Dai Huabin has golden hair, which changes dramatically when he activates his White Tiger Martial Soul 54.

• Hands and claws: His hands grow to three times their normal size, develop white fur, and produce retractable, blade-sharp claws eight inches long 54.
• White Tiger Vajra Transformation: His muscles swell enough to burst his upper clothing, while black horizontal stripes appear across his skin 54.

Personality

Dai Huabin places great importance on his family’s prestige and his own reputation. He admires Dai Hao above anyone else and reacts furiously when Huo Yutong suggests that the White Tiger Duke has raised an inferior child. His ambition to challenge his elder brother makes the prospect of losing to a one-ring opponent especially humiliating 55.

His pride is accompanied by cruelty. Forced into a duel with Huo Yutong, he plans to inflict injuries that will trouble her for life. After she overwhelms him, he intends to kill her with the Hell White Tiger and present her death as an accidental consequence of her own challenge 54 55.

He can recognize overwhelming danger: he initially attempts to surrender rather than face Lin Xi’s team. However, repeated defeats turn his resentment into denial and retaliation. He privately assumes Huo Yutong cheated in the advancement assessment, attacks Lin Xi when mocked, and ultimately orders an assassination to escape the consequences of his wager 53 78 83 84.

White Tiger Possession transforms Dai Huabin’s body for close-range combat, enlarging his hands and giving him fur and retractable claws 54.

• Used to intercept Huo Yutong’s sword thrust, but does not prevent the force of her attack from driving him backward 54.
• Together with White Tiger Vajra Transformation, keeps him from immediately suffering grave injuries during her subsequent assault 55.

White Tiger Fierce Light Wave

His second Soul Skill, which gathers light in his mouth for a ranged attack 55.

• He attempts to use its firepower when Emotion Control leaves him unable to compete effectively in close combat.
• Huo Yutong interrupts the attack by punching his chin shut before he can release it 55.

White Tiger Vajra Transformation

His third Soul Skill, activated through a purple Soul Ring, further enlarges his body and muscles 54.

• Used when Huo Yutong’s strength and swordsmanship force him onto the defensive.
• Provides continued protection during her attacks, but does not stop Emotion Control from disrupting his bodily control and nearly collapsing his Soul Skills 54 55.

Hell White Tiger

A Martial Soul Fusion Skill performed with Zhu Lu. Their bodies disappear into a gigantic, transparent white tiger with black stripes and double pupils in its purple eyes 55.

• Its combat strength is comparable to that of a high-level Soul Ancestor 55.
• Dai Huabin considers it his only means of quickly defeating the defense-oriented Xie Huanyue 53.
• Huo Yutong uses Spiritual Detection to locate the fusion’s two-person core, then strikes Dai Huabin with a full-strength Soul Shock. The fusion dissolves, leaving him deeply unconscious and Zhu Lu exhausted 55.

History

White Tiger Duke’s Family

Dai Huabin is the second young master of the White Tiger Duke’s family and the son of Dai Hao. He grows up identifying strongly with the Duke’s Mansion and intends to challenge his elder brother. The family’s longstanding support for Shrek Academy later influences Yan Shaozhe’s reluctance to punish him severely 54 55 84.

Freshman Assessment

Dai Huabin competes alongside Zhu Lu and Cui Yajie. Knowing that Lin Xi defeated Xie Huanyue with one kick, he plans to activate the Hell White Tiger immediately, eliminate Huo Yutong and Wang Dong, and then overwhelm Lin Xi. Melusine disrupts the plan by knocking him down and restraining both teammates before the fusion can form 53.

Recognizing that his team cannot win, Dai Huabin tries to surrender. Lin Xi instead offers to let the match depend on a duel between him and Huo Yutong. Dai Huabin rejects what he views as charity, but Yan Shaozhe instructs the referee to make the duel proceed 53 54.

Huo Yutong chooses to fight him personally to pursue her vengeance. Her swordsmanship and enhanced strength force him to use White Tiger Vajra Transformation, after which Emotion Control leaves him barely able to retaliate. She then has Zhu Lu released and challenges their fusion. Her full-strength Soul Shock destroys the Hell White Tiger and leaves Dai Huabin unconscious 54 55.

Advancement Assessment Wager

At the beginning of the next semester, Dai Huabin publicly mocks Lin Xi and Huo Yutong over their core disciple status. An unseen strike sends him into the classroom wall, and Zhu Lu takes him to the infirmary. His injuries are healed within two minutes of arrival, but he blames Lin Xi for making him miss the assessment briefing 74 76.

The dispute becomes a wager over Dai Huabin’s and Huo Yutong’s assessment scores: the losing side must apologize using wording chosen by the winner. Confident in his level-37 cultivation, Dai Huabin accepts. His victory over a thousand-year lion earns 140 points, but Huo Yutong defeats a thousand-year Wind Wolf and receives 150 76 77 78.

When Lin Xi presses him to honor the wager, Dai Huabin attempts to punch him. Huo Yutong knocks Dai Huabin down before the blow lands. Questioned by Wang Yan, he admits the wager is genuine, and Lin Xi gives him two days before the apology 78.

Assassination Attempt and Expulsion

To avoid the humiliating apology, Dai Huabin sends five Soul Kings and one Soul Emperor after Lin Xi and his companions outside Shrek City. Lin Xi deliberately draws the attackers out, and Artoria defeats all six. Using his necromancer Martial Soul, Lin Xi compels the Soul Emperor to identify Dai Huabin as the person who ordered the assassination 82 83 84.

Yan Shaozhe initially offers compensation and a permanent ban on Dai Huabin entering the inner court. Lin Xi rejects this settlement. Dai Huabin still has to read a ten-minute apology before the class, accepting blame and criticizing the Duke’s Mansion’s failure to educate him properly 84.

Lin Xi then broadcasts the recorded confession throughout Shrek Academy. The resulting dispute reaches the Sea God Pavilion, where Mu En condemns the academy’s handling of the case and orders Dai Huabin’s expulsion. Shrek subsequently issues an official notice confirming the recording’s authenticity, announcing his expulsion, and requiring Dai Hao to apologize in person 85 86 87 92.

Later, Lin Xi secretly sends Melusine to retrieve Dai Huabin. She brings him over and throws him to the ground while Yan Shaozhe is fetching Dai Yueheng 95.

• Dai Hao — Father and the person Dai Huabin admires most. Insults directed at Dai Hao provoke intense anger; Dai Huabin’s assassination scheme ultimately forces the duke to apologize personally 55 92.
