Background / History
Origin and the Sixteen Eras
Apekus was created by Yilisai’s world consciousness. According to its own account, it awakened when the planet formed from stardust, with its consciousness connected to the oceans, land, and atmosphere. It witnessed the emergence of life and the development of the planet’s earliest intelligent civilizations 3 6.
Across sixteen eras, Apekus repeatedly destroyed civilizations that endangered the planet. Its first cleansing ended a war involving dragons, Chaos Beasts, and Primordial Giants. A later cleansing destroyed a civilization that had abused magic and technology. During these purges, it collected rare artifacts and confiscated dangerous creations 3 9.
Apekus also brought the age of gods to an end by defeating and sealing the surviving deities. Contrary to legends of an effortless victory, it spent hundreds of years searching oceans, continents, and ruined divine realms to find and subdue them. It later admitted that mortal accounts exaggerated both the gods’ destructive power and its own superiority over them 4.
Among those it defeated was God King Serta, who had reached the Twelfth Tier by traveling between worlds and collecting different systems of power. Apekus intervened when Serta was close to establishing uncontested rule, defeated him, and imprisoned him in the World Abyss. Knowing how Serta’s World Travel worked, it personally installed chains, runes, and seals that severed his connection to the world’s laws and prevented him from escaping through that ability 180 183.
Apekus did not regard every sealed ancient being simply as an enemy awaiting destruction. It retained some as the world’s potential “insurance,” reasoning that sufficiently powerful beings might be needed against a future crisis 111.
Defeat by King Ghidorah
During the seventeenth era, Apekus encountered King Ghidorah on the coast. It attacked with tsunamis, waterspouts, and its ultimate technique, End of an Era, but failed to inflict lasting damage. When it attempted to retreat to the ocean, Ghidorah struck it with Gravity Beams, pinned it down, and electrocuted it until it pleaded for mercy 2.
Under interrogation, Apekus identified the planet as Yilisai and explained its history and administrative duties. A brief return of its former pride provoked another electrical assault, after which it became openly fearful and submissive 2 4.
A warning from the world’s source then alerted Apekus to Nuoyaji, a human regressor capable of changing humanity’s future. Its initial alarm came from mistaking this new world node for another overwhelming outsider like Ghidorah 4 5.
Despite its fear, Apekus asked Ghidorah to stop the superstorm threatening Yilisai’s ecosystem. After Ghidorah complied, it supplied information about ancient beasts, projected views of human civilization, and demonstrated its avatars. Ghidorah also questioned whether the administrator position could be transferred; Apekus did not know, and Ghidorah ultimately rejected the responsibility 6 7 9.
Retreat and Recovery
Before Ghidorah left the coast, Apekus allowed him to select ancient treasures and prepared a remote-controlled intelligent combat unit for his use. Once alone, Apekus received a flood of warnings about the storm’s consequences, including political unrest and weakening ancient seals. It left lesser human disputes to its deep-sea apostles and land-based believers, then withdrew into the Endless Ocean to recover 9 10 12.
By Chapter 49, recovery treasures had healed most of its injuries in less than ten days. While resting in the abyss, it received notice of a World Will contract between Valeria and King Ghidorah. Relieved that it was not a contracting party, Apekus immediately approved the agreement and resumed recuperating 49.
A later influx of planetary information awakened it to the collapse of the Old World, the Evil God’s emergence, and widespread black contamination. After determining that the Evil God’s aura had abruptly vanished following Ghidorah’s intervention, it accepted the situation as tolerable. It nevertheless worried that the deaths of so many sealed ancient beings were depleting Yilisai’s reserves of powerful defenders 111.
Apekus then approved another World Will contract, this time making Voraksa Ghidorah’s subordinate. Before it could resume recuperating, the Dragon Ancestor arrived from the deeper abyss to report a powerful foreign entity appearing in the continent’s west 111.
Investigation of Otherworldly Arrivals
Apekus assigned its apostles to lesser problems, including storm-sunken ships, coastlines contaminated by black substances, and visitors near the Forbidden Land. It reserved its own attention for anomalous arrivals from beyond Yilisai’s world barrier. Because the few local beings capable of comparable interworld activity were supervised and bound by world contracts, it suspected that the cause lay in Ghidorah’s original world rather than in an authorized action within Yilisai 120.
It sent the Dragon Ancestor to investigate the newly arrived giant beasts and assess Ghidorah’s mood, then surfaced to meet Ghidorah itself. On the exposed seabed near a bronze church, Ghidorah asked how Rodan had arrived. Apekus admitted that it did not know and suggested that some being might be transporting powerful entities from Ghidorah’s world 120 121.
