Jiang Jie discovered that the Emerald Nightmare had already corrupted an ancient green dragon guarding a passage into the Emerald Dream. He failed to contact Cenarius and was left facing the dragon as it opened its eyes.

• Jiang Jie found an ancient Tree of Life and left Anveena and the restless creatures behind to investigate its base.
• Jiang Jie discovered a gateway to the Emerald Dream and an enormous ancient green dragon whose scales showed signs of nightmare corruption.
• Jiang Jie realized the Emerald Nightmare had spread much earlier and more severely than he had believed, trapping Druids and green dragons.
• Jiang Jie tried to contact Cenarius for help but received no response.
• The ancient green dragon opened its eyes as Jiang Jie considered retreating.

Jiang Jie fought Ysondre, an ancient green dragon empowered by the Emerald Nightmare, while trying to protect Sharpbeak and survive her devastating attacks. After buying time in the air, he was joined by Anveena and called on her to merge with him.

• Ysondre blasted Jiang Jie with a Nightmare Essence Orb, and its shockwave gravely injured Sharpbeak and began corrupting him.
• Jiang Jie used Strom'kar, the Shadow Phoenix, nature energy, and Chi to treat Sharpbeak, then sent him to find Anveena and bring her back.

Sky City continued to expand as Jiang Jie managed its affairs and helped bring gryphons and Moonkin there. After reaching the Xiantian Tenth Layer, he received an urgent summons from Cenarius.

• Brannock Blackheart's Earthen and a group of gnomes began building Sky City according to Xiao Feng's blueprints, while Druids cultivated its greenery and a secret surveillance system was installed.
• A High Elf ranger and her Half-Elf twins settled in Sky City, which opened tourist routes and lodging to visitors.
• Highlord Falstad protested Jiang Jie's taking gryphons and Moonkin from the Hinterlands, then changed his position after Jiang Jie agreed to help fight the Vilebranch Trolls.
