As Ner'zhul moved the Frostwolf Clan toward Durnholde to free its imprisoned orcs, Aaron reached the keep searching for Thrall just as the undead renewed their assault.

• Aaron and his companions escaped the flooded tunnels, found undead among the castle servants, and discovered contaminated wheat had likely spread the plague.
• Aaron left Illucia to care for her family and traveled with Vereesa to Aerie Peak, where Falstad sent Wildhammer forces to investigate the undead.
• Aaron followed a Road of Death through the woods and helped Falstad’s Gryphon Riders defeat gargoyles and Syndicate rogues seeking gryphon eggs for the Cult of the Damned.

Aaron helped defend Durnholde and pursued the Scourge as its forces advanced on Dalaran. During the siege, Ner'zhul trapped Aaron inside a bone giant, but Xal'atath helped him escape, and Stellagosa caught him as he fell.

• Aaron and the defenders survived the Scourge assault on Durnholde, then faced Frostwolf wolf riders and Fel Orcs as Thrall opened the keep's gate.

Aaron and the High Elves fought the Scourge’s invasion of Quel’Thalas, but Anasterian destroyed the Sunwell to stop a demon and save his people. The dragons helped drive back the invasion, while Anasterian’s soul faded and Sylvanas kept her encounter with a banshee from Vereesa.

• Aaron learned the Scourge had stolen the Book of Medivh and traveled with Vereesa and Stellagosa to warn Quel’Thalas that the Sunwell was its likely target.
• Sylvanas and the High Elves fought off attacks on Quel’Danas and uncovered a Scourge camp with a Demon Gate, which Stellagosa helped destroy.
• A vast Scourge army besieged Quel’Danas and then advanced on Silvermoon City, forcing the High Elves to defend the Sunwell and their capital.
• Anasterian used the Sunwell’s power to destroy a Necropolis, then transformed and detonated himself to destroy a Pit Lord and the Sunwell.
• Kael’thas and Sylvanas led the defense of Silvermoon City until Lord Korialstrasz’s dragons arrived and helped rout the Scourge.

Aaron uncovered the Burning Legion’s destruction of Blackrock Mountain and helped unite the Alliance for a campaign in Kalimdor. The expedition crossed into Azshara, where Satyrs began raiding the Alliance camp as the Night Elves’ envoy arrived.

• Aaron warned Arthas about the plague-tainted grain, and they uncovered Baron Rivendare’s undead plot in Stratholme before organizing the city’s defense.
• Aaron investigated Blackrock Mountain, found Archimonde had defeated Ragnaros and the defenders, and subdued the wounded Onyxia with the reins.
• Aaron recovered Sulfuras and brought it to Odyn, who agreed to join the fight, while Archaedas mobilized the Titan Keepers.
• Aaron helped persuade the Alliance to fight the Burning Legion, and Terenas ordered its forces to depart for Kalimdor in five days.
