Li Ge handed the card to Cyclops.
"You know what to do, right?"
He wanted to make sure Cyclops remembered how to use the card.
"Bind it with a drop of blood!"
Cyclops answered without hesitation.
After all, this had been about solving his problem from the start. How could Cyclops not have listened carefully to Li Ge's explanation?
He carefully read the description on the card. These were the abilities he was about to possess, so of course he needed to understand them clearly.
Looking at the eerie Sharingan design, Cyclops felt a little puzzled, though it looked pretty good.
"These eyes are...?"
He asked Li Ge.
"The Sharingan, also called the Eye That Reflects the Heart. It represents the desires in your heart. Don't you want to solve the problem with your eyes? These eyes suit you very well."
"Normally, when you aren't using your abilities, your eyes won't change. They'll only look like this when you use your abilities."
"Of course, if you don't like it, I can remove that change for you."
Li Ge explained what the Sharingan meant.
"No! Li Ge!"
"The Eye That Reflects the Heart?"
"I really like that name, and it looks cool, doesn't it?!"
After learning what the Sharingan meant, Cyclops felt a rush of emotion.
Wasn't I hoping to use the abilities in these eyes to solve my problem?
At this moment, that's my greatest desire.
Sharingan. That name really suits my eyes.
Looking farther down the card's description, he saw enough abilities to fill a whole list, though he didn't understand exactly what some of them meant.
Such as Demon True Form.
Does that mean borrowing power from a demon?
But surely Li Ge wouldn't set me up right under the Professor's and everyone else's noses?
There must be another explanation.
It doesn't matter if I don't understand. I'm going to fuse with these abilities anyway, so I'll know afterward.
He had Li Ge hold the card for him.
Without asking Li Ge anything else, Cyclops took a wrapped scalpel out of his pocket.
Cyclops had picked it up from the infirmary earlier. He had already considered that he would need it.
As for why Li Ge didn't simply grant Cyclops the abilities directly?
All he could say was that life needed a little ceremony.
Cyclops gently cut his left index finger. Without hesitating, he dabbed the bead of blood that emerged onto the card he had asked Li Ge to hold.
The bloodstained Sharingan design gave off wisps of rainbow light and, together with the explanatory text on the card, turned back into a ball of light.
Before Cyclops could lower his finger, he saw the ball of light shoot straight toward his head.
He instinctively wanted to dodge, but suddenly remembered what had happened when Li Ge used a card and immediately suppressed that instinct.
This should be a necessary part of binding the abilities to me.
So he watched as the ball of light flew straight toward the space between his eyebrows. With a flash, it disappeared before his eyes.
Cyclops unconsciously raised a hand and touched his forehead.
Just as he was wondering why nothing had happened, streams of information began appearing in his mind.
"Professor, just watch! Scott will be one of my most successful creations, and my very first real creation!"
"The designs I used on myself don't count."
While Cyclops was receiving information about his abilities, Li Ge had already joined the Professor and the others in the corner of the training ground.
At that moment, Li Ge was like a child eager to show off his treasure to the adults.
"Li Ge, can you tell us how you solved Scott's flaw?"
Phoenix was very interested in Li Ge's solution. After all, she also needed to ask him to solve her problem.
"Solve his flaw?"
"No! How could I waste Scott's ability like that?"
"I discovered that Scott's eyes are connected to a space filled with optic blast energy. He only can't control his eyes because he's too weak."
"And he's never considered making use of that practically bursting supply of energy, nor has he been capable of it."
"As a designer, I can't pass up the chance to make him more perfect!"
"So I designed a complete set of abilities for him to utilize that energy."
After hearing Phoenix's question, Li Ge's urge to show off grew even stronger.
His words brimmed with confidence in his ability to design powers.
"Just watch. Cyclops is almost done fusing with his abilities."
Before the Professor and the others could ask anything else, Li Ge spoke first, directing their attention toward Cyclops.
A red glow began gradually spreading over Cyclops's body, starting with thin wisps, then spreading in patches, until his entire body turned dark red.
His clothes also turned into armor that looked as though it had been forged from lava.
A pair of demon horns instantly grew from either side of his forehead.
He looked exactly like a demon made of energy and lava.
Had Cyclops's face not still been clearly recognizable, the Professor and the others would never have believed it was him.
"Oh, shit!"
"Oh my God! God!"
"Scott, are you all right?"
"What's going on?"
Cyclops's transformation immediately frightened the Professor and the others.
Logan even spat his favorite cigar out of his mouth.
Storm covered her mouth with both hands in shock, while Phoenix anxiously called out to Cyclops. Only the Professor remained calm.
"Li Ge, what's going on?"
"Have Scott's powers gone completely out of control?"
Before getting a response from Cyclops, Phoenix turned and gripped Li Ge's shoulders, staring into his eyes as she questioned him urgently.
"Jean, calm down. Scott hasn't lost control. This should be an ability Li Ge designed for him."
The Professor lived up to his reputation. Rather than asking Li Ge, he had immediately used telepathy to investigate Cyclops's condition.
He detected none of the chaos that came with uncontrolled powers in Cyclops.
Coming back to his senses, Cyclops looked at his current appearance.
Noticing something unusual, he raised his lava-like hand to touch his head and felt a pair of hard, curved horns.
The armor on his body felt neither heavy nor restrictive, as though it had always been part of him.
He clenched his fists. The sense of explosive power left him somewhat intoxicated. He had never felt as strong as he did now.
"So this is Demon Transformation? What a powerful ability!"
Cyclops murmured to himself. The abilities Li Ge had designed were powerful beyond his imagination.
After receiving the information within the ball of light, Cyclops had been most shocked by the detailed descriptions of the two abilities, Demon True Form and Transform into a Demon.
However, Demon True Form needed to be condensed and then nurtured in an energy space he opened up.
He had yet to open an energy space or condense his Demon True Form, and he didn't have enough energy to use it now.
So Cyclops had channeled all the energy flowing out of his eyes into activating Transform into a Demon, wanting to see exactly how the ability worked.
