| Peak of Body Forging | 26 27 | Already possessed strength comparable to Qingyang Huan when they met. Further advancement was blocked by his lack of a Divine Repository cultivation method. |
| Divine Treasure Realm | 33 34 | Advanced after receiving and choosing to cultivate the Blood Treasure Method, supported by pure blood Qi supplied by Qingyang. |

Background
Jin Wei’s unnamed tribe was destroyed by a band of other races when he was old enough to remember. A Qingyang Guard rescued him and his mother, but she later died protecting him from a ferocious beast while they were traveling toward the White Wolf Tribe. A golden ape, Jin Yuan, appeared at that time and subsequently raised him. The ape died one year before Jin Wei met Qingyang Huan 26.
Before her death, his mother told him that joining the Qingyang Guard would let him protect other children from the fate their tribe had suffered. This became his enduring ambition. His travels remained within roughly a hundred li of the White Wolf Tribe, where he learned that entering the Guard required Divine Treasure Realm cultivation—a realm he had no method to reach 26.
Appearance
Jin Wei is a sturdy, dark-skinned youth whose manner reflects his upbringing in the wilderness 26 31.
- Clothing: Wears beast hides; Qingyang Huan initially found him living in a cave like a ferocious beast 26.
- Mannerisms: Often scratches or rubs the back of his head and gives a simple, honest smile 31 35.
- Bloodline signs: Golden light appears within his blood Qi and eyes during awakening; its fuller manifestation takes the form of a powerful, long-tailed golden ape behind him 37 38.
Personality
Jin Wei is straightforward and inexperienced in dealing with people, initially speaking awkwardly when recounting his past. His ambition is protective rather than status-seeking: he wants to join the Qingyang Guard so that children will not be slaughtered by other races. He is gentle with Qingyang’s children, accepting their teasing nickname without resentment 26 31.
His simplicity does not make him immediately trusting. He repeatedly refuses to believe Qingyang Huan’s promise to bring him into the Guard, even after seeing a Qingyang-marked spear and being defeated in combat. Although he resents Huan’s coercive treatment, he still guards him during cultivation rather than abandoning him in danger 26 27.
In battle, his mild manner gives way to ruthless aggression. Growing up alongside Jin Yuan taught him to hold nothing back, leaving him poorly suited to restrained sparring. His continued attack on an already-defeated Huo Qiannian alarms the visiting tribes and makes Qingyang Huan fear that he might kill an opponent 36.
Abilities & Skills
Golden Ape Fist
Jin Wei’s principal close-combat technique concentrates his strength into a single point before releasing it explosively 29.
- Sends Yun He crashing through several trees while both are at the peak of Body Forging 29.
- Overpowers armed opponents with direct punches, including a newly advanced Divine Treasure Realm warrior using Crescent Moon Slash 35.
- Breaks through Huo Qiannian’s flames and shatters Yan Qiong’s defending arms and chest 36.
- Its Golden Ape Three Fists sequence leaves him drained after expenditure. A blood crystal supplied by Qingyang Huan rapidly restores enough blood Qi for another battle 35 36 37.
Jin Yuan Bloodline
An atavistic inheritance from a human ancestor who had obtained a Jin Yuan-related opportunity. Unlike Yun Caiyue’s inherited Azure Moon True Intent, Jin Wei’s awakening manifests as pure bloodline power 39.
- Strengthens his Golden Ape Fist during successive exchanges with Yun Caiyue 37.
- Produces a golden ape manifestation as he absorbs large quantities of blood Qi 38.
- Compensates for most of the deficiencies in his earlier Body Casting foundation 48.
- Allows him to sense a similar bloodline presence inside a cave in Great Locust Mountain 50.
Blood Treasure Method
A treasure-opening method obtained by Qingyang Jue from a demon he killed. It provides Jin Wei with a route beyond Body Forging without requiring access to Qingyang’s closely guarded ancestral methods 32 33.
- Its cultivation entails terrible pain that previous practitioners had failed to endure 32.
- Jin Wei chooses to cultivate it without hesitation, understanding the rarity of cultivation formulas 33.
- His later two-repository cultivation still lacks Repository Sources, prompting a search for suitable mutant beasts 43.
Wilderness Combat
Jin Wei’s experience fighting in the forests makes him a dangerous, decisive opponent 36.
- Coordinates with Qingyang Huan to kill a Divine Treasure Realm Earthwalking Dragon, punching an embedded spear deeper into its body before joining repeated hit-and-retreat attacks 26.
- Protects a cultivating companion from beasts attracted by blood 27.
- Weakness: His comparatively clumsy movement leaves him vulnerable to mobile, ranged attackers. Yan Qiong repeatedly wounds him with a flying finger bone before Jin Wei forces him into a corner 36.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Recruitment into Qingyang
Qingyang Huan recognizes Jin Wei’s unusual strength and offers to bring him into the Qingyang Guard. When persuasion fails, Huan repeatedly fights him and exhausts his blood Qi whenever he tries to leave. After half a month, the reluctant pair are hunting together and cooperate to bring down an Earthwalking Dragon 26.
During their return, Jin Wei helps defeat the Wandering Cloud youths Yun Yang and Yun He, then carries the unconscious captives to Qingyang Mountain. Only upon arrival does he finally realize that Huan’s promise to take him to Qingyang was genuine 29 31.
Because Qingyang’s elders will not readily teach an outsider their inherited cultivation arts, Huan obtains the separate Blood Treasure Method from his father. Jin Wei accepts it and enters cultivation with the tribe’s support 32 33.
Contest Against the Four Tribes
Qingyang Jue selects Jin Wei to represent Qingyang against the Golden Spear, Fire Dragon, Inkstone Mountain, and Wandering Cloud tribes. The decision provokes objections from elders and youths who still consider him an outsider. More than a dozen youths confront him at his courtyard and are beaten by his fists 34 35.
On the battle platform, Jin Wei defeats successive challengers, including Jin Yang, another Golden Spear warrior, Huo Qianqiu, Huo Qiannian, and Yan Qiong. He fights in Qingyang Huan’s place out of gratitude for receiving a treasure-opening method 35 36.
After replenishing his blood Qi, he steps forward again to face Yun Caiyue. Her Azure Moon True Intent pushes him into a fierce exchange that triggers his bloodline awakening. His fist collides with her Moon Burial technique, leaving both injured and Jin Wei gravely wounded 37.
His performance earns the wholehearted respect of Qingyang’s youths. Qingyang Jue takes him back for treatment, while Qingyang Rong adds precious beast bones to the blood-essence vat supporting his awakening. Jue identifies the resulting manifestation as the Jin Yuan Bloodline 38.
Journey Toward La Mountain
Jin Wei later travels south with Qingyang Huan to find a mutant beast suitable for his Divine Repositories. Their journey takes them into Great Locust Mountain, where they escape giant apes and a winged python, then cooperate to capture the purple marten Zi’er 43 45 46.
Near the Red-Eyed Apes’ territory, Jin Wei senses something inside a cave with a bloodline presence similar to his own. Qingyang Huan stops him from exposing their position, and they hide before using outsiders’ battle with the ape king as cover to approach the cave 50.
Relationships
