Life in Beta-7

Lin Yue grew up as the only child of Lin Shuo and Orphie in Beta-7. Unlike his primary-timeline counterpart, her father never retired from Obsidian Camp. He and Orphie grew close through military service, eventually raising Lin Yue together. Both parents trained her to survive their increasingly dangerous world 16 17 24.

Her memories combine military hardship with ordinary family affection. Her father secretly prepared late-night snacks and called them “training provisions.” Her mother was gentle at home but strict during training; during one Ether storm, Orphie and Willowisp sheltered Lin Yue and her father, suffering serious injuries 17.

The system identified Beta-7 as an apocalyptic disaster zone with an 87% Defense Force casualty rate. Lin Yue's father had died three months before her arrival while opposing the Order's ritual to summon the Primordial One. The system described her as the sole surviving bloodline 16.

Arrival and threatened disappearance

Lin Yue remembered her father leaving for an urgent mission and telling her to wait at home. After falling asleep, she awoke in a dark, rocky place. Unidentified adults brought her to the outpost, where she recognized the younger Lin Shuo and Orphie as her parents 16.

She carried a preserved pair of her original father's Mangekyō Sharingan. He had instructed her to keep them safe and use them when she grew older and needed power 16.

Her arrival did not initially guarantee her survival. With Beta-7 near destruction, the primary spacetime was gradually assimilating her existence. The system imposed a 72-hour deadline: Lin Shuo had to accept her as his daughter, she had to acknowledge him as her father, and Orphie's trust in him had to reach a sufficient level. Failure would erase Lin Yue completely 16.

Lin Shuo accepted responsibility, temporarily rejoined the unit, and requested investigations into spacetime anomalies and stabilization research. Willowisp assigned Orphie to handle Lin Yue's daily care 16 17.

Joining the household

While training at Scott Outpost, Lin Yue began developing a bond with this timeline's Orphie. She also worried about whether Beta-7 could be saved and whether Lin Shuo would miss her if she returned. He promised that she would remain his daughter regardless of timeline 17 23.

At Lumina Square, Lin You initially demanded an explanation for the unfamiliar girl calling Lin Shuo “Dad.” Once she understood their different origins, she welcomed seven-year-old Lin Yue as her younger sister. Yuzuha offered cookies and gradually relaxed around her, despite her own complicated feelings about Orphie 24.

Lin Yue helped prepare the ramen stall, played cat's cradle with Lin You, and asked Lin Shuo to teach her to make ramen. By the end of their first evening together, her emotional stability had reached 84% 24.

Stabilization and later life

Lin Yue's existence stabilized after Lin Shuo reassured Orphie that they could find their own relationship rather than reproduce their counterparts' lives. The system recorded Orphie's affection at 81%, Lin Shuo's inner acceptance at 87%, and Lin Yue's emotional stability at 91%. Her assimilation risk fell to 0%, allowing her to remain safely until she found a way home or chose to stay permanently 29.

She later alerted Lin Shuo that Shukaku was hiding and feeling unwell, helping bring his rejection by the world to attention 30. During Little Mu's rampage, Lin Yue kept her three tomoe stable but became pale and struggled to endure the situation; Lin Shuo sent her and the others out before treating Little Mu 43 44.

Before leaving to train Hoshimi Saki at Section 6, Lin Shuo spent a week with the household and promised to return at least weekly. The system subsequently described Lin Yue as adapting well, with her relationship with Orphie continuing to progress 49.

Appearance

Lin Yue resembles Orphie, sharing her orange hair and green eyes. She is small and light enough for Lin Shuo to carry easily 16 23.

Personality

Lin Yue is reserved, obedient, and strongly attached to her parents. In unfamiliar social situations, she often checks Lin Shuo's reaction before accepting food or responding to an adult. Praise can embarrass her, but she gradually becomes more comfortable around Lin You, Yuzuha, and the ramen stall's customers 24 25.

Her upbringing in Beta-7 left her unusually vigilant. Even on the safer streets of Lumina Square, she tightly holds Lin Shuo's hand and scans her surroundings with the Sharingan. She worries about her original world, separation from her father, and whether this timeline's Orphie will be hurt by Lin Shuo's different romantic choices 23 36.

Despite her combat maturity, she enjoys ordinary childhood activities, including cookies, cat's cradle, petting animals, and learning to cook. She and Lin You even argue over whose fried eggs their father prefers 24 26 49.
