Background / History

Village Survival and Awakening

Zhou Quan was Chu Feng’s college classmate. Before the upheaval of heaven and earth, he worked for a monthly salary of four or five thousand and could save roughly one thousand after expenses. He had arrived at a village to visit relatives more than half a month before reuniting with Chu Feng 1738 1783.

During the mutations, a wolf monster ate his eldest uncle. Other relatives fled by car, leaving the uncle behind. Zhou Quan survived in hiding and appeared to be the village’s only remaining survivor when Chu Feng and Xiao Tian found him. Although terrified, he insisted that he could help kill monsters rather than become their burden 1738.

The pair introduced him to gaining strength through monster kills and encouraged him to confront the village’s tiger spirit. After his awakening through Gene Enhancement Liquid, his fear briefly gave way to overconfidence. Xiao Tian and Chu Feng repeatedly defeated him in sparring, exposing the gap between his raw strength and their fighting skills 1739 1741 1743 1745.

Conflict with the Ancient God Biological Gene Group

When Situ Qingyun returned with Evolvers and more than a hundred armed men, the trio recognized their proposed transaction as a trap. Zhou Quan acted as a bull-monster decoy, first moving on all fours and later wearing a black fur coat with his horns painted purple to draw attention 1745 1746 1747.

Two Evolvers pursued him into the hills, where he became lost. On reuniting with Chu Feng, he learned that Xiao Tian had apparently died protecting him. Zhou Quan blamed himself, swore revenge, and accompanied Chu Feng toward Kunlun with Situ Qingyun captive. He did not know that Xiao Tian had resurrected 1752.

Kunlun Expedition

Repeated battles against hostile Evolvers and mutated creatures hardened Zhou Quan’s resolve. His growing horns also caused strangers to mistake him for a monster and attack him 1754.

In the maze, he and Chu Feng obtained spirit stones, defeated the Antelope King, and killed King Kong by exploiting his kidney weakness. They subsequently fought several king-level creatures in an assault secretly arranged by Xiao Tian. Zhou Quan’s toughness allowed him to resist the Eagle King, whose claws were later injured by his horns 1762 1764 1768.

Traveling with Xiao Tian’s disguise, Fairy Yun Shang, the group crossed the Flaming Mountains and plundered the Golden-Haired Rat King’s cavern. Despite his enhanced body, Zhou Quan nearly succumbed to heatstroke and dehydration during the crossing 1772 1774 1775 1778.

After leaving Kunlun, he attempted the Dao Yin Breathing Technique given by Yellow Ox. Repeated attempts caused severe pain. Xiao Tian explained that his half-demon constitution made the technique unsuitable and told him to await the opening of the Demon Clan’s sacred land in Kunlun 1781.

Luo Cheng and Dragon City

In Luo Cheng, Zhou Quan beat Grandmaster Long’s disciple, Ouyang Ba, bringing the group into conflict with a prominent local figure. Later, Long Zaitian secretly arranged a lightning strike against Chu Feng. Chu Feng kicked Zhou Quan clear of the strike, and Zhou Quan carried his gravely wounded friend toward their villa 1783 1784 1788.

Mo Tian’s avatar subsequently confronted Zhou Quan at the Treasure Gathering Pavilion. Enraged by the claim that Chu Feng was dead, Zhou Quan released a powerful golden radiance from his horns, but could not resist Mo Tian’s control of time. Xiao Tian rescued him through the Kamui Dimension. After waking, Zhou Quan offered to help Xiao Tian while waiting for Chu Feng’s revival 1789 1790.

At Dragon City’s Crown Hotel, he renewed his attack on Situ Qingyun over the earlier betrayal. He broke through Situ’s mental control, repeatedly slammed him into the floor, and later disarmed his concealed laser weapon. He also struck a Beast King descendant during the confrontation 1808 1809.

Zhou Quan continued accompanying Xiao Tian and Chu Feng in Luo Cheng, including their investigation of a rice-shop arson. He avoided administrative work, however, preferring to eat skewers while Chu Feng handled city affairs during Xiao Tian’s seclusion 1832 1833 1843.

