Background / History
Great Emperor Tianchen’s Rebirth
In his previous life, Luo Chen was Great Emperor Tianchen, a figure remembered for a declaration made a hundred thousand years earlier. Reborn as Quasi-Emperor Shenshang’s illegitimate son, he intended to return to the Great Emperor Realm and take revenge. The target of that revenge is not identified in the supplied account 2 7.
The Grand Elder repeatedly saved him and treated him like a son. Luo Chen believed that without his master’s help, he might never have successfully been reborn in Luo Chen’s body 7.
The Plot Against Lin Fan
At the Primordial Holy Land, Luo Chen cultivated a reputation for righteousness and generosity. He led disciples into secret realms and distributed cultivation resources, earning enough support that many regarded him as the rightful Holy Son rather than Lin Fan 1.
He coveted the resources attached to Lin Fan’s position and the opportunity to obtain Great Emperor Taichu’s inheritance. After discovering Mengdie’s Supreme Yin Sacred Body, a prized human-cauldron physique, he assaulted her, promised her substantial benefits, and arranged to blame Lin Fan. Liu Yanran, who was secretly involved with Luo Chen despite being Lin Fan’s fiancée, drugged Lin Fan and helped carry out the scheme 1 2.
During the judgment, Luo Chen prompted Mengdie to identify Lin Fan as her attacker and portray Luo Chen as her rescuer. The false accusation triggered Lin Fan’s Invincible Villain System, which subsequently exposed Luo Chen’s identity and plans to Lin Fan 1 2.
Exposure and Defeat
Uncle Fu’s arrival confirmed Lin Fan’s identity as the Lin Clan’s Imperial Scion. When Lin Fan publicly revealed Luo Chen’s conspiracy, the Holy Land’s disciples turned against their formerly admired senior brother. Luo Chen attempted to escape with his master, but Uncle Fu intercepted them 3 4.
Luo Chen secretly summoned Luo Clan reinforcements while the Grand Elder fought Uncle Fu. He then tried to capture Lin Fan as a hostage, assuming that Lin Fan had already committed his only imperial weapon to his protector’s battle. Lin Fan instead revealed two more imperial weapons and used their pressure to force Luo Chen to his knees 5.
Lin Fan crippled Luo Chen’s cultivation and offered to spare his master if he begged. Luo Chen abandoned his pride and pleaded, but the Supreme Elder intervened against the Grand Elder, allowing Uncle Fu to kill him. Luo Chen then watched the destruction of the Primordial Holy Land and tried unsuccessfully to secure his release by invoking his former identity and Luo Clan backing 6 7.
Death and Aftermath
Lin Fan gouged out Luo Chen’s Double Pupils before delivering the killing blow. In a final counterattack, Luo Chen sacrificed his emperor soul to unleash the Ancient Forbidden Immortal-Slaying Curse. The attack struck and shattered Lin Fan’s dantian, but Lin Fan’s imperial weapon reduced Luo Chen to blood mist. Lin Fan struck the remains repeatedly to ensure his death 8.
Shenshang and a Luo Clan Great Emperor arrived too late to save him. Their attempt to kill Lin Fan drew Lin Dong into the conflict; Shenshang died under the residual force of Lin Dong’s sword attack. The ensuing retaliation ultimately cost the Luo Clan two Great Emperors and forced it into seclusion 8 10 14.
Luo Chen’s curse did not permanently cripple Lin Fan: the Chaos Gods and Devils Body later consumed it. Nevertheless, Lin Fan remembered Luo Chen’s last attack as a warning against underestimating Sons of Fortune 11 13 32.
Appearance
- Facial features: Sword-like brows and starry eyes 1.
- Distinguishing trait: Innate Double Pupils, later gouged out by Lin Fan 2 8.
Personality
Luo Chen concealed his ambition behind a helpful, righteous public image. His generosity earned the disciples’ trust, while privately he manipulated Mengdie’s testimony and Liu Yanran’s relationship with Lin Fan to eliminate a rival and seize cultivation resources 1 2.
His previous life left him exceptionally proud. He initially remained composed when escape seemed possible, but being forced to kneel before Lin Fan enraged him. He regarded that humiliation as a stain that would remain even if he regained emperorship or attained immortality 5.
His affection for his master outweighed that pride: he begged for the Grand Elder’s life despite remembering himself as someone who would rather die than yield. At the end, his hatred of Lin Fan drove him to sacrifice his emperor soul for revenge, even at the risk of never reincarnating again 7 8.
Abilities & Skills
Innate Double Pupils
A natural talent identified by the system as an important part of Luo Chen’s abilities 2 8.
- Lin Fan removed them before killing him 8.
- Their removal triggered Lin Fan’s separate reward, the World-Destroying Double Pupils. The creation-and-destruction powers described for that reward are not established abilities of Luo Chen’s original eyes 8.
Reincarnated Emperor’s Methods
Luo Chen retained knowledge and trump cards from his life as Great Emperor Tianchen 5 8.
- Cross-realm combat: Credited with killing an early-stage Heavenly Dipper expert while at the seventh level of Spirit Sea 5.
- Movement technique: Used to evade objects thrown by the hostile disciples 4.
- Limit: His current body remained a Spirit Sea cultivator. Lin Fan’s two imperial weapons immobilized him and prevented him from using his other trump cards 5.
Ancient Forbidden Immortal-Slaying Curse
A final curse condensed from Luo Chen’s emperor soul, also called the Immortal-Exterminating Curse in later accounts 8 11 13.
- Pierced Lin Fan’s dantian and shattered his cultivation foundation 8.
- Required Luo Chen to sacrifice his emperor soul 8.
- Resisted removal attempts by Lin Clan experts, but was eventually devoured by Lin Fan’s Chaos Gods and Devils Body 11 13.
