The man looked at Felicia in surprise, pulled down his mask, revealing a white mustache and a small goatee. He looked at her with eyes full of disbelief. "Xiaomao?"
Felicia threw off the goggles and rushed towards the man. Natasha stepped aside, and Felicia threw herself into her father's arms. Everyone was watching. She burst into tears and hugged him tightly. The man looked at her, tears gradually filling his eyes. "Xiaomao!"
"Dad!"
They hugged each other tightly. Peter could feel the loss, sadness, and extremely pure joy emanating from her. He watched quietly, and everyone watched quietly, letting the father and daughter enjoy the moment of reunion.
"Little...Xiaomao, what are you doing here?!" He turned to Fury suddenly, "Did you get her involved?!"
"No, it's him." Fury pointed at Peter. Felicia's father's sharp eyes stared straight at him. Peter swallowed in fear and cursed in his heart, "Fury, you bastard!"
"I... uh... nice to meet you, sir, I am Spider-Man." Peter was as stiff as a piece of wood, and he could have sworn that he heard Qin snickering behind his back.
"Who are you?" the man growled.
"He is... he is my friend," Felicia stammered with a red face, "And he didn't do anything. I came to stop--wait, what am I doing?!" Felicia jerked her hand away and punched her father in the face, right on the bridge of the nose, "Where have you been dying in the past few years?!"
Everyone blinked in astonishment. I was stunned. This was such a big turn.
"Xiaomao, I--"
"--Do you know what mom went through?! What kind of life did we live after you left?! Where did you die?!"
"I... I..."
"With us, locked up in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s strictest prison, even he can't escape." Fury explained.
"I wouldn't use that term, Fury." The man rubbed his nose and groaned in pain, "We have an agreement. I will be your prisoner, and you will set my family free."
Fury shrugged. "That's right."
"I'm sorry, can anyone explain what's going on?" Peter finally couldn't hold it in any longer. He hated being confused the most, "I thought little--uh, Black Cat's father was dead?"
"In name, yes." Fury nodded, "His name is Walter Hardy, nicknamed 'Cat'. There is no safe in the world that he cannot open, and there is no building that he cannot break into. He has always been a thorn in our side, but in the end we caught him."
"I asked you to catch her." Walter looked at her daughter, "In order to let my Xiaomaos live a normal life and stay away from me."
"What a great gift." Logan snorted.
"That's enough," Captain America said, "We are wasting time. Every second we delay, Hydra is one step closer to getting Super Soldier Serum. We must act, now."
"I won't go anywhere unless you give me a reason." Walter said.
Fury raised his eyebrows. "What do you want?"
"My Xiaomao, she can't get involved in this matter." Walter warned.
"What?!" Felicia shouted, "You can't!"
"I can, and I will."
"You can't just leave and then suddenly show up one day and act like you're still my dad." Felicia hissed, "You have no right to keep me out!"
"Do you know what this is for?!"
"I know, we are going to break into a former CIA top black prison called Treadstone to rescue my boyfriend's uncle and aunt!" Felicia was furious.
Walter turned to Fury: "How deep is she involved?"
"Not deep. And, since she obviously refuses to leave, I guess she will go with us. So, can we all be serious?" Fury ordered.
Walter looked at Felicia and finally sighed, "Okay, let me see the map." The hologram rose, Walter looked quickly and pointed to a ventilation shaft a few miles away, "There. That's our entrance. From there, there should be a control panel that we can use to override the security door and open the front door. Send me there and I can crack it."
"Very good, then we attack." Captain America pointed at the map, "James and I took the lead, Cyclops and Marvel Girl took the back, Spider and Johnny were in the middle. Storm, your ability cannot be used to its full potential in a narrow corridor, so stay outside to ensure that no one can escape. Natasha, you and Black Cat follow Walter to find a way to sneak in and look for Spider's family. Do you have any objections?"
No one objected.
"I talked to the professor, and he will telepathically connect all of us here." Fury said, "So from now on, we will no longer communicate verbally. This will take some getting used to, but we will get used to it."
"Yes, except Spider-Man and Black Cat." Xavier said.
"Why?" Fury raised his eyebrows.
"We have a Mind Stone blocker in our mask, but..." Peter sighed, tapped his temple, and turned off the sensor, "I think we can do without it."
