Background and History

Bibi Dong is Slaughter City’s eighth Slaughter God and the Rakshasa God’s chosen successor. She previously had a romantic relationship with Yu Xiaogang and is the mother of Qian Renxue, the Angel God’s heir. Xu Zi’s internal narration also identifies her as having devoured the previous Pope alive, a secret protected by Pope Hall’s tight control of information 3 13 24.

During roughly a dozen years of leadership, she brought Spirit Hall into good order through administration and political maneuvering. Her ambitions extend to establishing a Spirit Hall Empire and becoming the continent’s empress. However, her authority over Pope Hall does not give her uncontested control of the Elder Hall or its powerful families 6 9.

Bibi Dong is a purple-haired, purple-eyed woman of relatively short stature, with a mature figure and elaborate papal attire 3.

Her interest in talent is tempered by distrust. Although Xu Zi’s achievements make her consider accepting him as a disciple, his unverifiable overseas identity prevents her from admitting him into Spirit Hall’s center of power. She investigates his background and uses both Huang Ying and Ling Yuan to probe his abilities 2 6 17 23.

She also displays a protective side. She patiently teaches Xu Zi about Soul Power attributes, reassures Huang Ying after her injury, and insists that Xu Zi must never force himself on a woman. After a cardinal reports Xu Zi’s claims about the Sun Moon Continent, Bibi Dong orders an investigation into his origins and possible connection to Heaven Dou’s Zhang Clan. During their first audience, she briefly considers overseas expansion, but shelves the idea because a major military expedition would have to contend with Sea God Island 2 3.

Xu Zi offers the Soul Core Condensation and Shaping Method in exchange for rare cultivation resources. Bibi Dong recognizes its strategic value, but its Soul Saint-level minimum and potentially fatal spiritual-power requirements rule out widespread adoption among her lower-ranked forces. She destroys the written copy, transfers the admissions director who knows of it into confidential instruction, and later summons high-ranking Soul Douluos to an emergency overnight meeting 3 10.

Testing Xu Zi and Granting the Pope Token

Bibi Dong rewards Xu Zi with a Thousand-Year Dragon Scale Fruit, requests a Golden Crocodile for his third ring, and commissions a continent-wide search for a Tyrant Dragon and further fruit. She also encourages him to develop a fused Soul Power attribute and promises to place his Martial Soul on new Pope Tokens if he becomes a Super Douluo 4 5 6.

Her attempt to test his strength and obedience through a match with Huang Ying backfires when he wins and injures the older student. Xu Zi requests a Pope Token as compensation. When the Golden Crocodile Family supplies a 2,100-year-old beast—above the accepted third-ring limit but poorly suited to a fourth ring—Bibi Dong recognizes the challenge to her authority and grants him both the Heaven Prison Pope Token and the bracelet containing the beast 6 7 8 9 10.

Renewed Investigation

Bibi Dong sends Ling Yuan to question Xu Zi and secretly test his limits. Her decree subsequently orders his placement on the academy’s first team, with Ling Yuan enforcing compliance when its members object 17 18.

At their next audience, Bibi Dong learns that Xu Zi has defeated Jin Yu and apparently absorbed the 2,100-year Golden Crocodile as his third ring. Impressed by his breach of the recorded Golden Configuration limit, she considers taking him as a disciple, but rejects the idea because his origins cannot be verified. She then confronts him about his three years in Heaven Dou Imperial City and accepts his explanation that he had been waiting for a Dragon Scale Fruit to mutate his Sun Martial Soul 23.

Securing Further Cultivation Resources

Bibi Dong obtains a Ten-Thousand-Year Dragon Scale Fruit through the Star Luo district’s Platinum Bishop, using his annual inspection opportunity and more than four million Gold Soul Coins. Xu Zi asks her to keep it until after the grand finals because consuming it could compromise his control and tournament participation 25.

The search also locates the Tyrant Dragon in the Star Luo Empire. Its cave is traced from a mountain of dragon-beast remains where the fruit grew. After local teams decline to attempt a capture, Bibi Dong dispatches Gui Mei to retrieve it 25.
