Background and History

Family and Early Training

Feng Xiaotian is the eldest son of Godwind Academy dean Feng Qingxuan and Bai Qingyin. His Gale Twin-Headed Wolf arose from the fusion and mutation of his parents’ Martial Souls, carrying both Feng and Bai family roots 1 2.

His mother belongs to the Bai family, also known as the Speed Family. Its ancestral grounds were destroyed after its rank-ninety-four Titled Douluo ancestor was lured away. Although Bai Qingyin urges her sons to cultivate and live well rather than pursue hatred, Xiaotian agrees to share Lingtian’s determination to make those responsible repay their debt 2.

Years of medicinal baths strengthened the brothers’ bones, muscles, and meridians. Feng Qingxuan also trained them in running, mountain climbing, and martial arts from early childhood. This foundation enabled Xiaotian to withstand Soul Rings beyond ordinary age limits 3.

Changing His Cultivation Path

In the original course of events remembered by Feng Lingtian, Xiaotian sacrificed his natural power-attack advantages to accommodate Godwind Academy’s Extreme School doctrine and weaker teammates. He became an agility-oriented fighter and devoted excessive cultivation time to self-created techniques, particularly Gale Demon Wolf Consecutive Slashes. Lingtian remembers his repeated defeats by Tang San and his attempts to please Huo Wu as examples of his wasted potential 1.

After being reborn as Xiaotian’s younger brother, Lingtian urges him to treat the Gale Twin-Headed Wolf as a destructive Power Attack System Martial Soul rather than an assassin’s tool. Xiaotian accepts, resolving to combine wind-assisted speed with direct, defense-breaking force 1.

Third Soul Ring and Intermediate Academy

Xiaotian accompanies his father and brother into the Heavenly Wind Mountain Range for their Soul Rings. When Huo Wu criticizes Lingtian’s preparations, he shields his brother and rebukes her rather than seeking her approval 5.

He subsequently defeats a 2,500-year-old Gale Twin-Headed Wolf, suffering a forearm wound deep enough to expose bone. After six hours of absorption, he obtains his third Soul Ring and reaches rank thirty-two, qualifying to enter the intermediate academy 7 8.

On his third day there, he wins three consecutive arena matches. He defeats one opponent without attacking, creates a concentrated piercing technique against another’s shield, and uses Wolf Shadow Clone against the third. Once his weekly resource qualification is secure, he stops challenging rather than risk losing his rewards 10.

Recruiting a Tournament Team

The brothers choose to prepare for the academy tournament in which Xiaotian will be twenty-one and Lingtian fifteen, rather than the nearer competition four years away. Xiaotian begins scouting prospective teammates, prioritizing control, defense, and support roles 8.

During a mountain excursion, he helps Shi Yan survive a Soul Ring hunt and invites both him and his younger sister, Xiao Ling, to Godwind Academy. Because Shi Yan’s bell lacks an actual wind attribute, Xiaotian spends considerable effort securing his admission through a personal recommendation and assumes responsibility for his cultivation 11 17.

He later identifies Ji Ning’s low-altitude speed as a useful complement to Lingtian’s aerial attacks. When the brothers unite their recruits, the group totals thirteen members 14 17 23.

Intensive Training

With Instructor Qin’s assistance, Xiaotian obtains the unused northern martial training ground. He accepts responsibility for its maintenance and a three-year commitment, then establishes starters, substitutes, and regular coordination practice 23 24.

His practice matches test specific tactical problems rather than merely determine winners. He places the reserve team under numerical pressure, tests Bai Yu against Meng Ran’s defensive formation, and uses an endurance match to demonstrate Su Ran’s precise ration support 25 26 27.

Sunset Forest Soul Hunt

After Lingtian returns with newly refined pills, Xiaotian distributes them to the team and prepares a hunting party consisting of himself, Lingtian, Bai Yu, and Zhong Yue. Dugu Bo provides a map of suitable habitats and remains at the academy to watch the others 39 40 41.

Pursued by Soul Beasts in Sunset Forest, the party shelters in Dugu Bo’s poisonous miasma. There, Xiaotian coordinates the hunt for a Rending Wind Wolf King and kills it with Break the Surface at One Point. Its ten-thousand-year ring raises him to rank fifty-two 43 44.

The group then kills three Snake Fang Mercenary Corps survivors who threaten them. These are their first human killings. Xiaotian recognizes that another mercenary remains, but prioritizes getting his companions out rather than searching for him; the survivor memorizes their faces and abilities 45.

Appearance

Feng Xiaotian is tall and lean, with defined features, slightly tousled black hair, and a cool, sharp gaze 1.

  • Build: Broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and firm but non-bulky muscles developed through sustained training 3.
  • Clothing: Godwind Academy’s blue-green uniform, initially worn with a junior academy badge and sleeves rolled to his forearms 1.
  • Later uniform: At fifteen, wears three wind-patterned badges on his collar 17.
  • Martial Soul manifestation: Two phantom wolf heads appear above his shoulders, surrounded by bluish-gray Soul Power 7.

Personality

Xiaotian’s protectiveness is most visible around his younger brother. He delays his third Soul Ring to accompany Lingtian’s awakening, immediately embraces him afterward, and confronts Huo Wu when she dismisses his preparations. Even before Dugu Bo, he remains ready to intervene until Lingtian reassures him 1 5 30.

His care is usually practical rather than openly expressed. He regularly delivers medicine to his mother and guides Shi Yan’s cultivation for more than two years. When introducing Shi Yan to the team, he deliberately omits the boy’s painful family circumstances because they are private 17 41.

He values preparation over appearances. He accepts delaying breakthroughs to refine his foundation, studies a shield instead of reacting rashly to spectators’ mockery, and stops arena challenges once his rewards are secure 4 10 39.

