Jiang Jie did not leave with the Fenris People's Army. He and Anveena left ahead of time, but instead of returning by the same route, they passed through the town of Ambermill and took a narrow path through the mountains, arriving at a hillside less than five kilometers from Dalaran.
Seeing the scene before him, Jiang Jie took a deep breath.
The Violet Citadel Barrier had vanished, Dalaran had been breached, and he could even see the Undead rampaging through the city, as well as the mages and Kirin Tor Guardians clearing out the Undead.
Jiang Jie looked up but did not see Naxxramas.
Jiang Jie looked down and found that there weren't many Undead gathered in or Dalaran Dalaran. Clearly, the Undead army had retreated, and they... had gotten what they wanted.
They may be retreating to some other hidden location to carry out their next plan.
After all, even with Kel'Thuzad's magical prowess, it would take time to learn the spells recorded in the Book of Medivh.
" Anveena, let's go into town!"
Jiang Jie arrived in Dalaran quickly.
No one paid him any attention. The city was teeming with the Undead, and the mages and Kirin Tor Guardians were working tirelessly to exterminate Undead. Although the Violet Citadel Barrier had been broken, the Undead had now retreated. This was their home and their country; who would willingly abandon their home and country?
Walking along the main road, Jiang Jie casually killed a few approaching Undead and soon arrived at the gate of Violet Citadel. There he saw a knight on horseback leading a group of Kirin Tor Guardians who were fighting the Undead in the square.
These Kirin Tor Guardians are well-equipped, after all, they are Dalaran's direct troops, all wearing Kirin Tor Guardians sets, green or blue quality. Although Dalaran has not experienced war for more than ten years, these Kirin Tor Guardians do not have much combat experience, but their excellent equipment is enough to make up for the lack of experience.
The knight was clearly stronger; his equipment radiated intense Arcane energy, indicating that he was no ordinary knight. His gear was comparable to that of Archmage from the Council of Six —a full set of purple armor.
Jiang Jie had no doubt that even if Anveena's fireball, comparable to Pyroblast, landed on him, it wouldn't leave too many marks. The enchantments on his equipment were enough to withstand all damage from anything below the Archmage level.
"Halt! This is Violet Citadel. No one is allowed to approach!" As Jiang Jie and Anveena approached, the knight immediately blocked their way, gripping a heavy golden and red shield in one hand and a massive axe in the other, exuding immense power.
"I am Nicholas Jiang, Earl of Lordaeron, requesting an audience with Kirin Tor councilor! Any councilor!" Jiang Jie drew his Strom'kar Warbreaker and suddenly swung it to the side, Shadowflame like a sword aura cleaving the two Ghoul in two.
" Strom'kar the Warbreaker! Nicholas, I know you! Go inside, Archmage Modera and Archmage Ansirem are having a meeting. Lord Antonidas... has been killed by our wretched prince!" The knight sneered.
He used "we" because he was actually a member of Lordaeron, who had made great contributions in the Orcs Wars and gradually rose through the ranks. He had been in charge of defense and security in Hillsbrad Foothills and had recently been ordered by Queen Calia to lead a small group of soldiers to reinforce the area.
His name was Garithos. He was arrogant, reckless, and Recklessness, but he was a disciplined and true soldier!
Jiang Jie nodded to Garithos, then led Anveena into Violet Citadel.
This castle is as magnificent as the Dawn of the Holy Light Cathedral in Gilneas City. As soon as Jiang Jie entered, he felt an even stronger Arcane energy than in Silvermoon City. Xiao Feng cried out in Jiang Jie's mind, saying it was a pity because the energy here was all owned and connected to the still-intact Dalaran Ley Line. It wouldn't be easy for the game pod to absorb it.
Jiang Jie didn't feel sorry, because the Ley Line system here would soon collapse, and he would still have a chance.
" Nicholas? You've arrived."
