, with a hardened bearing unusual for his age 47 50.
  • Travel clothing: Arrives in Volantis wearing ragged robes and carrying conspicuous weapons and a heavy shield 47.

Personality

Redd is ambitious and determined to turn inherited vulnerability into military strength. He pursues an adult dragon because returning to Essos without protection seems suicidal, then commits himself to gaining enough power to become a king. His frustration often emerges as sarcastic complaints and profanity directed at the system’s silence, restrictions, and initially meager rewards 2 3 4 14 20.

His caution competes with impatience and overconfidence. He initially respects Ehm’s warnings about nighttime hunting, but later disregards both adult dragons’ objections when food and evolution points become scarce. Believing he may possess unlimited life makes him exuberant enough to call the ancient Aegon “kid,” without noticing the dragon’s offense 10 24 27.

He treats his dragons as companions as well as sources of strength. He refuses to abandon the weakened Aegon and later spends nearly all his remaining energy healing both adult dragons. His inherited memories also give him a deep hatred of slave-catching mercenaries 29 46 47.

Abilities & Skills

Valyrian Dragonriding

Redd’s inherited bloodline allows him to establish connections with dragons and command them in Valyrian 9 10.

  • Bloodline bond: Forms a connection with Ehm when she accepts him, later gaining Aegon’s acceptance after removing his curse 9 21 22.
  • Emotional communication: Senses Ehm’s anxiety, intentions, and warnings; both adult dragons later communicate danger through their bloodline connections 10 27.
  • Aerial tactics: Directs Ehm to exploit flight, evade thrown rocks, and attack sandworms between their counterattacks 11 13.
  • Acceptance is not automatic: His first meeting with the old red dragon produces neither Ehm’s depth of connection nor a new pet-panel entry 12.

Dragon King’s Aura / King’s Might

His first shared power comes from the unhatched King Ghidorah. Later panels list the corresponding royal aura as King’s Majesty or King’s Might 2 16 22.

  • Can be freely controlled, with strength dependent on Ghidorah’s own power 2.
  • Immobilizes some creatures through fear and drives wild dogs away 2 5.
  • Keeps many ordinary magical creatures from approaching his sleeping place 4.
  • Fails against certain deformed creatures in Valyria; Redd discovers this limitation while trapped in a tree 7.

Shared Ghidorah Powers

Ability Documented effect or limitation
Gravity Beams Listed after Ghidorah hatches, but Redd initially cannot release them 16.
Storm Control Initially produces only a faint breeze over his palm 16.
Electric Current Manipulation Initially creates a brief numbing sensation rather than a substantial lightning discharge 16.
Hyper-Regeneration / Accelerated Regeneration Rapidly closes his self-inflicted palm wounds; one cut heals completely in under five minutes 18 21.
Physical enhancement Makes a heavy shield manageable in one hand and removes much of the strain of swinging his practice longsword 19.
  • These shared powers scale with King Ghidorah’s strength rather than immediately granting Redd an adult monster’s capabilities 16.
  • His later strength lets him carry a large provision sack one-handed and overwhelm many adult attackers, though weapons can still seriously injure him 48 50.

Curse-Breaking Blood

After learning that divine power or a powerful bloodline can remove the Resentment Curse, Redd tests his Ghidorah-enhanced blood on Ehm 17.

  • Oral treatment: Successfully removes the curse from Ehm and the old red dragon; later changes Aegon’s status from cursed to weakened 19 21 33.
  • Direct application: During the nighttime escape, forces his blood into a wound beneath Ehm’s scales. This initially stabilizes her, and her status is later confirmed as weakened rather than cursed 30 32.
  • Limited recovery: Removing a curse does not necessarily eliminate the resulting weakness 32 33.
  • Uncertain resistance: Redd remains personally uncursed despite repeated exposure, but initially lacks enough evidence to explain why 15 32.

Heat Resistance and Lifespan

  • Unburnt trait: His bloodline allows him to endure the extreme heat near the magma river while directing the dragons 31.
  • Not invulnerable: The boiling Smoking Sea and violent underwater currents leave him critically injured and unconscious 43 44.
  • Apparently unlimited lifespan: His expanded age entry reads “12 years (12-infinity).” Redd interprets this as immortality, but it does not establish immunity to injury or death 24 44.

System Functions

Function Use and restrictions
Personal and pet panels Display bloodlines, abilities, resources, and conditions such as cursed or weakened 16 32.
Energy collection Initially gathers magical energy from nearby deaths, including creatures killed by others 7.
Storage space Begins at 100 cubic meters, with an expansion option displayed 16.
Pet space Listed as unlimited in size, but only bonded pets may enter 16.
Evolution system Strengthens pets using evolution points. Ghidorah initially requires 10 points to advance; Aegon’s next-stage Titan evolution requires 10,000 17 23.
Biological scanning Unlocked when Ghidorah hatches 16.
Medical repair Added after the Smoking Sea disaster; consumes energy to treat Redd and his companions 44 46.
Automatic medical repair Repairs combat wounds almost immediately after he enables it before the forest battle 49 50.

