"No way, I didn't go anywhere... Could it be that you have long legs and came here by yourself?" Klein revealed a grinning expression that didn't fit Gehrman Sparrow, and almost gasped.
The only reason to stop him from doing so was that it would cause quite a commotion and alert "trouble" to his hiding place!
No longer a naive Nighthawks, he made a quick decision, held his breath, slowly stood up, and moved almost silently to the iron gate, looking discreetly and calmly towards the direction from which the footsteps came.
He believes that since hiding and avoiding danger may no longer be effective, it is necessary to ascertain the relevant circumstances of the danger in order to make the most appropriate choice!
With two shimmering the Sun in his eyes, Klein waited for several seconds, hearing the footsteps grow heavier and clearer, accompanied by the clanging sound of an iron gate being pushed open and slamming against the wall.
Immediately afterwards, he saw a tall figure appear on the right side of the corridor.
The figure was nearly two and a half meters tall, wearing a full-body black armor that exuded a chilling, almost tangible aura, resembling a giant knight.
He exuded a restrained aura, his silence as deep as the ocean, two crimson lights flickering in his eyes, and he held a long, wide, black straight sword in his hand.
Clang!
He pushed open the iron door of a cell, stepped inside, and looked around as if searching for something.
Hiss... Is this looking for a Prisoner? They'll definitely find me... Klein hesitated, wondering whether he should leave the cell before the other party got close and find another way out, or launch a surprise attack, cleanly and efficiently eliminate the target, and then continue to cower here, waiting for the dream to end.
After assessing how much time he had to think, Klein quickly removed the citrine pendant from his left wrist cuff and began to perform Divination in a voice almost only he could hear:
"That knight was very powerful."
After reciting it seven times in a flash, Klein opened his eyes and saw the citrine pendant rotating clockwise with a large amplitude and a very fast speed.
This means the target is a very dangerous entity!
Without hesitation, and with no time to hesitate, Klein, using the Clown's extraordinary abilities, controlled his muscles and pulled open the iron gate without making a sound.
Then, taking advantage of the black-armored knight entering another cell, he tiptoed into the corridor and quickly moved to the left, keeping his body low to the ground.
In the dense darkness, he listened to the sounds behind him while moving Concealment and swiftly, quickly rounding a bend and arriving at what appeared to be an exit—a pair of iron gates.
Klein tried pushing and pulling, and found that the iron door wasn't heavy; it was just locked from the inside by someone.
After thinking for two seconds, he took out the key he had found in the cell, inserted it into the lock, and turned it without much hope.
A slight clicking sound was heard as the double iron gate was unlocked.
Is this even possible? Even though it's a dream, you can't just pick up any key and call it an important prop... I was originally planning to turn paper into soldiers, insert them into the crack in the door, and cut them one after another... Klein slowly pushed open the iron door, half in doubt and half inwardly scoffing.
To his disappointment, behind the iron gate was not an exit, but a large hall filled with miscellaneous items.
He closed the door behind him and locked it again. Klein walked around the messy pile of items, searching for any possible doors or paths.
A few seconds later, he noticed an inconspicuous black wooden door in the corner, so he cautiously approached it and reached out to grasp the handle.
The scene inside naturally came to mind: it was a storage room with a full-length mirror on the right and a figure in a linen robe huddled on the right.
Someone? The escaped Prisoner? Forced out of his comfort zone, Klein decided to take the initiative to a limited extent, so he slowly turned the handle and pushed open the black wooden door.
He needed to get a general idea of what was going on in order to decide whether to flee or fight in a critical moment.
"Who?" the figure in the linen robe asked urgently but in a low voice, his tone filled with despair and pain.
"An adventurer," Klein replied simply.
He had already made out the figure's appearance using his night vision:
This was a man with a weathered face, with deep wrinkles on his forehead, around his eyes and mouth, but his hair was jet black and shiny, without a single silver strand.
His linen robe was simple and rustic, his expression was Distortion with pain, and his unusually pure black eyes held undisguised surprise and confusion.
"Adventurer?
How did you get here?
Klein maintained a certain distance from the man, whose age was hard to pinpoint, and stood at the doorway, looking at him as he said:
Introducing yourself before asking someone a question is a matter of basic courtesy.
As a " Faceless," he had already grasped the other person's features in just a short time, except for the inconsistency between the hair color and wrinkles, and a hideous old scar on the cheek.
The man paused, glancing worriedly at the hall:
"You'd better close the door. We can't let that Devil catch us, otherwise..."
His facial muscles twitched noticeably twice, as if he were recalling something unpleasant.
" Devil?" Klein murmured, reaching behind him to close the black wooden door.
The man breathed a sigh of relief and smiled bitterly:
"I'm sorry, I was really impolite just now."
"My name is Leomaster, Ascetic from a religious organization."
"A religious organization? It doesn't seem to be a follower of one of the Seven Gods." Klein noticed the problem from the other party's choice of words.
If they were Ascetic believed in one of the Seven Gods, they could obviously say it directly. Even priests of the Church of the Sun and bishops of the Church of Storms wouldn't start fighting the moment they met in such a dangerous place.
Leomaster chuckled self-deprecatingly:
"Yes, I worship the Original Creator, the Omnipotence and Omniscience being, the source of all greatness, the beginning and the end, the God of gods!"