Archmage Modera's face was grim. During World War II, the Orcs destroyed the city, and it was she and Antonidas who led the mages to rebuild it. She never imagined that all the beauty of the city would last only a little over a decade before being destroyed again. This left the ancient mage, who had lived for countless years, in a very bad mood.
"I heard that Archmage Antonidas has passed away? This is not only a loss for Dalaran, but a loss for the entire human realm." Jiang Jie quickly expressed his grief, then immediately asked, "I want to know, Book of Medivh and the Eye of Dalaran still there?"
The Book of Medivh?
Eye of Dalaran?
Modera and Ansirem, who was standing beside her, exchanged a glance before turning back to Jiang Jie and saying, "You actually know about these two artifacts? Did Uther tell you? Well, Arthas took the Book of Medivh; he seems to want to use it to summon something, and Drenden and the Battle Mage Corps went to stop them. As for the Eye of Dalaran, it's always been here, protected by Dalaran's most powerful barrier; Arthas can't get it!"
"It's not that Arthas can't get it, but that he's not interested in it. He doesn't want to waste time and energy trying to seize it." Jiang Jie frowned, then said, " Kel'Thuzad plans to use the Book of Medivh to summon ' The Defiler ' Archimonde, Archmage Drenden will go to stop him? I'm afraid..."
Jiang Jie shook his head.
Archmage Drenden might have been a formidable and experienced Archmage, but compared to Arthas, Kel'Thuzad, and Tichondrius, he was no match. In Jiang Jie's memory, this Archmage only existed in the memories of others; he must have died in this war.
That is, before Kel'Thuzad's summoning ritual!
"What? ' The Defiler the Archimonde '? This... how is this possible!" As one of the oldest and most senior Archmage in Dalaran, Modera clearly knew more than the other Archmage. Always calm, experienced, worldly-wise, and adept at diplomacy, she exclaimed, " Archimonde is one of the demon lords of the Burning Legion. He killed the Wild God Malorne of the Wilds during the War of the Ancients! Dalaran stop him! The entire Eastern Kingdoms combined can't stop him!"
" Archimonde is the most powerful man walking on the land of Azeroth, without exception. Dalaran certainly can't stop him. Moreover, once that being descends, he will wipe out any insects that hinder his arrival in this world—sorry, in his eyes, we are all insects!" Jiang Jie said solemnly, "Therefore, you must relocate immediately!"
"Perhaps we should devote all our efforts to stopping Kel'Thuzad from summoning Archimonde with Drenden! As long as we stop him, none of this disaster will happen!" Archmage Ansirem suggested.
" Dalaran and Archmage Antonidas couldn't stop the Scourge, so what makes us think we can?" Jiang Jie shook his head and said, "Make a decisive move, you two Archmage! You must immediately relocate all the residents of Dalaran to a safe place! Go to Fenris Isles; I've already prepared a small island for you, where you can stay temporarily!"
" Nicholas, perhaps you don't understand Archimonde, or know how powerful he is... Once he descends, no matter where we hide, he will find us and destroy us! After Lady Aegwynn disappeared and Medivh died, there is no power left in the Eastern Kingdoms to oppose him!" Archmage Ansirem shook his head, a deep sense of frustration on his face.
" Archmage, I understand Archimonde's power better than you do, and I understand his purpose in coming to this world. Believe me, he would gladly wipe out Dalaran, but he wouldn't waste any more time dealing with you or Lordaeron. Why would a dragon care about ants crawling on the ground? His target is on another continent." Jiang Jie said, "Make your decision quickly, you two Archmage! The life and death of tens of thousands of Dalaran's inhabitants rests on your shoulders!"
Three minutes later.
"Alright, now it's just the two of us in the Kirin Tor Council, no need for a meeting to decide." Archmage Modera nodded. " Ansirem, if the Kirin Tor Council still exists tomorrow, perhaps we should consider adding new Kirin Tor council members. You know Dalaran needs six council members, I think Rhonin would be good... Now, gather everyone in the Hall of the Guardian, we will open a large portal in three hours, destination: Fenris Isles!"
