Med'an followed Meryl and soon came to a huge, unimaginable library.
Bookshelves were everywhere, books were everywhere, the bookshelves stood densely packed, hundreds at a glance, each with hundreds of books, and this was only what Med'an saw.
There's more that we can't see.
How big is this library?
At first glance, it's as big as a football field!
The room is very tall, with spiral staircases leading upwards, and some bookshelves are even over ten meters high, making them impossible to reach without a ladder.
Med'an, who had rarely seen books growing up, was completely stunned.
"Mei... Meryl, how long will it take to finish reading these books? A hundred years? Or a thousand years?" Med'an stammered, his eyes wide with disbelief.
He was about to rush over Meryl stopped him.
"See those guys? Those things are tough to deal with," Meryl said, frowning and pointing ahead.
The entire library was filled with guards.
Some of these mechanical constructs, nearly three meters tall, resemble miniature versions of the Curator and are called " Arcane Protector." However, they are relatively simple in structure, cannot cast spells, and can only punch and kick.
Of course, given their size, their punches and kicks are probably even more terrifying than those Warrior Orcs or Tauren Warrior. A single punch or kick would be enough to seriously injure even a tiger, if not kill it.
And there are at least thirty Arcane Protector here, looking around.
Other monsters floating in mid-air, which look somewhat like Mana Wyrm and Siphoner, are called Mana Feeder and are a fusion of the Twisting Nether and Medivh magic.
These monsters can strip magical energy from their enemies and convert it into Arcane damage; their abilities are somewhat similar to those of the Siphoner.
Arcane Protector handle physical attacks, Mana Feeder handle magical attacks; their coordinated attacks make them indeed difficult to deal with.
" Med'an, I'm leaving this to you," Meryl said.
"Leave it to me?" Med'an exclaimed in surprise, "Teacher, are you kidding me?"
"These things aren't difficult to deal with." Meryl glanced at him. "You can't follow me forever. You have your world, and I have mine! Consider today your graduation exam. Your apprenticeship as a mage is over!"
"Teacher!" Meryl exclaimed in surprise, staring blankly at Meryl with eyes full of confusion.
He had been with Meryl since he was a baby, and since he could remember, his world consisted only of Meryl.
He didn't know what his father and mother were like; Meryl was his father and mother, his everything.
Although life in the Brightwood was monotonous and gloomy, he had adapted to it and gotten used to it.
He longed to leave the Brightwood every day and see the outside world, but now that Meryl was really asking him to leave, he felt lost and bewildered, like a deer that had lost its way.
" Meryl, are you kicking me out?" Tears welled up in Med'an's eyes.
It's better to raise someone than to give them life. Meryl raised him for 16 years, and now they want to kick him out?
From what I've heard, it seems like we'll be breaking up with him from now on?
" Meryl, where do you want me to go? Didn't you say I couldn't go anywhere? I know I don't look like humans, I don't look like Orcs, nobody will welcome me, I... I can only stay with you!" Med'an cried out, " Meryl! You can't send me away!"
"Birds grow up and leave the nest, but wolf cubs have to hunt for themselves before they're even grown up!" Meryl said coldly.
"That's because old birds die! Old wolves die! But you won't die! You won't die even after I die! Why are you trying to drive me away?" Med'an clenched his fists, tilted his head back, and stared at Meryl: "You can't drive me away!"
"I was born a dead man, but you weren't. Nicholas is right, you should have your own life," Meryl said calmly. "That's what your mother wanted too. Don't you want to know about your origins? Do as I say! I'll tell you!"
"My mother? That Orcs woman! It really was her!" Med'an gritted his teeth. "You said it yourself!"
"It was me who said it."
" Meryl!" "Fine!" Med'an Rage off to the library.
He didn't cast a spell; instead, he raised the axe.
He once used this axe to kill dozens or even hundreds of wolves. The wolf packs of Brightwood are now terrified of him!
He also used this axe to kill seven Ogres, including a two-headed Ogres that could cast spells.
Like his mother, he was not as strong as the Orcs, but far more Orcs.
Just as Meryl had always taught him, he fought as a battle mage. This fighting style was different from that of human mages, and more like that of certain High Elf mages, such as the Sun King and Prince Kael'thas, or those Spellbreaker, Sunfury Guardsman, or Orcs Shaman.
Magic power is concentrated in the weapon for close combat.
With a swing of his battle axe, Med'an into the air and struck an Arcane Protector in the chest with an arcane gem. Layers of enchantment imbued the axe with powerful anti-magic abilities, easily shattering the Arcane gem, and the Arcane Protector fell.
Then came the second, the third...
Med'an was incredibly fast; in the blink of an eye, his axe flashed, leaving afterimages as he eliminated one Mana Feeder after another.
Med'an moved through Karazhan like an assassin, yet also like a High Elf magic swordsman, wielding a battle axe, a weapon more favored by Orcs.
Watching all this, Meryl turned her head and looked at Garona, who was crouching in a corner not far away. Then Garona and Med'an's figures began to intertwine, just like one person.
Meryl saw that Garona was also quietly watching Med'an. Although her face was expressionless, Meryl knew that Garona must be gratified, like a mother wolf seeing her cubs kill a sheep.
Med'an Medivh's spellcasting talent and Garona's agility. If he continues to grow, he will definitely become stronger than Medivh and Garona in the future. After all, he possesses a talent that no one else in this world has: he has the bloodlines of four races.
Having rushed here and seen all the fallen corpses and the completely Devastation the Curator, Jiang Jie finally arrived at Meryl's side. He also saw Med'an's performance and then felt two cold gazes.
He turned his head and saw Garona looking at him, so he chuckled and nodded.
Garona was taken aback, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes, before turning her head back to look at her precious son.
Jiang Jie shook his head and chuckled. What an interesting mother and son.
" Anveena, take a good look... You should learn how mages fight!" Jiang Jie smiled and looked at Anveena standing to the side.
Anveena's energy level is higher than Med'an's, but her spellcasting ability is about the same as Med'an's. Her combat experience and skills are far inferior to Med'an's, so she often falls short in actual combat.
"Hmm, okay. But I think he's much worse than you, brother!" Anveena pouted, observing intently.
Ten minutes later, the battle ended. Med'an stood there, turned around, and looked at Meryl.
"Very good, Med'an, you are now a true mage. Now, let's begin searching for the book," Meryl said.
