East Chester County, at the Hall Family estate.
Audrey sat in front of her dressing table and lit a candle.
Then, through the flickering firelight, she looked at herself in the mirror. Her emerald eyes gradually deepened, captivating all who looked away, as if even the soul wanted to drown in them.
" Audrey, stay awake in your dreams tonight," she said to herself in a soft voice.
This is a simple case of " Psychological Suggestion ".
The ancient song she heard at Twilight Spirit Intuition her to explore her dreams and see if she could use them to enter the vast ocean of the subconscious and the Sky of Spirituality of all living beings.
This was an attempt that no other " Psychiatrist " had ever thought of; at least, the " Psychology Alchemists " did not provide any similar experience of self -Psychological Suggestion or exploring one's own dreams.
Perhaps there they could find the Mind Dragon, or even traces of the " City of Miracles," Liveseyd... Audrey withdrew her gaze, took off the " Lies " that had transformed into a ruby necklace, and placed it in her jewelry box.
She feared that this magical item, which amplifies emotions, might affect her dream self and cause unnecessary harm, so she cautiously took precautions beforehand.
After doing all this, Audrey subconsciously looked at herself in the glasses and noticed that her appearance had become slightly flawed again.
When she wore the " Lies," she felt that her beauty was so captivating that she herself became infatuated with it.
"Wake up, Audrey, it's all Lies!" She raised her right hand and gently stroked her cheek.
At this moment, she was extremely grateful that she had named that magical item " Lies," so that she would always be vigilant because of it. Otherwise, she would one day become completely dependent on it and refuse to face her true self. Once she lost it, she would likely lose control.
"Those girls who are more ordinary-looking, once they put on ' Lies ' and modify their appearance to achieve a near-perfect transformation, may never take them off again, preferring death to keeping them... The corresponding ' Beyonder ' should not have a similar mentality..." Audrey sighed and stood up.
Wearing a smooth silk nightgown, she walked lightly and expectantly through the warm, spring-like room, returned to the soft, comfortable, and supportive bed, and pulled on a rope at the head of the bed.
Annie, the personal maid, opened the Door Opening and gently turned off the lights.
It didn't take long for Audrey to fall asleep completely.
In the hazy, dreamlike world, she suddenly shuddered and realized she was dreaming.
She looked around with great interest and muttered to herself:
Is this what psychology calls 'lucid dreaming'?
Similar concepts exist in mysticism.
"It really worked! I successfully had a lucid dream using simple Psychological Suggestion. Audrey, you're a genius! No, no, no, this is mainly the application of supernatural abilities; I shouldn't be arrogant."
By this time, Audrey had figured out what her current dream was.
She was walking on a gloomy, narrow road, surrounded by a dark forest, with a castle with towering spires ahead.
The drawn-out howls of wolves, the slow, terrifying panting, and the intermittent, shrill screams came from all directions, creating a dangerous and oppressive atmosphere.
I was still scared by the assassination of the Duke Negan, scared that one day many Beyonder would come and attack my father, mother and brother... Audrey analyzed her dream from the perspective of a " Psychiatrist ".
She walked slowly forward, towards the castle that was almost identical to the Hall Family's ancestral home in this unusually realistic dream.
As they walked, a figure suddenly darted out of the Black Forest. It was a Dragon with golden scales all over its body, pale gold eyes that stood upright, and a thick tail that swept horizontally.
The Dragon's facial features were exactly like Audrey's, and combined with its body, there was an indescribable sense of awkwardness and horror!
Audrey was startled and almost woke up from her dream, but thankfully, having been a " Spectator " before, she managed to calm herself down in time.
This made her realize that she had never truly forgotten the near-loss of control she experienced when taking the " Psychiatrist's " Potion. Her self-comfort, self-motivation, and improved mood at the time were merely superficial; the shadow had taken root deep in her subconscious and would occasionally appear in her Dream Divination.
Thankfully, I discovered it today, so I can try to treat it from the subconscious level. After all, I'm a " Psychiatrist "! If I keep ignoring this problem, I might lose control because of fear when I advance to Sequence 6... Audrey seriously examined herself.
Audrey's dreams shifted intermittently, making them unsuitable as a story.
Finally, she arrived at the castle and saw a magic wand about the length of an arm sweep across the sky, scattering sparkling light like starlight.
The castle, bathed in light, suddenly appeared magnificent, and all the gloom and darkness vanished completely.
The melody of a band playing came from inside, and one gas wall lamp after another lit up.
"This was my the Original and most beautiful expectation of extraordinary power... It was such a little girl's fantasy..." Audrey's lips curved into a smile, and her mood instantly improved.
She didn't linger; she crossed the castle and walked towards the edge of this dream, regardless of how the scenery behind her changed or how the story unfolded.
She walked for an unknown amount of time, crossing a desolate wilderness, until she reached the top of a cliff.
Looking out, a gray, void stretched out, and below it was so deep it seemed to have no bottom.
Audrey was acutely aware that this was the boundary of her dream, and she didn't know what would happen if she left.
"And how do I get out? Jump down? What if I fall and die..." Audrey thought to herself, feeling troubled and not daring to take the risk.
After thinking for several seconds, she slowly came up with an idea:
This is a dream, originating from the Mind World. As its master, I can forge my own path through sheer willpower!