Apekus also admitted that it could not send Ghidorah back. It explained that world consciousnesses had enabled contact and travel between worlds, but Administrators had eliminated most teleportation rituals. It agreed to ask contacts in neighboring worlds whether they had encountered similar arrivals. After Ghidorah identified Rodan as his little brother, Apekus recorded him among Ghidorah’s subordinates who were not to be harmed. Ghidorah concluded the meeting by kicking Apekus back into the sea 122.
By Chapter 147, Apekus had received World Will contracts involving Ghidorah and Valeria, Voraksa, and the Light God. It then reluctantly approved the contract binding the Dragon Ancestor to Ghidorah. It also reviewed an apostle’s contact with the Silence Society, whose recurring pursuit of hidden truths it recognized from previous eras 147.
Monitoring the Venerable Lord and Little Brother Zilla
When the Venerable Lord of Ten Thousand Crowns appeared, Apekus recognized a presence recorded deep within the World Contract: a descender who had destroyed many worlds and was believed to have been killed long ago. It concluded that the Venerable Lord had used a feigned death and the spread of his name to prepare his return. Rather than intervene against an enemy already confronting Ghidorah, Apekus wished the Venerable Lord bad luck and returned beneath the sea 157 158.
The Venerable Lord’s ultimate attack surprised Apekus. It had estimated him at approximately the Eleventh Tier, but the attack exceeded that level, prompting it to reconsider both his strength and the earlier world guardian who had fought him 163.
Apekus subsequently detected the rapidly strengthening, composite aura of Little Brother Zilla. Watching the battle through a spell, it concluded that the otherworldly Titans were far too dangerous for it to confront. It congratulated itself for remaining underwater, imagining that facing the green behemoth directly would have reduced it to dried or grilled octopus 166 170.
Interworld Crisis
When Serta escaped the World Abyss, Apekus detected the breaking of its personally installed seals. It would ordinarily have intervened immediately, but chose not to because Godzilla and Ghidorah were present. Unbeknownst to Apekus, Serta had agreed to help them investigate the universe’s crisis in exchange for a chance to beat it up 183.
Replies from neighboring Administrators reported other enormous arrivals: a burrowing insect approaching a planet’s core, an ancient sea dragon disturbing another world’s oceans, and a giant monkey leading smaller monkeys through a world of habitual combatants. Apekus connected these incidents to beings from Legendary Earth being sent into different worlds to search for something, and proposed a discussion among Administrators for the sake of many worlds 183.
It subsequently informed the Heavenly Emperor that an Administrators’ meeting would be held in a month to discuss the approaching catastrophe threatening every world. Their previous contact had occurred around Serta’s imprisonment, when Apekus had asked about unusual events in the Heavenly Emperor’s world 187.
Later, Apekus detected and understood vibrations passing through the void and the barriers erected by Administrators. It translated the distant information into images of a destroyed planet, a tentacle emerging from a sea of magma, and an unimaginably enormous body 193.
Appearance
- Size and build: Approximately five hundred meters long, with an enormous cephalopod body and a sea-dragon head 2.
- Head: Scarlet eyes and long horns 4 9.
- Tentacles: More than one hundred thick, flexible tentacles, with suckers capable of gripping seabed rocks 49.
- Coloration: Dark-blue scales, deep-blue flesh, and sea-blue blood 9 10 49.
- Healing appearance: Releases pale-blue fluorescence while recovering. Replacement scales are initially paler than the surrounding scales 49.
- Lasting injuries: By Chapter 49, its Gravity Beam wounds had mostly closed, leaving a few narrow, slightly sunken scars 49.
- Resting posture: Curls its tentacles around its body, resembling an enormous dark-blue flower or a ball of tentacles; may spread them abruptly when startled 49 121.
- Physiology: Described as cold-blooded 170.
Personality
Apekus takes pride in its age, authority, and record of ending dangerous civilizations. It initially recounts its history with a ruler’s dignity, but its confidence collapses before Ghidorah’s overwhelming strength. After repeated electrocution, it becomes deferential, apologetic, and eager to avoid anything that might provoke another attack 3 4.
Its caution predates Ghidorah’s arrival. An ancient surprise attack by the gods taught it to use its full strength immediately against powerful enemies rather than leave them an opening 2.
Apekus prioritizes planetary survival over ordinary political affairs. It risks asking Ghidorah to end an ecosystem-destroying storm, yet dismisses most human power struggles as matters its followers can handle. During recovery, its chief concern is avoiding Ghidorah while hoping he does not destroy the planet or release its sealed threats 6 10.
