Background / History

Xu Zi was born into the Sun Moon Empire’s imperial Xu family with an ordinary Sun Martial Soul. His eldest imperial brother was the crown prince regent and possessed Twin Martial Souls; Xu Zi did not consider himself comparable to that talent 23 48.

At twelve, he crossed the western ocean to Douluo Continent to induce his Martial Soul’s mutation and obtain dragon-type Soul Rings. Before leaving, he stole the imperial family’s sole captive Devouring Dragon. His destination was Heaven Dou Imperial City, chosen because he knew Dragon Scale Fruit would appear at its auction house in a later era 12 13 23.

He posted an expensive bounty through the auction house and obtained a Thousand-Year Dragon Scale Fruit after two and a half years. Its bloodline-convergence effect awakened the Purple Brilliant Heaven Destroying Dragon, but destroyed his existing rings. He rebuilt his configuration with a Fear Demon Dragon and the Devouring Dragon, then approached Spirit Hall after spending roughly three years in Heaven Dou Imperial City 13 23.

He prefers creating one decisive demonstration of authority over repeatedly defending his position. His challenge to Jin Yu was designed to silence the academy’s other elites, and he chose the Second Team because its members were easier to control. Nevertheless, he respects exceptional talent: after defeating Yu Tianxin, he offers cultivation advice despite recognizing that it could create another competitor for scarce resources 18 35 47.
