The Utterly Unremarkable Tushan Rongrong
After receiving his tip, the waiter worked briskly, soon bringing Luo Yang and Tushan Rongrong a whole tableful of sumptuous dishes.
The room was luxurious and the food plentiful, but even so, a very generous portion of those ten gold coins remained as a tip.
Luo Yang was already a Two-Star Dou Shi expert. By simply consuming Dou Qi, he could go without food or water for long periods without any ill effects. But he had only transmigrated half a year ago. Habits formed over more than a decade were not something he could change just because he wanted to.
Besides, eating was a pleasure in itself. The Dou Qi Continent had far more varied ingredients than Earth, and the dishes made from them tasted at least as good, if not better. Magical beast meat was especially nourishing.
Tushan Rongrong did not need to eat either. She was eating to keep Luo Yang company.
Besides keeping him company at meals, she also had to provide sleeping companionship and lull-him-to-sleep services at night...
Night fell, and Luo Yang and Tushan Rongrong lay in bed, both wearing only thin pajamas. A breeze blew through the window, dispersing the day's sweltering heat.
Luo Yang hugged Tushan Rongrong, nuzzling his head into her embrace like a child seeking shelter. Only after finding a comfortable position did he slowly fall asleep.
As usual, Tushan Rongrong gently patted Luo Yang's back, her chin resting on top of his head. She sang the little tunes her wet nurse had sung in her childhood to lull this "young master" to sleep. Sometimes, she also told him childish bedtime stories.
If Tushan Rongrong were as big as Tushan Yaya, Luo Yang would have been even more comfortable lying against her.
But it was precisely because Tushan Rongrong was so flat and unremarkable that Luo Yang could hold her without any wicked thoughts arising. Otherwise, he would have been kicked out long ago.
Although Luo Yang could hold Tushan Rongrong and even have her sing nursery rhymes to lull him to sleep, that was founded on his being her "master." What he could do stopped there.
Taking things any further would be as difficult as ascending to heaven.
Luo Yang understood that making Tushan Rongrong truly fall in love with him would be extremely difficult.
A hundred times, ten thousand times harder than conquering Tushan Yaya.
The difficulty of conquering the three Tushan sisters increased progressively: Honghong was the easiest, Yaya was the biggest, and Rongrong was the hardest...
Even if Luo Yang was her "master."
Given Tushan Rongrong's age and experience, Luo Yang, who was not yet twenty, was just a little brat, with a child's disposition at heart as well. She did not regard him as a man at all, only as someone in the same category as Tushan Susu... a younger brother.
That was why she allowed Luo Yang to nestle in her arms and "act spoiled."
Although the figurines Luo Yang activated would have MAX loyalty toward him, loyalty did not equal intimacy.
They possessed the characters' own personalities, traits, and cultivation. They would also possess the corresponding memories and strength based on the background and time setting used as references when the figurines were made.
For example, if Luo Yang activated a figurine of the young Tushan Yaya, she would not possess the grown-up Yaya's memories, nor the formidable Demonic Power of Absolute Zero Domain that awed both the human and demon realms.
Luo Yang had bought four figurines of Tushan Yaya alone.
A 1/4-scale adult version,
a 1/6-scale childhood version,
a cute chibi childhood version,
and a 1:1 life-size adult wife version.
Luo Yang had also bought more than one figurine or piece of merchandise of the same characters from many other films, shows, and games. With his collecting obsession, he had bought practically everything available on the market, and paid extra to get what was not.
It was not that Luo Yang was particularly rich. He simply did not date, get married, go for foot baths or massages, or sing at karaoke. He could never spend all the monthly living allowance his parents gave him. He simply could not.
As for spending money on games... the operators had already said that you only had the right to use your account, not ownership of it.
So Luo Yang spent all his money buying figurines instead. Only what he actually held in his hands belonged to him.
His family was reasonably well-off, and his parents gave him a substantial living allowance every month. But even so, there had been one occasion when he spent his freshly received allowance on figurines and survived the remaining twenty-nine days on instant noodles and his roommates' meal cards.
That night, Luo Yang slept very comfortably and had a lovely dream...
Although Tushan Rongrong was very flat, she also smelled wonderful.
As the night slowly passed, the blazing sun once again enveloped the desert in scorching heat.
Walking out of There Is an Inn, Luo Yang stretched and twisted his hips, feeling fantastic.
Ever since transmigrating, he had never been in a bad mood.
Adventuring through another world with a beauty at his side always set his blood surging.
On the street leading to Mo City's gate, Luo Yang and Tushan Rongrong waited for the late Hai Bodong.
About two and a half minutes later, Hai Bodong finally arrived.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting."
Looking toward the voice, Luo Yang and Tushan Rongrong both froze when they got a clear look at Hai Bodong.
Tushan Rongrong, in particular, even opened her narrowed eyes.
Hai Bodong, previously unkempt and slovenly, had now trimmed his overgrown white beard and hair. His skin had far fewer wrinkles, and his eyes were firmer and more spirited. He wore a light gray combat outfit, and the powerful definition of his muscles made even Luo Yang a little envious.
Where was even a trace of yesterday's sleazy old man?
He was the very picture of a middle-aged man enjoying a second spring in life!
Some young women who liked older men would probably climax on the spot at the sight of him.
"What is it?" Seeing both Luo Yang and Tushan Rongrong looking at him strangely, Hai Bodong felt his face, thinking there was something dirty on it.
"Nothing. It's getting late. Let's get going." Holding back his laughter, Luo Yang turned and walked away.
Hai Bodong was baffled, but he still followed.
Under the awed gazes of the soldiers guarding the gate, the three left Mo City.
Before their eyes lay an endless expanse of golden desert.
On the evening of the day Luo Yang's group left Mo City, a black-robed youth carrying a huge black-iron ruler stepped into Mo City...
Across the boundless desert, windblown sand raged.
The two humans and one demon slowly pressed onward against the wind and sand. Behind them, the rows of footprints sunk deep into the yellow sand were covered moments later by the blowing sand, hiding every trace beneath the desert.
The harshness of the Tagor Desert's environment somewhat exceeded Luo Yang's expectations. Under the blazing sun, the yellow sand beneath his feet was almost like scalding grains of iron, making his lips twitch involuntarily with every step.
As they walked slowly onward, the fierce wind blowing into their faces carried fine sand that stung as it struck. This forced Luo Yang to circulate his Dou Qi constantly, forming a faint Dou Qi gauze over his face. Only then did he avoid entering old age ahead of schedule.
Tushan Rongrong and Hai Bodong were a Dou Wang expert and a Dou Huang expert respectively, so naturally, they had nothing to fear from this little wind and sand. Only Luo Yang suffered. As a mere Dou Shi, he could only endure these hardships head-on.
Back in the Magical Beast Mountain Range, Luo Yang had given the Seven-Colored Poison Scripture and the Flying Dou Technique-Purple Cloud Wings-to Xiao Yi Xian as gifts. Otherwise, the three of them could have simply flown there.
