Background / History

Lin Feng transmigrates shortly before his Martial Soul awakening in Douluo Calendar year 2637. His new body belongs to an orphan who has never met his parents and grew up through the village’s support. Su Yuntao discovers his Innate Full Soul Power and rare Soul Devouring Spider Emperor, securing his recruitment into Spirit Hall 1 3.

His Martial Soul proves to be the reborn Bibi Dong, formerly the Rakshasa God. When she demands complete obedience and eventual revenge, Lin Feng rejects her terms and recalls her into his body. He subsequently awakens Qian Renxue as his second Martial Soul and reunites the mother and daughter. He accepts their cultivation guidance without surrendering control over his decisions 1 2.

After arriving in Spirit City, he becomes the present-era Pope Bibi Dong’s direct disciple on his Martial Soul’s advice. The arrangement gives him access to resources that his two reborn guides cannot provide themselves. He keeps their identities, the Six-Winged Angel, and the Death Spider Emperor form secret from the Pope 3 4.

Over the following six years, Lin Feng combines whale rubber, body tempering, weighted training, combat practice, and devouring-based cultivation. Martial Soul Bibi Dong closely corrects his movements and Soul Power usage, while Hu Liena regularly trains with him 8 9.

Appearance

• Soul Devouring Spider Emperor possession: His eyes become emerald green, green markings appear across his arms, and his arms can transform into sharp spider legs. An enormous green Spider Emperor phantom manifests behind him 5 13.
• Spider Emperor Devil Armor: Emerald armor covers his body, with six additional spider legs extending from his back 9.

Personality

Lin Feng is independent and unwilling to mistake guidance for authority over his life. He refuses Martial Soul Bibi Dong’s demand for unconditional obedience, but readily accepts useful instruction and the Pope’s patronage. When he later agrees to help change Spirit Hall’s future, he insists on judging the methods himself 1 3 11.

His loyalty to Spirit Hall develops through personal experience: the Pope teaches him earnestly, Hu Liena treats him affectionately, and the organization provides a stable cultivation environment. Rather than immediately confronting Tang San, he chooses to strengthen his allies and deny Tang San future opportunities 11.

He is calculating and willing to deceive others for an advantage. He falsely invokes the Pope’s orders to keep Yue Guan from claiming an immortal herb and deliberately provokes the Blue Silver King so his hidden protectors must intervene. At the same time, he recognizes practical limits, refusing to attempt an eighty-five-thousand-year Soul Ring despite possessing a powerful Soul Bone 15 18.

His concern for ordinary people reflects his upbringing on village charity. He fights Dai Mubai to recover families’ registration fees and stops him from striking Ning Rongrong. He nevertheless refuses Ning Rongrong’s demand for further retaliation, pointing out her own role in provoking the dispute 20 23.

Sentient Martial Souls

• Controlled communication: Lin Feng determines whether Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue can transmit thoughts to him; he can silence them entirely. Mental communication remains possible after recalling them 3 4.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Leaving Spirit City

After defeating Yan, Lin Feng obtains permission to travel through the Heaven Dou Empire and gain experience beyond arranged training. He correctly suspects that the Pope has sent Yue Guan and Gui Mei to follow him, but initially pretends not to know 9 10.

He and Martial Soul Bibi Dong agree to change the future by claiming opportunities before Tang San. Lin Feng selects the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well as their first target, intending both to strengthen his side and deny Tang San’s companions the benefits of its immortal herbs 11.

Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Lin Feng penetrates Dugu Bo’s poison formation with toxin-absorbing webs. Caught harvesting herbs, he averts a lethal confrontation by accurately describing Dugu Bo’s recurring poison symptoms and offering treatment 12 13.

His first medicinal solution reduces the discomfort of Dugu Bo’s poison backlash. He converts that success into a two-year protection agreement, secures the usable immortal herbs, and leaves medicine behind before departing on another expedition 15 16.

Taking Tang San’s Inheritance

Using his knowledge of the original story, Lin Feng locates Tang Hao’s hidden cave near Holy Soul Village. He absorbs the Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone and removes Ah Yin with her roots and surrounding soil intact 16 17.

He then tracks down the eighty-five-thousand-year Blue Silver King. Unable to kill it himself, he provokes it into attacking and forces his protectors to intervene. Its death removes the known means by which Tang San would awaken his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline 18.

Shrek Academy

Lin Feng enters Shrek after defeating Dai Mubai and obtaining refunds for rejected applicants’ families. His private objectives include letting Martial Soul Bibi Dong see Yu Xiaogang and joining the forest expedition where Tang San would obtain the Eight Spider Lances 20.

He maintains his own disciplined training routine, wins against Zhao Yan at the Great Soul Arena, and challenges the academy over its poor meals 22 23 24.

After Yue Guan and Gui Mei identify Xiao Wu, Lin Feng persuades the Pope to postpone her capture. He proposes using her connection to the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python to locate all three Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts 21 24.

Star Dou Great Forest Expedition

Lin Feng captures the Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent ultimately awarded to Oscar. After the Titan Giant Ape takes Xiao Wu, he follows Tang San, watching for the Man Faced Demon Spider associated with the Eight Spider Lances 27 28.

He kills the wounded spider before Tang San can finish it, preventing Tang San from absorbing its ring and obtaining the External Soul Bone through that encounter. Lin Feng’s own acquisition of the Eight Spider Lances is not shown. He rejects the spider’s two-thousand-year ring as too young for his fourth ring and instead replenishes his energy from its corpse 29.

After Tang San obtains a different third Soul Ring, Lin Feng remains intent on a ten-thousand-year fourth ring. He asks to revisit an earlier spider nest, agreeing to Zhao Wuji’s warning against acting rashly 30.
