Finding Xiao Hei

Despite her privileged position, Qian Renxue grows up with few friends. Her father's duties keep him occupied, while her mother openly rejects her. After Bibi Dong refuses a birthday sachet she embroidered herself, Qian Renxue discovers a black egg in a garden behind the Worship Hall. Imagining that it has also been abandoned, she secretly takes it home, names it Xiao Hei, and confides in it 1.

The egg hatches into Chen Qianqiu, a small black dragon. Delighted, she teasingly declares herself his mother because he hatched beneath her covers. She uses her monthly outing permission to celebrate with him in Spirit City's outer-city market, buying decorations and valuable medicinal herbs for him 2 3.

The Marketplace Confrontation

When Chen Qianqiu shows interest in a dark-red skeletal fragment, Qian Renxue bids one thousand Gold Soul Coins for it. Yu Tianming attempts to intimidate her, while Tang Hu argues that she should relinquish the bone. She refuses because it is useful to Xiao Hei and defeats Yu Tianming after he attacks her 5 6.

Training and Separation

Following the expedition, Qian Xunji intensifies her training. She also accompanies Golden Crocodile Douluo to the Four Great Clans, traveling on Chen Qianqiu's back as Spirit Hall demands their submission 28 29.

As Chen Qianqiu becomes occupied with the clans, Qian Renxue fears that his growing independence means he no longer needs her. He reassures her that his affection does not depend on her usefulness and encourages her to return to Spirit City for special training 33 34.

Her pride and protectiveness are especially visible in public.
