She is proud of her talent but increasingly motivated by Gui Yuan’s rapid progress. Although she initially insists that Bibi Dong’s cultivation plan cannot be wrong, she eventually recognizes its weaknesses and asks her teacher to revise it. Her repeated failures to charm him expose a practical weakness in her cultivation. Gui Yuan recommends broadening her abilities, but she initially defends her teacher’s plan and relies on her fusion with Xie Yue as a safeguard 10.

Revising Her Cultivation Path

After six months of reflection, Hu Liena asks Bibi Dong to expand her development beyond a purely mental path. She proposes retaining mental-attribute rings while diversifying her mental skills and cultivating Foxfire offense. Bibi Dong accepts and agrees to adjust her future ring configuration 12.

Yan’s Challenge

During an outing in Spirit City, Hu Liena’s closeness with Gui Yuan aggravates Yan’s jealousy. She apologizes for Yan’s hostility, tells him to stop making trouble, and prepares to intervene when he challenges Gui Yuan 26.

After Gui Yuan defeats and injures Yan, she reports the incident to Bibi Dong. She later tells Gui Yuan that Yan has lost his whale-rubber supply and half his cultivation resources for two years, then checks whether Gui Yuan was hurt 27 28 29.

The Ten-Thousand-Year Fourth Ring

After reaching level 40 and absorbing her skull bone, Hu Liena travels to Star Dou Great Forest with Bibi Dong and Xie Yue. Bibi Dong selects a Soul Devouring Flame Fox between ten thousand and thirteen thousand years old as a suitable target 30 32.

Hu Liena successfully absorbs its ring, reaches rank 43, and obtains Mental Detonation. Upon returning, she immediately seeks out Gui Yuan to boast that her new skill’s burning effect gives her a way to threaten him 33 34.
