Peter and Strange were trapped in the New York Sanctum after Kaecilius destroyed the London Sanctum. As Kaecilius attacked Daniel Drumm, Peter sensed a mysterious connection to a black greatsword displayed in the sanctum.

• Wong explained that the three sanctums protected Earth from incursions by other dimensions, and Strange learned that Kaecilius’s stolen pages revealed how to contact the Dark Dimension.
• Kaecilius destroyed the London Sanctum, and Peter pulled Strange through the passage to the New York Sanctum before the blast wave struck.
• Peter and Strange searched the New York Sanctum for Daniel Drumm, while Peter felt a strong resonance with a black greatsword in the relic room.
• Peter and Strange found Drumm guarding the entrance, but Kaecilius and two zealots entered after twisting the sanctum’s space.

Peter fought Kaecilius and his zealots at the New York Sanctum, but Drumm was killed and Kaecilius trapped Peter in the Mirror Dimension. Peter escaped the Sanctum’s lock only to emerge in Central Park, while Strange remained in danger inside.

• Peter saved Drumm from Kaecilius’s blade, defeated the female zealot, and sent her through a portal to Kamar-Taj.
• Peter and Drumm fought Kaecilius, who twisted the Mirror Dimension and stabbed Drumm through the flank and heart.
• Peter shattered Kaecilius’s crystal blades with bone spikes and rushed to Drumm, but Drumm died after warning him to protect the Sanctum.

Peter fought Kaecilius at the New York Sanctum and awakened the Ebony Blade, forcing Kaecilius to flee. After the Ancient One explained the sword’s curse, she offered Stephen Strange the role of guardian of the New York Sanctum, but Strange refused, shaken by having killed someone.

• Peter returned from Metropolitan General Hospital to the New York Sanctum and attacked Kaecilius, who broke free of the magic array.
• Kaecilius struck Peter through the display room with an enchanted war hammer, and Peter found and drew the Ebony Blade from the rubble.

• Strange sent everyone into the Mirror Dimension, but Peter escaped and covered three blocks with webs to catch the Ancient One when Kaecilius wounded her and she fell from the sky.

• Peter declared the Heroic Age, then returned to Kamar-Taj and assembled Jean, Wanda, Ben Grimm, Felicia, and Tandy to defend Hong Kong after the New York Sanctum fell.

• Ben Grimm, Jean, Wanda, Felicia, and Peter fought Kaecilius’s followers as the battle unfolded in reverse time.
