Seeking Chaos Origin for his unusually difficult Spirit Sea breakthrough, Lin Fan learned of Xiao Huohuo through Ji Changju and Ji Kun. He recognized the Kun Sect’s account as potentially one-sided but accepted it as a useful pretext to pursue another Son of Fortune 25 26 27.

Before departing, he confronted Tang Yin over accusations against his elder clan sister, Lin Yanran. At the Drunken Immortal Pavilion, Lin Fan encountered Xiao Huohuo and killed Wang Song after the imperial-clan prodigy mocked his cultivation. He then entered the newly opened Primordial Chaos Realm with Ji Kun 32 34.

Inside, Lin Fan killed Wang Bo, reached the summit of the thousand-step cloud stairway, and obtained the Ancient God Body Refining Art and Heaven-Swallowing Demonic Art. Cultivating these inheritances strengthened his physique and enabled his return to the Spirit Sea Realm 36 37 38 39.

Personality

Before recovering his memories, Lin Fan was deeply attached to Liu Yanran and repeatedly prevented Uncle Fu from killing her, even once threatening suicide. Her betrayal ended that attachment: he refused reconciliation and personally killed her despite her attempts to appeal to their engagement 7 11.

His initial attempts to argue his innocence give way to the conviction that strength determines the rules of his new world. He becomes openly ruthless, treating humiliation, coercion, and the destruction of enemy factions as both retaliation and opportunities to earn Villain Points 2 4 23 30.

Lin Fan is also calculating and theatrical. He feigns helplessness to draw ambushers out, uses public etiquette to extort hostile Great Emperors, and recognizes convenient excuses for hunting Sons of Fortune without necessarily believing every accusation against them 23 24 27 39.

His ruthlessness does not extend indiscriminately to those close to him.
