Background / History

Tang San is the son of Tang Hao and Ah Yin, the Blue Silver Emperor. After Ah Yin sacrificed herself, she returned to the form of Blue Silver Grass. Tang Hao concealed her behind a waterfall near Holy Soul Village and saved her hundred-thousand-year right leg Soul Bone for their son rather than absorbing it himself 16 17.

Yu Xiaogang recognized Tang San’s twin Martial Souls before accepting him as a disciple. In the previous timeline, he sought Bibi Dong’s knowledge of twin-Martial-Soul cultivation on Tang San’s behalf. Bibi Dong describes him as treating Tang San like his own child 19.

In the future remembered by the reborn Bibi Dong, Tang San became the Sea God and defeated her and Qian Renxue using the Asura God’s power. Bibi Dong died beneath that power. Her return to Douluo Calendar year 2637 gives her an opportunity to oppose Tang San before he attains godhood 1 11.

Personality

Tang San studies potential opponents carefully. After watching Lin Feng fight Zhao Yan, he identifies Lin Feng’s balanced offense, control, and defense, then considers how his own hidden weapons might counter the Soul Power-devouring skill. Despite examining his options, he remains uncertain of victory 23.

He supports his companions and is particularly protective of Xiao Wu. He volunteers to fight Meng Yiran for Oscar’s Soul Ring, then later pursues the Titan Giant Ape immediately after it carries Xiao Wu away. During that pursuit, rescuing her matters more to him than losing a possible third Soul Ring 27 28 29.

• Yu Xiaogang — Teacher. Recognizes his twin Martial Souls and seeks cultivation guidance for him from Bibi Dong 19.
• Xiao Wu — Close companion who calls him “Brother.” He pursues her captor and embraces her immediately upon her safe return 23 28 30.
• Oscar — Academy companion. Tang San fights in his place to secure a Soul Ring and later uses his Mushroom Sausage to pursue Xiao Wu 27 28.

• Lin Feng — Fellow Shrek student who secretly works to weaken his future prospects. Tang San cooperates with him against the Man Faced Demon Spider without knowing the purpose behind his intervention 23 29.
• Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue — Opponents from the previous timeline. The reborn Bibi Dong seeks to overturn their defeat before he becomes a god 1 11.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Target of Lin Feng’s Intervention

Rather than confront Tang San directly, Lin Feng decides to strengthen himself while taking opportunities Tang San would otherwise receive. His knowledge of the original story allows him to target resources, inherited possessions, and the means of Tang San’s future awakening 11.

Star Dou Great Forest Expedition

Tang San joins the expedition to obtain Oscar’s third Soul Ring. When Chao Tianxiang and Meng Yiran contest ownership of a Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent, he fights Meng Yiran in Oscar’s place and wins through sustained Soul Power output. While recovering afterward, he reaches rank thirty 27.

After the Titan Giant Ape carries Xiao Wu away, Tang San uses a Mushroom Sausage to pursue it. A wounded Man Faced Demon Spider ambushes him and Lin Feng along the route. Tang San assists with Blue Silver Grass, but Lin Feng delivers the killing blow before his crossbow can fire, making the spider’s Soul Ring unavailable to him 28 29.

Xiao Wu’s safe return ends his immediate search. During the journey toward the forest’s outer reaches, he chooses a Soul Locking Vine as a replacement third-ring source. He successfully absorbs its ring and gains Constricting Lock, leaving the expedition with a new control skill but without the Eight Spider Lances 30.
