Background / History

Qian Xunji once used extreme means in a secret chamber to keep the exceptionally talented Holy Maiden Bibi Dong in Spirit Hall. He later recognizes this as an insane, selfish decision that destroyed the remaining affection between them and harmed their innocent daughter, Qian Renxue. Although unwilling to openly admit his wrongdoing, he privately regrets it when confronted with his daughter's suffering. His subsequent Soul Beast hunt is motivated in large part by his attempts to repair his relationship with Bibi Dong 10.

As Supreme Pontiff, Qian Xunji holds public authority over Spirit Hall, but its ultimate strength rests with his father, Qian Daoliu. He understands that his father could effectively give the papal throne to someone else, leaving his own political authority subordinate to Qian Daoliu's overwhelming personal power 16.

Personality

Qian Xunji is ambitious, aggressive, and openly committed to expanding Spirit Hall's power. Unlike his father, he resents the independence of the Upper Three Sects and wishes Qian Daoliu would help make Spirit Hall the continent's sole ruler. He regards valuable resources—and talented opponents who cannot be recruited—in terms of their effect on Spirit Hall's supremacy 10 17 23 24.

His ruthlessness includes exploiting promises rather than honoring their obvious intent. After telling Tang Hao he may leave if he survives one attack, Qian Xunji orders Light Feather Douluo to kill him, arguing that only his own further participation was restricted. Nevertheless, he can abandon aggression when faced with an unexplained threat, ordering a retreat after the appearance of the Asura baleful aura 24 25 26.

Toward Qian Renxue, he is affectionate, indulgent, and protective, but conscious that his duties have left her lonely. He praises her assertiveness rather than demanding obedience at the expense of her dignity. His desire to appear capable before her also leads him to pretend he recognizes Chen Qianqiu's species when he does not 9 10.

Qian Xunji manifests a radiant angelic figure whose golden light illuminates half the night sky and whose pressure weighs upon an entire valley 23.

His Ninth Soul Skill fully materializes the Six-Winged Angel and releases a descending torrent of golden power, making the valley tremble and even disturbing space along its path 24.

Response to the Marketplace Incident

After hidden guards report the confrontation involving Qian Renxue, Yu Tianming, and Tang Hu, Qian Xunji praises his daughter for retaliating and reassures her that spending money is not wrongdoing. Once she leaves, he resolves to demand explanations from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Clear Sky Sect 9 10.

He personally visits the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, securing an apology from Yu Yuanzhen and rare medicinal herbs as compensation. The Clear Sky Sect remains silent. When he raises these disputes and Tang Hao's suspected protection of a transformed Soul Beast with Qian Daoliu, his father refuses to intervene and warns him against provoking mutual destruction 16.

Hunt for Ah Yin

Qian Xunji leads the expedition himself. He reluctantly permits Qian Renxue to accompany him after her persistent pleading; Qian Daoliu then sends Demon Subduing Douluo, Qian Jun Douluo, and Light Feather Douluo specifically to protect her 17 20.

During the interception, he offers to spare Tang Hao if he abandons Ah Yin. When Tang Hao invokes the Clear Sky Sect, Qian Xunji orders Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo to kill him. Their failure prompts him to enter battle personally and unleash Angel's Glory 22 23 24.

Tang Hao survives, injures him, and escapes with Ah Yin through the smoke. Qian Xunji orders Light Feather Douluo to pursue, but a blood-black force destroys her attack. After Chen Qianqiu devours the Asura baleful aura, Qian Xunji halts the pursuit because of the unexplained circumstances and returns to Spirit Hall alive 24 25 26.

Peace Talks and the Four Great Clans

Following the encounter, Qian Xunji intensifies Qian Renxue's training and begins supplying Chen Qianqiu with large quantities of cultivation resources 27 28.

He subsequently visits the Clear Sky Sect under the banner of peace talks, primarily to investigate the mysterious presence encountered during the hunt. As a gesture of sincerity, he promises to stop pursuing Ah Yin. Sect Master Tang Wei reciprocates by handing over the Strength Clan, Defense Clan, Speed Clan, and Breaking Clan to Spirit Hall; Golden Crocodile Douluo is assigned to oversee their takeover 28.