Swordsmanship and Practical Knowledge

  • Practices downward cuts, straight thrusts, and upward slashes rather than elaborate techniques 13 14.
  • Uses a sword and shield together, taking advantage of trees, terrain, and defensive positioning against groups 7 50.
  • Learns basic magical runes from recovered books but cannot master the advanced spells he studies 36.
  • Uses maps, the sun’s position, and overheard political discussion to plan travel and estimate the historical period 46 48.

Equipment & Collected Items

  • Swords and daggers: Initially scavenges a short sword, two rusty longswords, and three daggers from a ruined palace. In Volantis, he carries a longsword and a dagger against each inner thigh 5 47.
  • Round shield: Part of his original scavenged equipment; a heavy shield remains central to his later fighting style 5 49 50.
  • King Ghidorah’s egg: His first quest reward and the key to a hidden stone door into Valyria; hatches after its energy requirement is completed 2 16.
  • Dragon Eggs: Collects more than a hundred during six months of exploration, later recovering 632 vital eggs while excavating ruined volcanic fortresses 26 35.
  • Ancient books: Recovers damaged histories and magical texts, including records of Dragonbinder, dragon blood bonds, and the Fourteen Flames 26 35.
  • Maps: Uses an old map after leaving the Smoking Sea and requests a more detailed route to Westeros in Volantis 46 48.
  • Gold Dragons: Spends the currency on food and buys over a hundred sheep for five coins to feed his dragons 47 49.

Relationships

  • King Ghidorah — System-rewarded companion and the source of Redd’s shared powers. Redd communicates with its three independent minds, feeds and raises it, and becomes familiar with the heads’ different personalities. Ghidorah protects him from drowning in the Smoking Sea 16 19 33 43 44.
  • Ehm — His first bonded dragon and principal mount. Their emotional connection guides his early decisions in Valyria; she protects him when the old red dragon becomes threatening 9 10 22.
  • Aegon — The ancient red dragon whose curse Redd removes to win his trust. Redd seeks 10,000 evolution points for his Titan advancement, refuses to abandon him during the night attack, and later pays for his treatment 21 22 23 29 46.
  • The body’s original family — Deceased Valyrian descendants whose memories leave Redd aware of persecution and hostile toward slave catchers 1 47.
  • Unidentified deity — A suspected enemy connected to Valyria’s destruction. Redd believes a god may be targeting him, but cannot determine its identity or motive 17 41.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Entering Valyria and Hatching Ghidorah

  • Completes the journey quest, receives Ghidorah’s egg, and uses it to open a concealed stone entrance into Valyria 2.
  • Survives a forest siege with the intervention of Green Poison Ants, discovering that nearby magical deaths contribute hatching energy even without his direct involvement 7 8.
  • Bonds with Ehm and uses her dragonfire to accelerate the hunt. Ghidorah’s hatching progress reaches 57%, then 77% after a sandworm kill, and later 93% 10 11 13.
  • Completes the volcano extermination mission and hatches Ghidorah. The next quest requires him to become a king, with the Star-Eater Bloodline offered as an unclaimed reward 16.

Building a Dragon Force

  • Discovers his blood can remove the dragons’ curse and gains Aegon’s acceptance 17 19 21 22.
  • Learns that Aegon needs 10,000 evolution points for his next stage. After six months of hunting and scavenging, he has accumulated just over 6,000 points 23 26.
  • Collects eggs, weapons, and books while exhausting the accessible daytime prey around the ruins 26.

The Night Hunt

  • Takes all three dragons out despite Ehm and Aegon’s warnings. A white shadow rises from burned corpses, and Aegon becomes cursed and begins falling 27.
  • Refuses to leave Aegon behind, treats Ehm with blood applied directly into a wound, and leads the group toward the magma river 29 30.
  • Escapes further sandworm attacks and returns to the lair with 7,051 evolution points. He then removes Aegon’s renewed curse 32 33.

Excavation and the Smoking Sea Disaster

  • Excavates more than thirty ruined volcanic fortresses with Ghidorah and studies the Valyrians’ dragon bonds and engineered volcanoes 35 36.
  • Uncovers runic Valyrian steel supports and artificial passages before an earthquake interrupts the digging. A later eruption destroys the dragons’ lair 37 39.
  • Leaves Valyria after suspecting divine interference. A lava barrage over the Smoking Sea forces the group underwater, where Ghidorah shields the unconscious Redd 41 43 44.
  • Survives through the system’s newly added medical repair function 44.

Volantis and the Journey Toward Westeros

  • Spends 1,100 energy points treating Ehm and 1,500 treating Aegon, leaving just over 500. Chooses Westeros as his destination, hoping the wights beyond the Wall might provide energy 46.
  • Conceals the dragons outside Volantis and enters the city for supplies and information 47.
  • Overhears debate about Viserys and Laenor’s succession claims and estimates the date as around 100 AC, while recognizing that he needs confirmation 48.