Mount Longhu and the Sword in the Stone

By the Mount Longhu expedition, Zhou Quan had reached the Visualization Realm. He traveled with Xiao Tian, Chu Feng, and Kabuta through shifting domains, relying on Xiao Tian to guide their passage. He tried to study Purple Firmament Divine Lightning afterward, but could not retain its characters 1879 1881.

In the Flaming Mountains, he challenged foreign Evolvers seeking local treasures. He overpowered Yokese despite being struck by the Sword in the Stone, then fought a Gaoluo Country demon that had swallowed Yokese. His strength continued rising during the battle until the demon fled, with Zhou Quan pursuing it 1883 1884.

Appearance

Zhou Quan first appears as a plump young man, but becomes progressively leaner and taller as his evolution continues 1738 1770 1781 1879.

  • Bull horns: Grow after his awakening and continue enlarging during the Kunlun journey 1744 1754.
  • Luminous horns: Shine gold when he erupts in anger against Mo Tian’s avatar 1789.
  • Lean build: Explicitly described as lean by the time he battles Yokese 1884.

Personality

Zhou Quan initially struggles with overwhelming fear after witnessing his uncle’s death. He trembles before monsters and nearly vomits at the tiger spirit’s feeding, yet consciously resolves not to burden Chu Feng and Xiao Tian. Combat experience gradually turns him into a willing frontline fighter 1738 1739 1754.

He is boastful, outspoken, and easily carried away by newfound strength. His “Fat Lord” persona accompanies both genuine courage and exaggerated complaints. Wealth and food strongly appeal to him: he risks overloading a supply bag for milk and eagerly strips valuable stones from the Rat King’s floor 1739 1743 1746 1778.

His loyalty is more durable than his bluster. He mourns Xiao Tian’s apparent death, attacks Situ Qingyun over the betrayal, and remains deeply concerned about Chu Feng’s survival. He is also mischievous and lecherous: he helps fabricate gossip about Xiao Tian and attempts to engineer a collision with Fairy Yun Shang, only to hit a rock wall instead 1752 1771 1790 1808 1811.

Abilities & Skills

Enhanced Strength and Close-Quarters Combat

His awakening emphasizes physical power and toughness rather than technical finesse 1743 1745.

  • Initially overpowers Chu Feng in sparring, but quickly loses once Chu Feng adapts to his attacks 1745.
  • Withstands attacks from the Eagle King well enough to barely hold his own despite being disadvantaged 1768.
  • Overwhelms Yokese with a punch that restricts his escape through sheer pressure 1884.
  • Uses simple but devastating punches against the Gaoluo Country demon, growing stronger as the fight continues 1884.

Bull Horns and Demonic Traits

His horns are functional weapons, not merely an outward mutation 1765 1768.

  • Attempts to skewer a bird stealing the group’s food 1765.
  • Injures the Eagle King’s claws when it attacks him 1768.
  • Releases dazzling golden light and an oppressive aura through his horns when enraged 1789.
  • Emits tangible flames from his nose during his initial awakening; later combat use of this effect is not documented 1743.

Mental Resolve and Presence Control

Battle experience strengthens both his will and his ability to avoid detection 1754 1779.

  • Learns to conceal and manipulate his presence during the Kunlun journey 1779.
  • Breaks Situ Qingyun’s attempted mental control after a brief daze 1808.
  • Cannot counter Mo Tian’s time-stopping ability and requires rescue 1789 1790.

Cultivation Limitations

  • Dao Yin Breathing Technique: Causes headaches and stabbing pain throughout his muscles and bones because it is incompatible with his half-demon constitution 1781.
  • Purple Firmament Divine Lightning: Cannot retain even a single character for more than a few seconds 1881.
  • Swordsmanship: Fairy Yun Shang explicitly tells him he has no talent for the sword 1770.
  • Navigation: Admits that he has no sense of direction; becoming lost separates him from his companions during the village conflict 1752 1771 1776.

  • Black fur coat — Worn with purple-painted horns as part of his bull-demon disguise 1747.

  • Concealed laser weapon, seized — Takes Situ Qingyun’s weapon during their Crown Hotel confrontation 1809.