Xavier nodded. "Thank you for your trust, Spider-Man." Peter nodded without saying anything. He also helped Felicia turn off her Mind Stone blocker.
Everyone started to take action. Felicia was with her father and Natasha; Peter was with Johnny, Scott, Qin One group. Before they separated, Peter grabbed Natasha and pulled her aside. "Xiao Na... If something goes wrong, take her out of there. Please."
Natasha nodded. "Don't worry, Peter, she will be fine."
Peter nodded, quickly returned to his team, and rushed towards the planned entrance to the base. It was an entrance the size of a tunnel, equipped with a ten-inch thick reinforced steel door. They waited outside the door, waiting for the "cat" to open the door from the inside.
"Peter? Can you hear me?" Qin's thoughts came into his mind.
Peter concentrated and tried to answer non-verbally, "I heard that, Qin, what's wrong?"
"You're worried about her, right?"
He chuckled, "You don't need to be a mind reader to guess it."
"I'm not a mind reader. Relax, she can take care of herself."
"Xiaomao always likes to take on jobs that are beyond her ability." He told her, "She... she is too devoted to protecting the people she cares about."
"Sounds like someone I know."
Peter smiled, and his tense nerves relaxed a little. At this moment, the door began to slide.
"They succeeded! Action!" Captain America ordered, and he and Logan rushed in first. As soon as the group rushed in, there was a dense rain of bullets at the entrance. Everyone threw themselves behind the crates for cover.
Captain America jumped out, holding his shield in front, and all the bullets were bounced away. Logan roared, showed his steel claws, and rushed into the enemy group, slashing left and right, and flesh and blood flew everywhere.
Peter doesn't like blood, he hates blood and death. But if you have to do it, then do it. These people are Hydra. He followed Logan, followed closely by Johnny, Scott and Qin.
They fought with armed soldiers. Peter fired Repulsor Cannon towards the ceiling, knocking down large pieces of rubble and hitting the enemy. Qin used telekinesis to pick up the crate and throw it, while Johnny and Scott blasted the enemy away with flames and shock waves.
Soon, they came to a fork in the corridor. Captain America asked everyone to stop and looked around, "We have to divide our troops into two groups. James, you follow me; Spider, you lead the rest."
Peter nodded. "No problem, captain!" They quickly separated, and Peter led his team into the narrow corridor.
At the end of the corridor is a door. Peter signaled to stop and turned to Qin: "Marvel Girl, look at what's on the other side of the door."
Qin put her fingers on her temples and concentrated on sensing. After a few seconds, she opened her eyes. "Thirty people, fully armed, with their guns pointed at the door. They will open fire as soon as we enter."
Peter nodded and looked at the steel door - I'm afraid it can't be penetrated... unless... "Cyclops, step forward." Scott stood next to him, "Listen to my instructions and shoot the beam towards the door. Don't stop, understand?"
Scott nodded and put his fingers on the eyepiece. Peter faced the door and puffed up his chest. "Single beam cannon, maximum power, fire!"
Two shock waves blasted out from Scott's eyes and Peter's chest at the same time. The steel door was pulled up and smashed into the room, overwhelming everyone.
"Burn them, Johnny!" Peter shouted. Johnny, covered in flames, flew over Peter's head and rushed into the room. The hands sprayed out flames and swept towards the remaining enemies. Scott, Qin and Peter took advantage of the chaos and rushed in, launching a surprise attack while the gunmen were busy firing at Johnny in mid-air.
Scott fired beams at the enemy group continuously, knocking them down one by one; Peter took out the Spider-shaped shuriken, threw it at the group of enemy soldiers, and pierced their arms before they pulled the trigger.
Suddenly, the steel door from before floated, and Qin was using his mind to control it, sweeping past and knocking all enemies to the ground. In less than two minutes, the room was empty.
Peter gasped and looked around. "Well done, everyone."
"This sounds like my rhythm." Johnny grinned, "An old Nazi organization, kidnapping, bad guys with guns! Hot red-haired girl! It's like someone looked through my diary!"
"Do you still have a diary?" Scott raised his eyebrows.
"Yes," Peter laughed out loud, "I found it once. You know he still hugs him when he sleeps--"
"--Shut up, Web-Head! Otherwise I will burn all your clothes!" Johnny shouted angrily, causing everyone to burst into laughter.
