• Lin Qingyang stopped Qi Mo’s torture, challenged the evidence against him, and arranged to keep him under guard while investigating Shi Ruobai’s poisoning.
• Lin Qingyang learned from Lin Yao that Qi Mo was destined to become the Demon King, but he rescued him from abuse in the Forbidden Abyss and refused to abandon him.

Lin Qingyang saves Qi Mo from being sold and brings him back to Clear Wind Pavilion, then takes him to the Xuanhuang Sect on a demon-hunting job. In Wasteland Town, Qi Mo searches for his sister A Chou, and the two uncover the Underground Palace’s imprisoned demon mothers and cubs.

• Lin Qingyang refused to hand Qi Mo over, fought to protect him, and later learned that Lei Guang and Chimei had merged into a poisoned monster attacking the Nine Skies Sect.
• After Jin Buhuan killed the monster and Shi Ruobai recovered, Lin Qingyang learned Qi Mo had crippled Lei Guang and then found Qi Mo being abused at the Demon-Feeding Facility.
• Lin Qingyang bought Qi Mo from Hua Jin for five thousand and fifty Spirit Stones and brought him to live at Clear Wind Pavilion.
• With the Nine Skies Sect deeply in debt, Lin Qingyang accepted Cen Ru'an’s offer to hunt a demon at the Xuanhuang Sect and took Qi Mo and Mo Yan to Wasteland Town.
• In Wasteland Town, Lin Qingyang stopped Cen Yue from taking Qi Mo and learned that several people, including Peak Master Zhao, had died.

Lin Qingyang and Qi Mo uncovered the Xuanhuang Sect’s plan to use A-Qi to lure out A Chou, then escaped with her after breaking Qi Mo out of prison. The group fled the sect’s pursuit, but Hong Ling brought news that Mo Yan had been captured and Lin Qingyang was being summoned to save him.

• One-Ear led Lin Qingyang and Qi Mo into a hyena ambush beneath Wasteland Town, where they found a wounded Fox Demon and escaped with him.
• At the Xuanhuang Sect, Lin Qingyang learned that A Chou had escaped and that the sect planned to use A-Qi as bait, so he gave A-Qi to Cen Ru'an in exchange for five hundred thousand Spirit Stones.
• Lin Qingyang, Mo Yan, and Hong Ling infiltrated Qing'an Peak’s Heavenly Prison and found Cen Yue torturing Qi Mo.
• Lin Qingyang removed Qi Mo’s Demon-Locking Ring, and Qi Mo transformed into a black wolf, fought off Hua Jin’s group, and fled with Lin Qingyang and their companions.
• After Lin Qingyang and Qi Mo were separated from Mo Yan and Hong Ling, A Chou found them in the valley and agreed to a truce after Lin Qingyang explained the sect’s scheme and her likely framing by Cen Ru'an.

Lin Qingyang and his companions escaped Wasteland Town after the Otherworldly Demons and a Skeleton Demon devastated the Xuanhuang Sect, while Qi Mo left with Lin Qingyang. At the Immortal Alliance Ceremony, Lin Qingyang and Qi Mo entered the Cloudsea Heavenly Diagram, uncovered an illusion and a mysterious demon, and returned as Qi Mo’s jealousy of Yun Zhan remained unresolved.

• Lin Qingyang arrived in Wasteland Town to rescue Mo Yan, and the battle against Cen Ru'an and Wu Ze escalated as Xuanhuang Sect disciples transformed into Otherworldly Demons.
• Xue Lanyuan and Jin Buhuan rescued Lin Qingyang, Qi Mo, and Mo Yan, but a Skeleton Demon rose beneath Wasteland Town and destroyed the town and the Xuanhuang Sect.
• A Chou led the freed Demon Slaves south, and Qi Mo left his sister to return to Lin Qingyang at the Nine Skies Sect.
• Lin Qingyang learned that he had killed Jin Buhuan and Xue Lanyuan in the original story, while Shi Ruobai suffered a heart-demon attack watched by a black crow.