Its treatment of ancient beings is pragmatic. Although it has sealed dangerous powers, it worries about their excessive loss because some could serve as emergency defenders. It tolerates Ghidorah’s activities so long as they remain within limits it considers survivable for the world 111.
Apekus increasingly treats nonintervention as a survival strategy, taking satisfaction in having avoided battles far beyond its abilities. Nevertheless, it is willing to seek Ghidorah out when necessary and cautiously reassures itself that his earlier willingness to stop the storm means conversation remains possible 120 158 170.
Its concern eventually extends beyond Yilisai. After comparing reports from other worlds, it takes the initiative in organizing cooperation among Administrators against a shared catastrophe 183 187.
Abilities & Skills
Ocean and Tidal Control
Apekus governs Yilisai’s tides and channels the power of its oceans 2 6.
- Creates tsunamis and waterspouts in combat 2.
- Can wield its full power only in the ocean, its preferred battlefield 2.
- Cannot counter the world-threatening storm generated by King Ghidorah despite its oceanic authority 6.
End of an Era
End of an Era is Apekus’s ultimate killing move: a brilliant blue energy beam released from its throat 2.
- The attack pierces the sky and earth, dispersing storm clouds along its path 2 4.
- Ghidorah withstands it without lasting injury; the slight scorching on one wing heals within seconds 2.
Planetary Awareness and Projection
Apekus maintains a direct connection to the world’s source and receives information from the planetary consciousness 4 6.
- Receives warnings when world-changing beings, historical turning points, or endangered seals emerge 4 10.
- Identifies Nuoyaji as a regressor and monitors his movements remotely 5 6.
- Supplies a blue-screen projection showing distant locations in detail, from individual streets to the Karelia Empire and the wider continent 6 7.
- Its historical knowledge combines planetary notifications with firsthand observation through avatars; it is not based solely on legends 4.
- Routinely processes information gathered by the World Will from ley lines, winds, and changes in seawater temperature. The volume would overwhelm a human brain 120.
- Extends its perception through seawater, rock, the crust, and the mantle to observe distant events and auras 111 163 166.
- Detects crossings of Yilisai’s world barrier, the disappearance of powerful beings’ auras, and damage to its ancient seals 111 120 183.
- Uses spells to watch distant battles while remaining beneath the Endless Ocean 170.
- Detects and interprets information-bearing vibrations from the void, receiving images of destruction beyond its own world 193.
Its awareness is not omniscience. Apekus explicitly admits that it does not know what is happening beyond Yilisai and cannot explain how Ghidorah or Rodan arrived without further investigation 121 122.
Ghidorah also questions the reliability of its earlier claim that dragons had been exterminated after discovering an empire with sixty-seven dragons 61.
Avatar Creation
Apekus uses source power connected to the ocean to form smaller bodies for observing civilizations 4 9.
- Demonstrated forms include fish-headed humanoids, an octopus-person, merfolk, a dragon-headed humanoid, a slime, and a Siya 9.
- Selects forms resembling intelligent races from different eras, allowing its avatars to move among their societies without necessarily causing alarm 9.
- The merfolk form is poorly suited to remaining on land for long 9.
Sealing and Contract Administration
Apekus uses its planetary authority to suppress ancient threats and administer contracts submitted to the World Will 4 49.
- Tracked, defeated, and sealed surviving gods over centuries 4.
- Automatically receives records of the highest-order World Will contracts 49.
- Approved Valeria’s contract with Ghidorah; breaches became subject to backlash from the world consciousness 49.
- Approved contracts making Voraksa and the Dragon Ancestor Ghidorah’s subordinates; also received a contract involving Ghidorah and the Light God 111 147.
- Personally created Serta’s chains, runes, and seals in the World Abyss. These severed his connection to the world’s laws and prevented him from using World Travel 180 183.
- Supervises the few local beings capable of large-scale interworld activity through world contracts 120.
- Searches ancient records preserved in the depths of the World Contract, including information about the Venerable Lord of Ten Thousand Crowns 157.
- Receives reports from an apostle through the World Contract 147.
Interworld Communication and Knowledge
Apekus maintains contacts among Administrators in neighboring worlds and can exchange information with them 122 183.
- Receives messages containing complete memories compressed into information that can be absorbed directly into its consciousness 183.
- Compares incidents across worlds to recognize a wider pattern of otherworldly arrivals 183.
- Contacts the Heavenly Emperor and other Administrators to arrange a meeting about a shared catastrophe 183 187.
- Knows of historical interworld travel enabled by world consciousnesses and the Administrators’ suppression of most teleportation rituals, but cannot personally provide Ghidorah with a way back to his original world 122.
