Background / History

Shin'yu awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan while still a boy. Madara, recognizing both Shin'yu's potential and their similar fates, chose to take him under his wing. Shin'yu proposed freeing the sealed Uchiha weapon Hikari/Nanashi and establishing a new Uchiha clan under Madara's leadership. 3 5

He acquired the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan by taking a blood relative's eyes. The implanted eyes initiated a genetic fusion that spread Yang Release through his cells; to avoid interrupting the process with eye-power use, Shin'yu kept his eyes blindfolded for six years. 4
