Everyone turned toward the voice.
It was Player 2, Li Xin.
Li Xin played with her curly hair, looking completely relaxed.
"Since my role is safe enough, there's no need for me to hide it."
"That's right. I'm the Seer."
Her manner and expression were perfectly natural, as though voluntarily revealing her role was no big deal.
Everyone stared at her in surprise. They hadn't expected the Seer to actually come forward.
Li Xin looked around and raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong? Why are you all looking at me like that?"
Zheng Yi asked uncertainly, "You... really are the Seer?"
"Then you must have checked someone's role last night, right? Who was it?"
The other players all focused their attention on her, wanting to hear the result of Li Xin's check last night.
"The person I checked last night was this gentleman, Chen Li, the driver."
Li Xin's voice was completely relaxed.
Upon hearing Chen Li's name, everyone tensed, waiting for what Li Xin would say next.
"His alignment is..." At this point, Li Xin hesitated for a second before saying, "Good."
Oh?
Lin Jie keenly picked up on this detail.
If the result was good, couldn't she just say so?
Why hesitate for a second?
His intuition told him she must be hiding something.
Once they heard Chen Li was good, everyone relaxed.
"After all that, you still didn't find a werewolf." The man in the suit shook his head dismissively.
But Chen Li nodded at this point.
"This woman's right. I really am good."
"Looks like she is the Seer."
"Now that we know who the Seer is, we shouldn't need to tell the Guard what to do, right?"
Chen Li's thinking was very simple.
As long as the Guard kept protecting Li Xin and the Seer stayed alive, all the werewolves would be found sooner or later.
"Hold on," Zheng Yi interrupted them. "We still can't be certain that Ms. Li is the real Seer."
Hearing this, Li Xin stood up indignantly. "What's that supposed to mean? Are you saying I'm lying?"
The more she spoke, the angrier she became. "Then what's your role? You're trying to stir everyone up against the Seer. Don't tell me you're a werewolf!"
Quite a few gazes turned toward Zheng Yi.
"I'm just raising a reasonable possibility! How does that make me a werewolf?" Zheng Yi couldn't help feeling a trace of anger himself. This woman was being utterly unreasonable.
He stood up too, glaring at Li Xin.
A confrontation was about to erupt.
"Hold on."
Lin Jie, who had remained silent for a long time, finally spoke.
"Ms. Li, I know you're unhappy about being suspected."
"But your word alone isn't enough to convince everyone."
"How about this-"
"Explain in detail why you checked Chen Li, the driver, and exactly how the nighttime check went."
"The more detail, the better."
"After all, if you really are the Seer, stating these simple facts shouldn't put you under any pressure."
"If there's nothing wrong with your account, all of us will naturally believe you're the Seer."
Lin Jie turned to Zheng Yi. "And Chief Zheng, your suspicions are reasonable too."
"If Li Xin really is a fake, there will definitely be something wrong with her account."
"Until then, why not sit down and calmly hear what she has to say?"
Everyone thought Lin Jie's suggestion was reasonable, and they urged the two to calm down.
The two sat down without a word.
Li Xin spoke with a displeased expression. "I just have to explain why I checked Chen Li and what happened during the night, right?"
"My reason for checking him was very simple."
"Have you all forgotten Chen Li's introduction before the game began?"
"He outright asked God to give him the werewolf role!"
"Wasn't that kind of dangerous behavior worth using a check on?"
Everyone recalled Chen Li's introduction. It did seem that something like that had happened.
Chen Li nodded as well. "That's right. I did say that. I really did want to be a werewolf."
"But looking at it now, it's lucky I didn't get the werewolf role."
"After all, the Seer actually checked me for that very reason."
"Luckily, I'm now officially confirmed as good by the Seer."
It had to be said that Li Xin's reason for checking him was very convincing, and many people nodded in agreement.
But her words failed to convince Lin Jie.
After all, everyone knew that Chen Li had asked God for the werewolf role.
A werewolf could also use that to fabricate the thought process behind a check.
In fact, because Li Xin's speech flowed too smoothly, Lin Jie instead suspected that this was an explanation she had prepared beforehand.
It only made her look more like a werewolf.
But Lin Jie gave a hum and said without betraying anything, "We accept your reason for checking him."
"Now, please describe exactly what you did during the night."
Hearing that her explanation had been accepted greatly improved Li Xin's mood.
She shifted her body alluringly. "Don't rush, handsome. I'll tell you now."
"After God announced, 'Night falls, close your eyes,' everything went black before me."
"So I could only close my eyes in silence and wait for God to call my role."
"After the werewolves finished their actions, God announced, 'Seer, open your eyes.'"
"I opened my eyes and found that I could see."
"I looked around and saw all of you sitting with your eyes tightly shut."
"Then God told me to choose someone to check."
"I suddenly remembered that Chen Li had said he wanted God to give him the werewolf role."
"So I pointed toward Chen Li."
"And God made his hand gesture."
"Thumbs up."
"I knew that meant 'good.'"
"Once all of that was over, everything went dark before me again."
"So I closed my eyes again and waited for daybreak."
"That's everything that happened during my nighttime action."
After finishing her account, Li Xin propped her cheek on her hand and gazed flirtatiously at Lin Jie, waiting for his assessment.
"There doesn't seem to be anything wrong..." the man in the suit murmured after listening.
Zheng Yi nodded too. "That was quite detailed. It doesn't sound like a lie made up on the spot. It seems you really are the Seer..."
Li Xin raised her head proudly and was just about to speak again when a voice interrupted her.
"Wait!"
Frowning, Lin Jie said sternly:
"Li Xin, can you tell me what player number Chen Li is?"
Everyone was baffled by Lin Jie's question.
Li Xin looked equally confused. "I don't know. What does that have to do with whether I'm the Seer?"
She paused for two seconds, then continued, "If you want to know, can't you just count the seats?"
But Lin Jie wore a smile. "Why don't you count them yourself?"
"What a pain." Li Xin didn't understand Lin Jie's intent, but she did as he asked. "One, two, three, four..."
"There. He's Number 4."
"So what?"
Lin Jie's smile remained unchanged. "My great Seer, you shouldn't be going through this process now..."
"You should have done it last night!"
Everyone pondered Lin Jie's words, and some of the quicker ones looked up. "So that's it!"
Although Li Xin still didn't know what had happened, she immediately sensed that something was wrong.
She swallowed nervously. "Stop speaking in riddles! What exactly do you mean?"
