Previous Life and Reincarnation

In her previous life, Ye Zhaolu was Ye Xishui, the Death God Douluo. Near death after an attack by the Sun Moon Empire, Ye Xishui confessed that she had always loved Long Xiaoyao and had borne his child. Their child’s descendants included Yan Shaozhe. She attributed their separation and deception to Zhongli’s schemes 2.

Before the dying couple could transfer their power to Huo Yuhao and Tang Wutong, Li Chen intervened through the Tree of Sorrow and offered them another life. His Reincarnation and Renewal of Fate brought them into the Dragon King era, where Ye Xishui became Ye Zhaolu 2 3.

Childhood and Research Career

Ye Zhaolu grew up in a financially constrained Mingdu household. Her parents were ordinary people who operated a small restaurant. After awakening the Bright Phoenix, she entered the Central Advanced Soul Master Academy rather than Shrek and demonstrated exceptional talent in her second profession 5 21.

She became deputy director of the Federal Research Institute, working on cutting-edge soul guidance and biological regeneration technology. Her central research goal, pursued since childhood, was Martial Soul reconstruction; human body regeneration technology emerged as a byproduct 3 5 24.

Reunion with Long Xiaoyao

Li Chen located Ye Zhaolu and persuaded her to attend Long Xiaoyao’s challenge against Zhuo Shi. Initially uninterested in matchmaking, she attended in a loose white suit intended to discourage romantic attention. Surgery, Arrest, and Rescue

Ye Zhaolu chose to test Martial Soul Reshaping Surgery on herself to remove the danger posed by her evil second Martial Soul. Although she had never cultivated it, she wanted to stand openly beside Long Xiaoyao without threatening his future. She instructed her assistant, A Lan, to kill her with the laboratory’s Soul Tools if the experiment went wrong 24.

With the procedure nearly complete and her Soul Power temporarily dispersed, Cai Yue’er broke into the laboratory. She killed A Lan, accused Ye Zhaolu of being an Evil Soul Master, and arrested her. Shrek subsequently publicized the arrest 25 26.

After three days of torture, Ye Zhaolu still refused to falsely accuse Long Xiaoyao of conspiring with the Holy Spirit Cult. While Chen Xinjie and Long Yeyue supported her execution, Yu Guanzhi secured a delay in proceedings 27.

Long Xiaoyao stormed the Federation Court to rescue her. When Cai Yue’er held her hostage, he pierced both women with his Dark Dragon Claw, deliberately avoiding Ye Zhaolu’s vital points while destroying Cai Yue’er’s Soul Core. He escaped with Ye Zhaolu into Mingdu’s underground passages 28 30.

Exoneration and Recovery

Li Chen recovered A Lan’s recording of the surgery and presented evidence that Cai Yue’er had framed Ye Zhaolu and colluded with the Holy Spirit Cult. The footage established that Ye Zhaolu had never cultivated her evil Martial Soul and had genuinely attempted to reshape it. Their wanted notices were later lifted 30 31 34.

By their next visit to Li Chen, her injuries had healed and the surgery was confirmed a complete success. The Federation launched a research project based on her invention. Ye Zhaolu also sought a way to repair Long Xiaoyao’s damaged prospects, asking whether Li Chen’s supposed Divine Test could overcome the harm caused by burning his origin during her rescue 36.
