An ancient people built the Star Palace to seal an evil power capable of destroying heaven and earth. The Demon-Sealing Abyss formed a weak point in this seal; its gradual deterioration allowed Demon Qi to escape and threaten the cultivation world 18.

The Devil Master of High Antiquity states that immortals imprisoned his Primordial Spirit within the palace during an ancient war. A cultivator later encountered as the immortal corpse sacrificed his own Primordial Spirit to reinforce the seal, accepting eternal imprisonment to preserve the world’s peace 21 22. Images preserved inside the palace also show the Ancient Witch Clan manipulating the ancient conflict 31.

Discovery and Destruction Crisis

After the immortal corpse’s destruction, a dark-gold light entered Lin Wudao’s consciousness and revealed a palace hidden among the stars. Its gates bore patterns identical to those on the Star Spirit-Guiding Formation Diagram. Further memories exposed its sealing purpose, prompting the Jade Void Palace to investigate while rival factions sought its secrets 17 18. Lin Wudao subsequently obtained the palace’s coordinates after destroying the Fallen Immortal Ancient Demon’s core 19.

The Lord of the Devil-Sealing Abyss seized star chart fragments and forcibly activated the palace’s destruction sequence. Tianxuzi’s attempt to attack the Lord accelerated the falling meteors rather than stopping them 20. As the Lord absorbed the palace’s sealing patterns, Lin Wudao merged with its source power and reforged the abyss’s seal. His companions believed him lost, but his consciousness survived within the palace 21.

Lin Wudao’s Return

Stellar power nourished Lin Wudao’s soul beside the immortal corpse’s remains in Immortal Burial Valley. After absorbing the corpse’s chain runes, he entered the palace in soul form and encountered the imprisoned Devil Master 22.

Lin Wudao attempted Falling Star Sacrifice against him, shaking the palace and cracking its interior space. The Chaos Heaven-Devouring Instruction then absorbed the Devil Master’s source power, completing Lin Wudao’s soul transformation and granting him the Falling Star Physique 22. The Devil Master survived and attacked again outside the palace; Lin Wudao exploited his remaining connection to its restraints to destroy his body, though part of his primordial spirit escaped 23.

Struggle for the Second Level

The Ancient Witch Clan attempted to locate the palace with a blood-colored compass, then circulated jade slips advertising a method for opening its second level. Lin Wudao identified the method as a trap that would collapse the seal and release the Devil Master 24 25.

After recovering a genuine key fragment, Lin Wudao and Su Yao reached the clan’s altar in Immortal Burial Valley. Nine shamans were using sect-guarding treasures to force the second level open. Lin Wudao broke their barrier through resonance with the palace’s source, and Su Yao recovered the treasures 26 27 28.

The ensuing battle exposed the Devil Master’s dependence on the Nether Demon Crystal. Lin Wudao and Su Yao destroyed the crystal, then defeated him and captured his escaping remnant soul. By devouring it, Lin Wudao gained control of the palace’s second level 29 30.

The Inheritance Trial

Lin Wudao returned with Su Yao and the Jade Void Palace’s Holy Maiden. Inside, they redirected hostile starlight restrictions and discovered records of the Ancient Witch Clan’s involvement in the ancient turmoil 31.

A figure appearing as the Devil Master—but lacking his former brutality and greed—challenged them to prove themselves worthy of the palace’s power. They overcame his Illusory and Real Bewildering Formation, after which he revealed a bronze gate within the central star chart. Lin Wudao opened it with the Jade Slip, releasing a force stronger than those they had previously encountered. The second level’s contents remain unrevealed at this point 31 32.