With a sense of urgency, she tried to materialize what she was thinking, just as she had done above the Gray Fog. The only difference was that the former required the help of Mr. The Fool, while now she had to rely entirely on herself.
Audrey stretched out her right hand, spread it downwards, and aimed it at the gray Abyss.
Before her, the gray mist suddenly surged, revealing layers of stairs that stretched downwards but had no end in sight.
Audrey took a slow breath, lifted her skirt slightly, and stepped onto the first step.
She descended step by step, and the surroundings grew quieter and quieter, so quiet that it caused her to hallucinate.
Here, nothing but grayness and grayness remains; nothing can be seen, only loneliness and uncertainty.
The howling wind kept changing direction, causing Audrey to sway and her fear to slowly intensify.
Before she could lose control of her emotions, a deep yet gentle light shone in her emerald eyes, as if she could see right through people's hearts.
Audrey Placate herself with her " Psychoanalysis " abilities!
She continued to descend, and several dozen seconds later, a point of light suddenly appeared in the surrounding grayness.
Audrey looked warily and saw that inside the point of light was herself, who had just taken the Potion and was almost turned into Dragon Monster, on the verge of losing control. Her emotions of worry, fear, dread, and tension were palpable.
"... This is my subconscious, this is my shadow?" Audrey vaguely understood where she had gone after leaving the dream.
She didn't rush to resolve this shadow, but continued step by step with anticipation.
According to the theory of the " Psychology Alchemists," the bottom of the subconscious is her destination: the Sea of Collective Subconscious of all living beings!
During her descent, Audrey saw herself as a child listening to her parents tell legends, saw herself who cared about her image but wasn't actually that elegant, and saw herself attending Tarot Club. However, all the light spots similar to the latter were tightly enveloped by gray mist.
These are all things in my subconscious... influencing my personality and behavior? Audrey instinctively used her knowledge of psychology to analyze them.
As the different points of light flickered, she repeatedly teetered on the brink of emotional collapse due to this long, lonely, and aimless exploration, but she always managed to " Placate " herself with her extraordinary abilities.
Just as she was losing all sense of time, she saw the last step.
Ahead of the steps was a solid, blurry, gray "ground," above which beams of light and shadow swirled and drifted, dense and overlapping, like an illusory sea.
The Sea of Collective Subconscious... Audrey took a few steps forward, looked up, and was surprised to find that the "gray haze" no longer obscured her view; the sky was clearly visible.
There were countless indescribable figures, and seven different colored, clear lights containing endless knowledge.
Audrey pursed her lips and murmured to herself with delight:
" Sky of Spirituality."
Then, she cautiously moved forward, embarking on her own adventure.
The light and shadow that make up the sea occasionally flashed before her eyes; some contained ancient memories of being burned by flames, while others carried the extreme pain of staring at the unspeakable...
Besides the imprints from antiquity and from our ancestors, Audrey also saw adoring gazes directed at her and folk customs of worshipping Dragon.
As she walked, she noticed a gray-white mountain peak in the distance to her left. It stretched upwards, emerging from an ocean of light and shadow, its summit shrouded in mist, clear and enchanting.
Was that someone else's consciousness? The subconscious was inside the "ocean," while the normal consciousness was above the surface? Hmm, he was dreaming... Audrey suddenly thought of a possible " Psychiatrist " technique: approach, climb up, and directly influence the other person's subconscious thoughts, making them naturally act according to her plan.
But this must be difficult and very dangerous... Audrey looked away and didn't try it rashly.
She clearly remembered that she had come to find the Mind Dragon and the " City of Miracles," Liveseyd.
Audrey passed by dozens, even hundreds, of other consciousnesses, and gradually, she began to feel tired.
"It's time to go back." She instinctively looked up, gazing into the distance, and made a rational decision.
She stood there, reluctant to leave.
Just as Audrey was about to turn around, a shadow suddenly appeared in mid-air.
Those were two enormous, gray wings!
Beneath the wings was a long, lizard-like Monster.
Its entire body is covered with huge, grayish-white, stone-like scales, and it has four thick, powerful legs. It seems to be bathed in non-existent sunlight, shimmering with a light like the afterglow of a setting sun.
The Monster flew over, its eyes pale gold, pupils vertical, cold and arrogant.
Its grand, epic form quickly faded into the distance, disappearing into the ocean of subconsciousness in all living beings.
Dragon... Mind Dragon! Audrey jumped up and down, then looked around nervously, afraid of being seen behaving in an inelegant and impolite manner.
She paced excitedly, spun around in a circle, and was very satisfied with her adventure.
Sure enough, the Dragon worship here wasn't without origin; a Mind Dragon lived in the ocean of their subconscious... Audrey resisted the urge to praise herself and decided to return immediately, waking up from her dream.
She had no urge to continue exploring because she was completely unprepared. She planned to consult Mr. The Fool and Mr. The Hanged Man at next week's Tarot Club, hoping to get some advice.
Audrey returned the way she came and entered the "mountain" formed by her own consciousness. Then, she woke herself up and successfully escaped from the dream.
At this point, Danitz was also allowed to return to his room.
He glanced at Gehrman Sparrow and chuckled awkwardly:
"You certainly won't tell anyone what you just saw, right?"
