Redemption Seven Stages (Eighth of Ten Updates)
(President Gu, the eighth update is here!)
When Mu Fan woke up hungry the next day and went down to look for the front desk, Su Xiaomi was nowhere to be seen.
But I'm so hungry, what should I do? It looks like I'll have to go out and find some food myself.
Ten minutes later, Mu Fan appeared in a fast food restaurant, holding Sky Communicator, eating and talking to Fatty on the phone.
"Mu Fan, is everything settled on your end?" The chubby guy, wearing a floral shirt and sunglasses, was leisurely video chatting with Mu Fan, sipping his drink as he said, "A District is near the beach, and Brother Fatty is sunbathing right now. Want to join us? Let's enjoy some last moments of leisure before the exams."
After catching his breath, Mu Fan stuffed the last bite of rice into his mouth and said to Sky Communicator, "No, I still have things to take care of here. I need to prepare for the exam that's about to start."
The fat man shook his head smugly, subtly moved his Sky Communicator to face behind him, and gestured with his chin. "See? There's a beauty over here. Come to A District, let Brother Fatty show you around."
"Not interested."
"You're really unlucky. You can handle it yourself first. I'll send you your admission ticket. We're both in A District. Although we're not in the same exam room, the exam centers are very close to each other. It starts promptly at 9 a. m. the day after tomorrow. Don't forget."
"Okay, I received it, don't worry." Mu Fan looked down and saw that there was indeed an unread message. He hadn't planned to take the regular exam in the first place, but he didn't expect that Fatty was still thinking about him. But after thinking about it, Mu Fan could only lie to Fatty.
"Mu Fan, age 17, from Luoqie Star, applying to Landu Star Red Leaf Academy, Rank B." Mu Fan smiled after looking at the image information that appeared above.
Landu Star wants to go, but not to this Red Leaf Academy.
With only two days left, the Army Reserve Special Recruitment was just a thought that made Mu Fan's palms sweat – a sign of extreme excitement.
Suddenly, my wrist jerked, and a message appeared on my watch.
"Mu Fan, go back to the hotel and log into the PO Battle Network."
The message from Black indicated that Black had left home without a headset, and this was the only way Black could notify Black, suggesting that something was indeed wrong.
When Mu Fan returned to his room and put on his Optical Brain Helmet, Hei appeared before him.
"What's wrong, Hei? Is something the matter?"
"Although the forum misses me, no, it misses you, let's stop the paid live streams for the next couple of days. I called you back, but it wasn't me, it was that old geezer from Fighter. He has something to say to you. See you at the usual place." With that, Black hurriedly disappeared.
Mu Fan stared at Hei, who had disappeared so hastily, feeling bewildered. Hei seemed to have more complex emotions now, but also to be more unreliable.
Little did he know that Hei was rushing back to the forum and getting into a heated argument with a group of players.
"The original poster ran away, yet still dares to charge fees." This was a malicious attack from a peripheral player.
"The poor guy upstairs should shut up. The video is great, and we're happy to pay for it."
"I agree with the comment above; I learned a lot of technical skills!"
"I've learned a lot too, and I'm going to teach girls who know how to do aerobics."
"Lord Black: Please support me!"
Suddenly the original poster replied, and the players started chatting again.
"How can I support you?" This was a new player who was drawn in by the post's popularity, and found the conversation even more interesting after joining.
"Besides paying to watch videos, you can also tip? The more you support me, the more I can try out different positions!" Hei's tone became even more smug.
"I like even more dirty tricks, hahaha. So, how much should I tip?"
"I wouldn't mind if you sold your house, car, and wife to give me a reward, [shyly]" Lord Black can now skillfully add emoticons.
"That's so despicable!"
While Hei Zheng was having a great time arguing with a group of players, Mu Fan had already teleported back to Base 341. He had just finished selecting combat training when he noticed a shadow suddenly standing there.
An elusive Fighter Instructor!
A tattered cloak now covered his entire body, and a spinning metal rod in the Fighter's hand was faintly visible. Seeing that short rod, Mu Fan suddenly recalled the nightmare of being killed multiple times. Was he planning to be killed a few more times before the exam?
"Hello, Instructor, you wanted to see me?" Mu Fan greeted him respectfully. He always felt that this instructor was much more knowledgeable than Hei, but it seemed that the instructor could not leave this Training Camp.
"Hmm." The Fighter nodded, his eyes burning like green flames.
Then a hoarse voice rang out. "You're preparing to take... an exam?"
Mu Fan nodded; it seemed that Hei had already spoken to the Fighter.
Do you know what kind of exam it is?
"Army Reserve Special Recruitment"
"Army Reserve Special Recruitment the Star River Federation Army Reserve is a joint project Federation and the military. Applicants must be no older than 20 and meet Physical Standard of level 15 or higher. This round of applications has 8,169 qualified applicants, and the final 100 will be selected. This is a special recruitment for the Federation Army, with physical fitness being the top priority, so the assessment does not involve other knowledge."
The short stick swirling in the Fighter's hand appeared and disappeared intermittently, the sound of the wind it created making his words seem somewhat ethereal.
"Therefore, I need to give you two days of special training before the exam." The Fighter raised his head, his eerie green light staring directly at Mu Fan, somewhat dazzling.
"What kind of special training?" Mu Fan didn't understand what the Fighter was referring to.
"Weapon training! Now that the Dark Breath has almost fully integrated with you, it's time to teach you some martial arts techniques," the Fighter said slowly.
With a flick of his left hand, the Fighter produced a short stick that looked the same but was slightly thinner. He tossed it casually, Mu Fan caught it. It was surprisingly heavy!
Mu Fan clasped his hands across his chest, waiting to speak.
"Why don't you use a stick on the battlefield? Because a stick is a melee weapon, not a killing weapon. To kill someone, you only need a light touch with a knife, but you need to use ten times the force to kill them with a stick." With a strange charm, the low, husky voice was easy to understand.
Therefore, your weapon can only be a stick.
"My standard is that when you can achieve the same effect with the same force, you have completed the course."
"I checked the data on the PO Battle Network. Currently, the Star River Federation's territory spans 62 light-years, encompassing hundreds of star systems of varying sizes, and has tens of thousands of inhabited planets." The Metal Short Rod danced and spun in his hand.
"The resident life forms within the Federation are humans. There are special races, but they are only one in a thousand genetically abnormal."
"Therefore, you must master all the fatal weaknesses of human beings."
Mu Fan listened quietly. The Fighter waved his left hand again, and a three-dimensional human anatomy diagram appeared in the space.
The short stick in his right hand spun and alternated, striking Mu Fan's forehead, then below his ear, and quickly tapped him dozens of times. Mu Fan Mu Fan n't react, obediently watching the marks left by the Metal Short Rod.
Have you written everything down?
After thinking for a moment, Mu Fan was surprised to find that he clearly remembered the traces left by the Fighter.
"Now I'm going to teach you a matching martial art, called Redemption."
The Fighter whispered beneath his cloak, his eyes filled with a world-weary wisdom, flashing back images he had never forgotten.
I will keep moving forward.
I will erase the nightmarish past
Heavy burden on my shoulders
I will be redeemed
