Pummeling the Destroyer

The one riding a white horse wasn't necessarily Tang Sanzang.

Just as the one descending on rainbow clouds wasn't necessarily Sun Wukong.

Holy light descended from the sky, and what appeared on the ground was a gigantic suit of armor kneeling on one knee!

Unlike in the original movie, it hadn't arrived outside town. This time, it had landed right in the town center.

The sight drew everyone's attention.

The early risers who had just stepped onto the streets looked at the robot with fear and wariness in their eyes.

"The Destroyer?!" Sif recognized it immediately.

The townspeople began fleeing. Everyone knew that whatever came next couldn't be good.

"Stop staring! Run!" A girl was still looking around in bewilderment when her mother scooped her up, tucked her under one arm, and took off!

Beside Li Ang, Good Thor looked puzzled at the sight. "The Destroyer should be guarding the vault. Why has it come out?"

Thor's question was soon answered.

The Destroyer gave off the sound of shifting metal. Layer after layer of armor slowly opened and closed as though breathing, while an undying flame burned inside its furnace-like head.

The Destroyer slowly raised its head, its gaze locking onto Thor across the block.

As its scales opened and closed, a charging hum rang out.

"Get out of the way!" Thor shouted.

The Warriors Four ran over at the sight as well. Thor raised Mjolnir high, gathering arcs of electricity, and once the Destroyer finished charging, its face hummed.

A laser shot straight at Thor!

Li Ang hurriedly grabbed Darcy and Jane and took to the air!

A dull thud came from behind him, immediately followed by an explosion!

Booms rang out without pause. Li Ang looked back and saw the electrical arcs collide with the Destroyer's beam, only to be quickly swallowed up.

Li Ang's heart lurched. Shit, he isn't dead, is he?

Because of the Tiger Talisman, Thor now had only half his divine power and couldn't overpower the Destroyer at all. Under its beam, he was driven steadily back.

The Warriors Four were also trying to stop it, but the Destroyer's entire body was made of uru metal. They couldn't break through its defenses at all!

At the sight, Jane immediately grabbed Li Ang's arm, anxiety on her face. "Don't worry about me! Go help Thor!"

Even without her saying so, Li Ang wouldn't have stood by and watched.

After setting Darcy and Jane down, Li Ang broke the sound barrier and slammed straight into the Destroyer!

The Destroyer had just steadied itself and was about to fire its beam when Li Ang charged in from afar and sent it flying!

They smashed through one house after another along the way. Not only that, but Li Ang held the Destroyer with one hand while hammering its head with the other!

The clang of metalworking echoed into the distance, leaving Sif and Thor staring dumbfounded from afar!

"He... he knocked the Destroyer flying? What god is he?"

At Sif's words, Thor snapped out of his shock. "He's not a god. He's a Midgardian."

"Huh?" Sif didn't believe it at all. Then an explosion rang out from the other end of town.

"Let's go help him!"

Sif shouted and charged out first.

At that moment, Li Ang held the Destroyer and slammed straight into the nearby wasteland, sending up a great spray of rubble and dust!

Inside a deep crater a full five meters across, Li Ang pinned the Destroyer down with one hand while his other arm swung so fast it left afterimages, hammering away without pause!

Every punch unleashed an impact that distorted the space around them.

The Destroyer still tried to break free, raising a hand to grab Li Ang's neck and throw him off!

Li Ang stopped punching and cast magic with one hand. After lowering that hand, his eyes lit up, and Heat Vision erupted, sizzling against the Destroyer and sending ripples through the magic circles.

"You lowly Midgardian!" Loki's furious voice came from the armor.

After Odin fell into his slumber, Loki had stolen Gungnir and used it to command the Destroyer.

Learning that Thor had regained his divine power had only made him more afraid of losing that authority, so he had sent the Destroyer to kill his own brother.

But for all his calculations, he had never expected such a powerful fighter to exist on Earth!

Didn't everyone say Midgardians were weak and needed Asgard's protection?

The books were all lies!

As Li Ang's final punch landed on the Destroyer's head, a dull thud rang out, and its head finally caved in.

Looking at the Destroyer lying on the ground a short distance away, Li Ang panted heavily.

The fatigue he hadn't felt in so long left him strangely nostalgic. "This thing can really take a beating!"

He had thrown at least a hundred punches just now, yet all he had done was cave in part of the Destroyer's head.

Looking at the slight redness and swelling on his hand, Li Ang began considering getting some uru metal. Maybe he could make himself a glove too?

"Are you all right?!" Thor landed just as his voice rang out. He looked at Li Ang with concern and found that he was only slightly out of breath.

Sif and the others followed close behind, and they all froze at the sight of the fallen Destroyer.

Especially when they saw its half-caved-in head.

"By Odin, you... you hammered the Destroyer flat?!"

Sif looked at Li Ang as though he were a monster. That was uru metal, and it had powerful magic cast on it too!

"Not really. I just severed its connection to Loki."

Li Ang was feeling somewhat tired as well, but before he could rest, an ominous premonition flashed through him!

He reacted extremely quickly, immediately rushing toward the Destroyer.

Sif and Thor watched from beside him in confusion. Only when Li Ang lifted the Destroyer did they see a magic circle on the ground, giving off waves of black mist!

If Li Ang hadn't reacted fast enough, the black mist would have enveloped the Destroyer.

"Mephisto, you bastard!" Li Ang's expression twisted. He wished he could charge into Hell right then and kill Mephisto.

"Quick reaction."

Thor's voice rang out. Sif and the Warriors Three looked at Good Thor beside them, thinking he had spoken.

Several bolts of lightning erupted from the magic circle in the middle. Evil Thor flew out of it, arcs of electricity rippling over his body.

The sight left Sif and the Warriors Three dumbfounded.

"Two Thors?" The three bearded men looked from Good Thor to Evil Thor, disbelief written across their faces.

"He's a fake!" Evil Thor pointed at Good Thor, but Sif glanced at the hammer in Good Thor's hand and looked at him as though he were an idiot.

The hammer was the real deal!

Seeing that Sif, the Warriors Three, and the others weren't moving, Evil Thor's expression twisted. "You dare defy the future king of Asgard? Fine, then die, all of you!"

With that, he raised his hand, gathered a ball of lightning in his palm, and blasted it at Sif and the others!

Fortunately, Good Thor reacted quickly enough. He raised his hammer and absorbed the lightning into it just before it struck.

"Though I really don't want to fight, let's settle this!"

Good Thor swung his hammer and flew at Evil Thor. The two collided and went flying far into the distance. Li Ang hurried after them.

As they flew, Li Ang distinctly sensed a clear surge of magic from somewhere between the two figures speeding away.

That magic was dark and evil.

Li Ang immediately sensed that something was wrong and sped up to catch them!

As he flew off, he also took the Destroyer with him using the Rooster Talisman.
