Background and History

Ancient Civilization

Humanity once occupied a leading position across the heavens. Its ancient experts possessed formidable cultivation techniques and divine abilities, while human sages developed technology and culture admired throughout the universe. Sky Pass is remembered as a former human fortress, and the Ye Clan is identified as humanity’s strongest clan on the Invincible Plain 850 1416 1645.

The surviving accounts describe several catastrophes associated with humanity’s decline. One concerns a forbidden great tomb: after a devastating battle, the Myriad Races blamed humanity for bringing disaster upon the heavens. Their fifth alliance leader ordered humans slaughtered. Before becoming a monster, the third Human Emperor expended his strength to create Deep Space and shield the heavens from part of the destructive power 1537.

Collapse of the Invincible Plain

Another account centers on three generations of Kings of Kings, whose presence made humanity’s stronghold difficult for the allied Myriad Races to overthrow. Seeking transcendence, the three activated the Eternal Taboo Great Formation. Its backlash damaged the world’s laws and the foundations of the Invincible Plain, killed the first King of Kings, and gravely wounded the second 1610.

The Myriad Races exploited this opening and launched a war lasting tens of millions of years. The third King of Kings exhausted his Origin resisting dozens of Invincibles. Without their supreme guardians, human tribes divided over whether to defend their homeland or migrate. Surviving experts eventually opened a passage to Samsara for some young bloodlines while the others remained behind to cover their escape 1610.

Persecution and Lost Heritage

Human settlements were burned, their books and legacies destroyed, and their populations massacred. Survivors were enslaved, used as experimental subjects, or raised as food. Visions appearing in Dragon Pass show an earlier human army being annihilated, including its generals and vanguard 592 1438 1539.

By the time of Ye Changge’s campaigns, some regions scarcely remember that humans exist. Younger inhabitants of the Zero Realm and Invincible Plain know humanity only through old accounts—or have never heard of it at all 1469 1603 1644.

Xuanjizi attributes humanity’s downfall partly to other races’ jealousy and partly to internal strife that scattered human strength. He identifies himself as a human who became the Divine Realm’s Heavenly Dao and assumed responsibility for protecting his people 520.

Restoration Under Ye Changge

Ye Changge’s conquests provide territory, resources, and protected periods of development. Humanity occupies the Earth Pavilion’s former lands and becomes You Continent’s largest territorial power. Later, time formations support recuperation and population increases measured in hundreds of millions 221 781.

His rule also consolidates resources and minimizes internal conflict. By the period around Sky Pass, humanity has established a homeland and order of its own, replacing its earlier existence as scattered fugitives 478 891.

  • Created-universe training: Ye Changge supplies a separate universe with formations, cultivation techniques, and weapons; thirty internal years pass during one outside month 1393.
  • Limits: Accelerated training does not guarantee every breakthrough. After one army-wide advancement, only a small group enters Chaos God while most summoned warriors remain at Peak Initial God 929.

Resource Consolidation

  • Cultivation supplies: Spiritual treasures improve meridians, divine souls, and mental strength, supporting rapid breakthroughs among summoned experts 893.
  • Energy beads: Both summoned armies and native human forces use energy condensed from powerful experts during Time Tower cultivation 1093.
  • Wartime conversion: Ye Changge turns the power of slain nonhumans into energy beads for the army during the Zero Realm campaign 1522.
  • Civil development: Resource allocation supports progress in economics, technology, military affairs, and cultivation 1093 1094.

Population Policy

  • Multiple-birth incentives: Families with more children can receive rewards including talents, bloodlines, physiques, and martial souls 1393.
  • Protected settlement: Captured Dragon Race households are assigned courtyard homes, land, and barren hills after losing their cultivation and ability to become dragons 1410.

Policy Toward Other Races

Vengeance and Exclusive Human Rule

Ye Changge frames the wars as repayment for massacres, enslavement, soul refinement, and the destruction of humanity’s heritage. His stated objective extends beyond security to the elimination of competing races and the permanent survival of human culture alone 1093 1516.

  • Civilian slaughter: At White Transformation City, he rejects a plea to spare ordinary inhabitants and orders the population killed 1282.
  • Destruction of heritage: The Qiongqi purge destroys writing, cultivation methods, divine abilities, bloodlines, and other foundations. Humans are forbidden from preserving those practices through cultivation 1037.
  • Use of enemies as food: Xuanwu bodies are distributed among human continents for cooking; Ye Changge also transforms Huntian into a pig 1105 1393.
  • Restriction on human form: Ye Changge gives the Myriad Races three days to stop assuming human form, then mobilizes an elite expedition when many refuse 1357.