Upon hearing that the other party worshipped the Original Creator, Klein's first thought was " The Hermits of Fate."
However, there are indeed some small sects practicing primitive worship within the Northern Continent, and quite a few people believe in the Original Creator... Klein considered for a moment and asked:
What is the name of your religious organization?
How did you get here?
Leomaster hesitated for a moment and said:
"The easternmost part of the Sonia Sea is where my Lord sleeps, and His holy mountain is hidden somewhere here. I led a pilgrimage group here in an attempt to witness miracles and redeem ourselves."
"Perhaps it was an inevitable test; we were captured by that Devil, and one by one we died..."
"Later, I seized the opportunity, escaped from the cell, and hid here until the Devil left."
Klein thought for a moment and said:
Do you know what that Devil's name is? What are his characteristics?
"Him?" Leomaster shook his head, slightly puzzled. "I don't know his exact name, but many Saint seem to know him and call him the ' Saint of Darkness '."
The Saint of Darkness? A Demigod? Is this Leomaster's dream, or the Demigod's dream? Judging from my Divination, it should be the latter, otherwise there wouldn't be much danger... Klein was about to ask Leomaster which organization he belonged to and find out the general extraordinary abilities of the " Saint of Darkness " when he suddenly caught a glimpse of the full-length mirror opposite the Ascetic.
In the occult, mirrors are channels connecting to Concealment and unknown worlds, and can easily bring terrible accidents. Therefore, Klein was in a dangerous dream, cautiously walked over and planned to use his " Light Priest " ability to destroy the object directly.
"No, no!" Leomaster seemed to sense Klein's intention and cried out in terror, "Without it, I will, I will die right now!"
"Huh?" Klein looked at his glasses again, puzzled.
Although the environment here was unusually dark, two figures were clearly reflected in the mirror: one was Leomaster, with many wrinkles and jet-black hair, and the other was Gehrman Sparrow, with a thin face, black hair, brown eyes, and wearing a baseball cap.
Just then, while Klein was making no move, Gehrman Sparrow in the mirror slowly turned his head and gave him a sinister smile!
Suddenly, ripples spread across the mirror's surface, and a hand reached out.
Klein merely blinked, and a man exactly like him Gehrman Sparrow, crawled out of the mirror, his face tinged with a distinctly sinister aura by the darkness!
That's scary... Unfortunately, I don't look like Gehrman Sparrow, so you didn't scare me... If it were Zhou Mingrui who appeared and crawled out of the mirror, I'm afraid I would have been scared awake... Klein calmly looked at the other person, raised his left hand, and a layer of sunlight was flowing on it.
Across from him, the sinister-looking Gehrman Sparrow smiled, raising his left hand as well, revealing a noble yet eerily dark glove.
This corresponds to the " Baron of Corruption's" ability!
"My clone?" Klein thought for a moment, then raised his right hand again, expressionless.
In his palm he held a short, milky-white scepter that had appeared out of nowhere, its head inlaid with a ring of blue-green "gems".
" The Sea God Scepter!"
Although actions in a dream must be logical to achieve the desired effect, Klein doubted that this illusory world could influence the Gray Fog's influence on that mysterious space. Therefore, he had just tried to simplify the ritual process, telling himself that the " Sea God Scepter " was stored in a unique area similar to the Spirit World, and that he could retrieve it whenever he wanted.
The results of the experiment delighted Klein. As expected, the dream world could not distinguish between the unique area of Spirit World and the area above the Gray Fog. Assuming that the " Sea God Scepter " truly belonged to him, this Demigod- level Sealed Artifact was "retrieved"!
It really works... Otherwise, we'd have had to fight a fierce battle with the other side... Klein secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
He also believed that the mirror could not replicate the parts related to the Gray Fog.
The eerie-looking Gehrman Sparrow stared blankly at the person opposite him, instinctively raising his hand, but his right palm was empty.
Then, he saw countless silvery-white lightning bolts shoot out, enveloping him layer by layer, causing him to consume his " Paper Figurine Substitute " one after another without being able to jump out of the area.
With a whoosh, a giant ball of lightning illuminated the cramped room where there was no way to hide, and then vanished along with Gehrman Sparrow in the mirror.
For some reason, Klein felt strangely calm at this moment, as if he had entered a state of Sage.
He turned his head and looked at Leomaster again, saying:
"What's the name of the religious organization you joined?"
Leomaster answered, trembling:
" Aurora Order..."
The Aurora Order? Klein was taken aback and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
Just then, a loud crash came from outside, and it seemed that the locked double iron gate had been kicked open.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The heavy, drum-like footsteps moved directly towards the corner, as if they had already discovered Klein and Leomaster's hiding place.
Klein suspected that the commotion from the Lightning Storm earlier had alerted the " Saint of Darkness "!
There was no way to hide it anymore... Klein, wielding the " Sea God Scepter," kicked the black wooden door of the storage room away, sending it hurtling towards the " Saint of Darkness "!
As the wooden door rolled, he got a clear look at his target:
The knight, clad in full black armor, had somehow raised his visor, revealing a deeply wrinkled face, a few strands of glossy black hair, and old scars on his cheeks.
He looks exactly like Leomaster, even down to the smallest details!
The only difference was that his eyes gleamed with a deep red light.
P. S.: Please vote for me!