Recovery
Apekus can regrow damaged scales and heal severe wounds, aided by its accumulated treasures 49.
- Used deep-sea cold iron, phoenix feathers, World Tree sap, and ancient dragon heart crystals during recovery 49.
- Nearly recovered from Ghidorah’s attacks in less than ten days with these resources 49.
- Believed that without the treasures, even a century of rest might not have been sufficient 49.
- Was still attempting to continue its recuperation when the Dragon Ancestor visited in Chapter 111 111.
Combat Standing
- Compared with native ancient beasts: Apekus states that they are far weaker, lack planetary authority, and generally act on instinct within their own territories 6.
- Against advanced weapons: Easily defeated the Fifth Era’s God of War mech, a weapon capable of rivaling a Ninth-Tier Legend 9.
- Against King Ghidorah: Unable to resist his Gravity Beams, electrical attacks, or physical restraint. Its administrative authority does not overcome the gap in direct combat strength 2 4.
- Against God King Serta: Defeated and imprisoned Serta after he reached the Twelfth Tier. Serta recalls that most of the spells, martial techniques, and enchantments gathered through his travels were ineffective against Apekus 180.
- Compared with Little Brother Zilla: Believes that confronting the green behemoth directly would be fatal and chooses to remain underwater 170.
- Rank: No numerical tier is assigned to Apekus in the supplied chapters. Its victory over the Twelfth-Tier Serta establishes a historical combat feat rather than an explicit personal rank 180.
Power Progression
The supplied chapters reveal Apekus’s existing powers and recovery rather than a confirmed sequence of cultivation breakthroughs.

Equipment / Weapons / Items
Apekus’s collection contains confiscated relics from destroyed civilizations and offerings from worshippers. It allows Ghidorah to take selected treasures, regarding them as largely useless to itself 9.
- Kebokopu Crystal — A First Era mana core produced through the combined efforts of multiple races. Only three were made during that era 9.
- Chaos Beast King Core — A Third Era artifact capable of controlling chaos energy and resisting most magical attacks; confiscated from a Chaos Beast lair 9.
- God of War mech wreckage — Remains of the Fifth Era war machine Apekus defeated. Its power is still present 9.
- Sixth Era spatial storage device — A thought-controlled technological device using spatial folding, large enough to store a hundred-meter-tall mech. Given to Ghidorah with its access restrictions removed 9 12.
- Intelligent combat unit / Black Owl — A Sixth Era magitech unit prepared for Ghidorah, with eighth-tier combat power, language translation, environmental detection, and concealment functions 12 25.
- Recovery materials — Deep-sea cold iron, phoenix feathers, World Tree sap, and ancient dragon heart crystals used to repair its injuries 49.
Ghidorah later used several of the transferred treasures as palace decorations, placing the crystal and Chaos Beast King Core in the hall and the God of War mech beside his throne. He left the remaining objects for Sangis to sort 76.
Relationships
- Yilisai’s world consciousness — Creator and source of Apekus’s administrative authority, planetary notifications, and innate observation abilities 4 6 49.
- King Ghidorah — Defeats and coerces Apekus into serving as an informant and supplier. Apekus fears him intensely and hopes to avoid further contact 2 4 9 49. It later seeks dialogue over otherworldly arrivals, approves further contracts involving him, and generally tolerates his actions provided he does not destroy the world 111 120 122 147.
- Nuoyaji — A human world node whose regression Apekus detects and explains to Ghidorah; subsequently observed through its planetary connection 4 5 6.
- Deep-sea apostles and land-based believers — Followers whom Apekus trusts to handle lesser disturbances while it recuperates 10. Apostles later address shipwrecks, contaminated coastlines, and visitors near the Forbidden Land, while one makes contact with the Silence Society 120 147.
- Valeria — Party to the World Will contract Apekus approves. Apekus expresses relief that Valeria, rather than itself, is being bound to Ghidorah 49.
- Voraksa — Ancient being whose contract of subordination to Ghidorah Apekus approves. Apekus later records him among Ghidorah’s protected subordinates 111 122.
- Dragon Ancestor — One of the most capable ancient beings under Apekus’s command. Reports foreign arrivals and is sent to investigate the giant beasts and assess Ghidorah’s mood. Apekus later reluctantly approves his contract with Ghidorah 111 120 122 147.
- Rodan — Otherworldly Titan whose arrival prompts Apekus’s investigation. After Ghidorah identifies Rodan as his little brother, Apekus memorizes his aura and marks him as a subordinate who must not be harmed 120 121 122.