They looked around. The place looked like a huge hangar, filled with heavy equipment, steel beams and concrete, and was obviously still under construction.
"We have to move on and find Wyndham's laboratory. Jean, can you scan it and find out where there are other living people?"
"Let me try." Qin closed her eyes to concentrate, then opened her eyes after a few seconds, "There." She pointed to a small door with an electronic lock on the right.
"What did you find?" Peter asked.
"Someone, I think it's a scientist, is forced to work here, not voluntarily." Hatred shot out of Qin's eyes.
"Like Wyndham's style." They walked to the door, which was locked.
"Get out of the way, I'll blow it away." Cyclops reached out to touch the eyepiece.
"No need, Cyclops." Peter waved his hand, pulled out a wire from the arm guard, and inserted it into the keyboard, "Look at me." It only took a few seconds for the decoder to crack the password, and with a click, the door opened, "Done!"
"Decoder?" Johnny asked.
Peter nodded. "That's right."
Peter opened the door and walked slowly in. This part of the base was much cleaner and full of technology. The deeper you went, the walls turned into glass. He looked through the glass and saw a laboratory that could accommodate about twenty people, but there were only four people in white coats at the moment.
"Are they loyal to Hydra?" Peter asked Qin.
Qin closed her eyes. "No, no one came here voluntarily."
Peter nodded. "Then let's rescue them right away." He walked to the glass door and unlocked it quickly. The door slid open and they walked in.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" asked a female scientist.
"We are here to rescue you, we are S.H.I.E.L.D.'s people." Peter told her.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.? Really?!" others cheered.
"Really. Now we need to get you out. Cyclops, Marvel Girl, get them out; Johnny and I keep pushing."
"No! You can't!" an older man rushed out and shouted, "If we leave, they will kill our families!" He rushed to Peter and grabbed his uniform, "You can't do this!"
"I promise, nothing will happen -" Peter suddenly paused. He couldn't believe his eyes. The man was older, much older. He looked thinner than he remembered, but... it was him. Peter's voice trembled, and the words slipped out of his mouth unconsciously, "Dad... Dad?"
Richard·Parker looked at him, his eyes full of questions. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"
"Send... send them out! Send them all out!" Peter roared at Mutants. Qin shuddered, she must have read his mind, damn it.
She and Scott immediately turned to the scientists. "Please follow us."
Richard shouted, "You can't do this! They will kill us--"
"--Your family will be fine!" Peter shouted, stopping him and waiting for the others to leave.
"I wish you good luck, Peter." Qin silently blessed her in her heart as she led everyone away.
Peter turned to the man, raised his hand to the helmet, and unlocked the lock. "Brother, what are you doing--" Johnny wanted to stop him, but Peter raised his hand to stop him.
He slowly took off his mask and looked at the tall and thin man in front of him. Richard's eyes widened instantly. Peter looked at him. "Dad?"
"That...Peter?" Richard's voice was full of uncertainty, "Is it really you?"
"Why are you still alive?" Peter reached out and touched his face, trying to make sure this was not another robot disguise, but found nothing suspicious.
"I... your mother and I..." Tears began to well up in his eyes, and he hugged Peter tightly, "Oh my God, my child, my precious child!"
Peter's throat was choked. This is not fair, he is not his son, not his real son. This is not fair... But what can he do? He hugged him back slowly. "We have to take you out, Dad, let's go now."
"I... no, wait!" Richard broke away from his arms, "Wyndham took all my files! All of them! He can use them to create Super Soldier Serum for Hydra! We must stop him!"
Peter smiled, "Don't worry, dad, I've taken care of that end. He won't get anything. We have to send you out first, and then find Wyndham. He must pay for what he did--"
Spider-Sense suddenly screamed. "Get down!" He shot out a Silk to pull Johnny away, and at the same time threw himself down. A black shadow passed by where they were standing just now.
They stood up quickly, Peter put on his mask again, and looked ahead warily. A three-meter-tall dark figure stepped out from behind the cabinet.
It looked like a Laohu. Its legs were upright, with black fur and yellow stripes, and a yellow vest on its back. The muscles all over its body were tangled, and its thick arms seemed to be able to bend steel with its bare hands. It roared, and its amber eyes locked on Peter. Its claws were the size of Peter's palm. It made a crisp sound and pounced towards him.
