History
Ancient Supremacy and Concealed Strength
The Lin Clan was regarded as Archaic’s foremost imperial clan in ancient times. It suffered devastating losses in an ancient war, and rival orthodoxies later resisted any prospect of it reclaiming its former supremacy. Its valuable resources also attracted factions seeking to test its remaining strength 9 21.
Its apparent weakness was not the whole truth. The Third Elder states that the clan had deliberately concealed itself and feigned weakness to avoid becoming a common target. Surviving ancestors likewise refer to a deception maintained since ancient times and disguise themselves before returning to the outside world 13 18.
Intervention at the Primordial Holy Land
The clan’s involvement becomes public when Uncle Fu, the Godslayer Saint King, intervenes in Lin Fan’s trial. He kills the Fifth Elder and bows to Lin Fan as the clan’s Imperial Scion, exposing the status that the holy land had failed to recognize 3.
The confrontation escalates when the Luo Clan’s Quasi-Emperor Shenshang wounds Uncle Fu and threatens Lin Fan. Summoned through his son’s token, Lin Dong blocks the attack, kills Shenshang with residual sword Qi, and pursues the Luo Family Ancestor 9 10.
Retaliation Against the Luo Clan
After learning that Luo Chen’s curse had endangered Lin Fan, Lin Canghai and the elders prepare to retaliate. The Second Elder proposes summoning the ancestors, but Lin Canghai insists that he and Lin Dong can handle the Luo Clan without exposing the clan’s deeper reserves 13.
Lin Canghai intercepts four Luo Family Ancestors while Lin Dong kills the wounded Great Emperor Baiyun. The campaign forces the Luo Clan into seclusion and prompts other factions to forbid their members from offending the Lin Clan 14 15.
Protection of Lin Fan
Lin Fan’s physique awakening and record-breaking tribulation draw renewed attention to the clan. Four ancestors emerge to protect him, but Extreme Emperor Ancestor rules that they should not interfere with his development or compete to become his teacher 18 19.
After the tribulation, a hidden Great Emperor attempts to assassinate Lin Fan. The restored Immortal Annihilation Formation destroys both the attack and the assassin. Lin Dong identifies the attacker as a late-stage Great Emperor deathsworn and suspects Wang Clan involvement, although he cannot obtain concrete proof 22 23.
Lin Fan then uses the clan’s experts and formation to pressure the visiting factions into presenting congratulatory gifts. Great Emperor Chiyan surrenders black flame emperor stone before leaving; Ancestor Virtue secretly follows him with orders to kill him away from witnesses. A later Luo Clan discussion attributes Chiyan’s death to a Lin Clan expert 23 24 30.
Conflicts Beyond the Clan Grounds
Tang Yin visits the clan to accuse Lin Yanran of causing his mother’s death. Lin Fan exposes the concealed Blue Silver Emperor blood essence within him, while Uncle Fu suppresses his subsequent attack. Despite the accompanying ancestor’s suicide plea for mercy, Lin Fan orders retaliation and Uncle Fu destroys Haotian Holy Land 28 29.
The conflict with Xiao Huohuo develops through the subordinate Kun Sect. After Xiao Huohuo injures a Lin Clan Sage and escapes, Lin Fan orders Xiao Tianzhan killed and the Xiao Clan exterminated. His system also reveals a possible future in which Xiao Huohuo destroys the Lin Clan, strengthening his determination to eliminate him 26 28 30.
Inside the Primordial Chaos Realm, Lin Fan defeats the Wang, Luo, and Feng factions’ attempt to trap him. His later killings of Luo Tianci and Wang Kunlong earn him a place on the Heavenly Pride Ranking; the Wang and Luo elders subsequently learn that none of their participating disciples survived 38 41 50.
