Background / History

The Fire Spirit True Immortal originated as a Primordial Spirit Fire and cultivated to the Earth Immortal realm without an established sect or foundation. Seeking a path toward longevity, she claimed Tianci Temple in Guangci Prefecture, displaced its Buddhist statues, and attempted to gather the prefecture's incense and fire for herself. She argued that Bodhisattva Samantabhadra had permitted this arrangement, though her seizure divided the local faithful. 11 13

At Tianci Temple, she demonstrated deep knowledge of Lesser Vehicle Buddhist teachings, defeating Elder Zhengxin in a three-day scripture debate. When Zhuang Yan challenged her reasoning, however, he exposed the contradiction in her understanding of the Buddha's dwelling. She answered the debate with Profound Yang True Fire, but Zhuang Yan refined and returned her flames before immobilizing her with the One Thought Seal and sealing her in a ceramic jar. 13

Zhuang Yan explained that her occupation of Guangci Prefecture would ultimately draw retaliation from the Buddhist Sect and lead to her death. Accepting his reasoning, she became his Mountain Guard General. Her loyalty deepened after he entrusted her with powerful treasures, administrative authority, and responsibility for the Divine Manor. 14 31 72

Personality

After joining Zhuang Yan, she became disciplined, dutiful, and highly capable in both governance and investigation. She prioritizes mortal lives over expediency, rejects unnecessary social distractions, and remains committed to earning merit for Zhuang Yan. 32 147 152

She is also direct with subordinates and allies, whether admonishing Vanguard Hu over his family affairs or challenging officials who obstruct an investigation. Her concern for Ao Jun, Wang Shu, and other companions shows a gentler side beneath her formal demeanor. 140 159 170