As captain, he combines competition with reassurance. Early training allows substitutes to displace underperforming starters; later, he explicitly defines starting and reserve positions as tactical arrangements rather than a hierarchy of worth. He also encourages Lu Qing to reveal his hidden twin scythes and reassures Bai Yu when she worries about falling behind 23 24 48 49.

Abilities and Skills

Gale Twin-Headed Wolf

A top-tier beast Martial Soul suited to a wind-assisted, head-on power-attack style 1.

  • Manifests two wolf-head phantoms that can participate in attacks alongside his body 7.
  • Combines the Feng and Bai family bloodlines through fusion and mutation 2.
  • Becomes more solid and closely connected to his body after his third-ring absorption 7.

Wind Blade Techniques

His early Soul Skills produce cutting attacks made from wind-attribute Soul Power 7 10.

  • Wind Blade Slash — first Soul Skill: Forms a broad wind blade. Its distributed force offers coverage but initially fails to penetrate a Wind Rock Shield 10.
  • Wind’s Successive Arrows — second Soul Skill: Releases successive wind blades. Against the Gale Twin-Headed Wolf, Xiaotian directs seven cuts into the same point on its neck 7.

Gale Flash Step

A self-created movement technique that forms wind vortices beneath his feet for rapid, short-distance changes of position 4.

  • Supports high-frequency movement between multiple angles rather than only straight-line acceleration 4.
  • Requires exceptionally fine Soul Power control; repeated practice leaves him bruised before it becomes combat-ready 4.
  • Allows him to evade an arena opponent until the attacker exhausts himself 10.
  • Is later used by Feng Lingtian as well 20 42.

Wolf Shadow Clone

His third Soul Skill, obtained from the 2,500-year-old Gale Twin-Headed Wolf 7.

  • Uses two phantoms alongside his real body to pressure opponents from three directions 10.
  • Depends on controlled Soul Power distribution, which he explains to Cheng Luo 10.

Break the Surface at One Point

A self-created piercing technique developed while fighting a Wind Rock Shield user 10 44.

  • Compresses Soul Power into a narrow point instead of spreading it across a broad wind blade 10.
  • Initially shatters a shield that his ordinary Wind Blade Slash cannot break 10.
  • Can be focused through his fingertips and combined with Gale Flash Step, as demonstrated in his killing blow against the Rending Wind Wolf King 44.
  • Xiaotian teaches its fundamentals to Cheng Luo, who requires three days of questions to grasp them 44.

Wolf King · Wind-Rending Claw

His fifth Soul Skill, obtained from the ten-thousand-year Rending Wind Wolf King 44.

  • Forms a phantom wolf claw at his fingertips, with five trailing currents of wind.
  • Possesses greater penetrating power than any of his previous moves 44.

Leadership and Tactical Assessment

Xiaotian builds formations around individual specialties and combinations rather than treating every wind-related Martial Soul alike 19 49.

  • Assigns roles during Soul Beast hunts and coordinates attacks on exposed weak points 22 44.
  • Recognizes hidden potential, including Lu Qing’s concealed second blade 23 24.
  • Designs exercises to test pressure handling, precise support, defensive transitions, and endurance 25 26 27.
  • Keeps Jiang Lin concealed as a trump card and plans swift assault as the team’s first Soul Fighting Arena formation 49.

Equipment and Items

  • Portable Storage Soul Tool: Carries food, clean water, and medicinal supplies during excursions 11.
  • Foundation-Fortifying and Essence-Nurturing Powder: Supplied by Lingtian; protects his meridians during difficult Soul Ring absorptions and is also used to help Shi Yan 7 11 44.
  • Vajra Limit-Expansion Pill: Part of Lingtian’s team-wide treatment; expands the strength ceiling of power-attack and defense cultivators 40.
  • Arena champion token: Confirms his place in the intermediate academy’s weekly champion ranking after three consecutive victories 10.

Relationships

  • Feng Lingtian — Younger brother and closest collaborator. Lingtian redirects his cultivation path and supplies medicine, while Xiaotian leads their team and protects him without dismissing his judgment 1 4 23 30.
  • Feng Qingxuan — Father and Godwind Academy dean. Oversees his early physical training, advises foundation-building, and accompanies his third-ring hunt 3 4 7.
  • Bai Qingyin — Mother and source of his Bai family heritage. Xiaotian listens to her account of the family’s destruction and regularly brings her medicinal supplies 2 41.
  • Shi Yan — Protégé and teammate. Xiaotian secures his place at the academy and personally guides his cultivation; Shi Yan addresses him as “Brother Xiaotian” 11 17.
  • Cheng Luo — Teammate with whom he shares technical knowledge, including clone control and concentrated piercing attacks 10 44.
  • Lu Qing — Fellow power attacker. Xiaotian challenges him to stop concealing his twin scythes and recognizes his place in a two-power-attacker formation 24 49.
  • Bai Yu — Support teammate whose precise timing he tests in battle. He later reassures her when her cultivation lags behind the group 26 48.
  • Huo Wu — Their early interaction becomes hostile when she criticizes Lingtian. Xiaotian firmly defends his brother, diverging from the deferential behavior Lingtian remembers from the original course of events 1 5.
  • Instructor Qin — Academy supporter who helps secure the training ground and arrange a match against the advanced academy’s second-string team 23 26.
  • Dugu Bo — Senior adviser connected through Lingtian. Provides hunting guidance and agrees to watch the cultivators remaining at the academy 41.

Tournament Team

Xiaotian’s finalized roster contains seven regulars, including himself, and six substitutes. He states that deployment depends on the opponent, formation, and battlefield situation, and promises every member opportunities to compete 49.
