History

Foundation and Regional Rule

Zhao Que founded the Breeze Sect and became acquainted with Nan Fa of the Myriad Origins Holy Land while exploring a secret realm together. Zhao Que died after exhausting his lifespan several hundred years before the sect’s destruction, but his connection to Nan Fa remained available to his descendants in a life-or-death crisis 25 26.

The sect ruled the Clear Wind Kingdom for over a thousand years. Its authority overshadowed local lineages, and the kingdom’s ruler functioned as its proxy. Before Ye Chen’s return, the Ye Lineage considered admission to the sect a major opportunity for its disciples 23 25 29.

Investigation of the Ye Lineage

After a representative of the Huayun Sect requested help investigating the Ye Lineage, Zhao Heng suspected that the family in Clearwater Town was the surviving branch of the ancient Heavenly Profound Ye Lineage. He used Wang Shuiyan’s engagement to Ye Yan as an opportunity to investigate, deliberately sending Elder Chen with her to test the family’s strength 16.

Wang Shuiyan announced that she had become the sect master’s disciple and demanded to break off the engagement. Ye Yan defeated her after revealing his recovered cultivation. Elder Chen then tried to kill him and threatened to destroy the Ye Lineage, prompting Ye Chen to kill both the elder and Wang Shuiyan 9 10 11.

Scheme Against the Ye Lineage

Zhao Heng hoped to seize the Ye Lineage’s lost treasury, which was rumored to contain imperial artifacts. His plan was to surrender the most valuable discoveries to higher powers while retaining enough resources to advance further, eventually surpass the Huayun Sect, and dominate Heavenly Profound Province 16.

Rather than attack directly, he arranged for the Falling Snow Sect to test the family’s hidden defenses. Zhao Si sent Hao’er and disguised followers to assault and murder Falling Snow Sect disciples while posing as members of the Ye Lineage. The scheme was intended to provoke a conflict that would weaken their targets 16 24.

Ye Chen overheard the young sect master and his four followers discussing their plans at Black Mountain and erased them. He subsequently ordered the Ye Lineage to destroy the Breeze Sect, both as retaliation and as a demonstration of strength to neighboring powers 18 22.

Destruction

When the Ye Lineage marched toward Breeze Mountain, Zhao Heng attributed its confidence—and the Falling Snow Sect’s destruction—to an emperor artifact or an object containing a powerful expert’s strike. He summoned Nan Fa, expecting the holy land elder to overcome the family’s defenses and leave lesser resources for the Breeze Sect 24 25.

Ye Xuan instead released a Primordial Demon Lightning Ape from the spirit beast pouch supplied by Ye Chen. Its roar gravely injured almost all the sect’s disciples and strained its elders. Nan Fa intervened and gained the advantage over the ape, briefly restoring the sect’s confidence 25 26 27.

Ye Chen then manifested a gigantic face in the heavens, suppressed the battlefield, and erased Nan Fa. Zhao Heng and Zhao Si begged for mercy and offered the entire sect’s submission. Ye Chen annihilated the senior members and several Xiantian Realm disciples, leaving the Ye Lineage to kill those remaining 27.

Ye Xuan ordered a search for survivors and directed his people to take useful resources from the treasury and scripture pavilion, burning anything useless 27.

Aftermath

The sect’s destruction overturned the Clear Wind Kingdom’s balance of power. Its ruler and other regional leaders brought congratulatory gifts to the Ye Lineage, and Ye Xuan declared that his family would take the Breeze Sect’s place. The assembled visitors accepted his claim after an unknown force killed a patriarch who began to object 28 29.

Nan Fa’s death drew an investigation from the Myriad Origins Holy Land. Holy Lord Wan Kong later examined the Dao traces at the sect’s ruins and confirmed that Nan Fa had died there. By then, rogue cultivators were scavenging the abandoned grounds for anything the Ye Lineage had left behind 35 42.

Strength and Resources

Cultivators

  • Upper ranks: The sect possessed multiple Origin Core Realm experts, including peak-level cultivators, before Zhao Heng’s Spirit Refinement breakthrough became known to the Ye Lineage 16 23.
  • Supporting ranks: Numerous Xiantian and Qi Sea Realm cultivators gave it an overwhelming conventional advantage over the Ye Lineage 23.
  • Regional standing: The Falling Snow Sect was considered a comparable third-grade power; Zhao Si believed it might have been stronger before Zhao Heng’s breakthrough 21 24.

Techniques and Defenses

  • Clear Wind Art — A high-grade profound-tier cultivation technique practiced by Wang Shuiyan 10.
  • Protective formation — Steward Qian assessed that the formation outside the sect’s gates should withstand attacks from ordinary Spirit Refinement Realm cultivators 23.
  • Strongest weapon — A low-grade earth-tier spiritual artifact; the sect did not possess the emperor artifact its leaders hoped to seize 24.

External Relationships

  • Ye Lineage — Formerly lived under the sect’s rule. The Breeze Sect’s investigation and false-flag attacks escalated into a conflict that ended with its destruction and replacement 16 24 27 29.
  • Huayun Sect — Requested the Breeze Sect’s assistance in locating the ancient Ye Lineage. Zhao Heng nevertheless hoped to exploit the discovery for his own sect’s advancement and eventually surpass or destroy the Huayun Sect 16.
  • Falling Snow Sect — Neighboring rival manipulated into attacking the Ye Lineage. Zhao Heng also intended to destroy it once it had served its purpose 16 24.
  • Nan Fa / Myriad Origins Holy Land — Emergency connection inherited through Zhao Que’s acquaintance with Nan Fa. Although Nan Fa answered the request for aid, he privately intended to monopolize the Ye Lineage’s treasury and kill everyone who knew its identity 25 26.
  • Clear Wind Kingdom’s ruler — Served as a puppet under the sect’s dominance and initially expected its destruction to free him from outside control 29.
