History

Academy Enrollment and Early Training

Zhong Yue arrives at the junior academy one day before Feng Lingtian and becomes his roommate alongside Lu Hanxiao; Su Ran is later shown occupying the fourth bed. Fascinated by Feng Lingtian’s medicinal furnace, he immediately asks about rank-raising pills and declares that he will stick with him 8 12.

His conduct during the first cross-country class draws Feng Lingtian’s attention as much as his third-place finish. Zhong Yue warns other freshmen about obstacles and physically helps those who react too slowly. Feng Lingtian acknowledges that he has helped them, prompting a quieter, more sincere smile than his earlier response to the crowd’s cheers 9.

During a later outdoor exercise, Zhong Yue leads the formation beside Jiang Lin, responsible for clearing the way and providing defense. When disguised outsiders interrupt the exercise, Jiang Lin’s shared vision reveals their positions. Zhong Yue’s example of standing in front of Bai Yu becomes part of Feng Lingtian’s resolve to protect his future teammates 16.

First Team Soul Hunt

After reaching level twenty, Zhong Yue joins the combined party assembled by the Feng brothers. On the southern route, he obtains his Second Soul Ring and immediately tests its offensive and defensive applications against a stronger green bamboo viper, assisted by Su Mei’er and Ji Ning 17 20.

In Poison Miasma Valley, he and Shi Yan draw the Jade Phosphorus Poison Python’s attention from the front. Zhong Yue continues advancing even as its venom damages his shell; Bai Yu’s enhancement reinforces both defenders while their teammates restrain and kill the python 22.

Intensive Team Training

He guards escape routes during the ring hunts and stands watch in front of Bai Yu while she absorbs her Second Soul Ring. During the subsequent pursuit by Soul Beasts, he covers the rear and withstands a collision from a two-thousand-year beast. He later blocks the Rending Wind Wolf King’s pounce during Feng Xiaotian’s fifth-ring hunt 42 43 44.

The wounded group encounters three surviving Snake Fang mercenaries and kills them together. Zhong Yue’s collision protects Bai Yu from immediate danger, but afterward he stares at his trembling shell patterns and struggles with what has happened. Bai Yu approaches him and silently offers water before the party leaves the forest 45.

Third Soul Ring and Arena Preparations

Zhong Yue is among the last three teammates still working toward level thirty. He breaks through during weighted training on the same evening as Cheng Luo, then completes his Third Soul Ring hunt and reports Wind Armor · Rebound to the team 48 49.

When Feng Xiaotian announces Soul Fighting Arena training to curb their lethal hunting instincts, Zhong Yue volunteers to pair with Bai Yu. She thanks him but postpones the decision until they can assess the arena’s actual conditions 50.
