As evening fell, the sky was dotted with stars.
In the backyard of the small villa, several pillars stood on an open space, with a few lamps hanging from them. The light was a warm yellow, and with the charcoal fire in the middle, it looked very cozy.
Gu Wancheng and her group sat down around the charcoal fire, not too close, as it was still a bit hot.
The prepared ingredients were placed on a table next to them.
"What should we bake first?" Bo Yizhou turned to look at Gu Wancheng and asked.
"Let's grill some pork belly and chicken wings," Gu Wancheng said.
Bo Yizhou nodded, picked up some ingredients with his chopsticks and put them on the grill. Of course, the others wouldn't just watch him do it alone, so they also picked out some ingredients to grill.
Chu Yi'an poured everyone a cup of lime and lemon tea, which was chilled in the refrigerator and tasted even better.
The kids gulped down their cups in one go, then held out their cups to indicate they wanted more.
Gu Wancheng rubbed Chaochao's belly and poured him half a glass. "You can't drink so much, or you won't be able to eat any meat later."
Chaochao blinked, carefully took a sip and held it in her mouth, nodding vigorously.
"Mom, is it ready?" Mi Tu looked longingly at the sizzling, shrunken pork belly.
"It should be fine, right?" Xu Xiashi glanced at it and said uncertainly.
"It's ready." Wen Qifeng up a lettuce leaf, wrapped a piece of pork belly inside, and handed it to Mi Tu. "Be careful, it's hot."
"Mmm." Mi Tu's eyes crinkled into a smile. She gently blew on them a few times, carefully took a bite, and then her eyes lit up.
"Tasty!"
Seeing how much she enjoyed her food, the other children couldn't resist and all looked longingly at their adult.
Bo Yizhou also picked up two pieces for the two children, and they both stuffed them into their mouths in a surprisingly synchronized motion.
Chaochao ate with his mouth full of oil and couldn't stop talking. Gu Wancheng felt guilty and fed a few pieces to the people serving them.
President Bo smiled contentedly as his wife fed him. The warm yellow light shone on his face, captivating Gu Wancheng, who was completely mesmerized by him.
[I've seen it in her eyes, Chengcheng's a bit love-struck.]
[I have something to tell you all. I think you guys are very talented in acting. How about this, I'll fund it, and the three of us can make a movie called "Burning Winter."]
[Upstairs, I could hear your scheme even in Antarctica.]
[Real or fake, are you really in Antarctica?]
[Regarding this matter, the truth cannot be hidden, and falsehood cannot be made true.]
[What are you talking about? I don't understand!]
[I think this is unreasonable. For example, why does one equal three? It's like asking why Baili Shouyue's cooking is so delicious, and why his teammates are so bad.]
[Read and replied randomly?]
As Jian Yue reached out, a flash of silver streaked across her wrist.
Chu Yi'an handed her a chicken wing, Jian Yue accepted very naturally.
Cheng Yan, who was serving Zuozuo, rolled his eyes so hard they almost reached the sky.
Xu Yuan remained silent, shrinking to the side without uttering a word, her mind racing with rage. There were people on both sides! Help me! Oh my god! Save the child!
I popped a piece of roasted ham into my mouth, and my eyes lit up – it smelled amazing!
Bo Yizhou and Gu Wancheng took turns feeding Chaochao, occasionally stuffing her with a bite.
Chen Liqing sat not far away, munching on a cold steamed bun, his face full of resentment. He stared intently at their cheerful laughter, as if a dark cloud had appeared above his head and was pouring rain.
--
"Wow!" Chaochao got up early this morning to go for a run with Bo Yizhou.
The cool morning air rushed towards them, Chaochao excitedly opened her mouth, letting the icy air flow into it.
Bo Yizhou slowed down, completely exasperated by Chaochao's actions.
"Don't open your mouth."
Chaochao looked up at him in confusion, her eyes filled with innocent naiveté.
Bo Yizhou's eye twitched; this kid was getting more and more foolish.
"No means no."
Chaochao puffed out her cheeks, snorted, and shut her mouth.
As they left, the window of the Jian Yue room opened, and he stood by the window, watching them, his eyes filled with admiration.
Suddenly, a figure appeared behind him, wrapped its arms around his waist, rested its chin on his left shoulder, and followed his gaze. "You want to go?"
Jian Yue Yi shook her head vigorously, "Getting up early in the morning to go for a run? Impossible."
"Where's the chain?" When Jian Yue, I realized the anklet was gone. I looked for it but couldn't find it.
"Here." Chu Yi'an raised his hand, released it, and a silver chain appeared before his eyes. As he gently shook it, a clear bell rang out.
Chu Yi'an took his hand and put the chain on his wrist.
Peace and tranquility prevail here.
On the other side, Gu Wancheng groggily opened one eye. There was no one beside her, so she knew that the perverted father and son had gone out for a run again.
That's terrifying.
Gu Wancheng pulled the blanket tighter and continued sleeping.
"Brother Cheng Yan, how did I end up here?" Zuozuo got up and found that he had moved to another place, looking completely bewildered.
Seeing that it was Cheng Yan sleeping next to him, not Jian Yue, he asked blankly.
Cheng Yan frowned, opened his eyes impatiently, and said in a hoarse voice, still sleepy, "Your brother doesn't want you anymore."
Zuozuo was shocked, "Really!"
Cheng Yan rolled over. "Really, go to sleep, or I'll throw you out."
Zuozuo was still in a daze, so she obediently shrank into the blanket and covered herself up.
"Dad, the sun's already high in the sky!" Chaochao wanted to jump onto the bed as soon as she entered the room, but then she suddenly remembered that she had almost crushed her dad before, so she stopped herself.
Gu Wancheng covered her ears as she heard the buzzing sound in them.
The next second, Chaochao pulled her away. Gu Wancheng opened her eyes helplessly, glanced out the window, and saw no sun.
Aren't you going to take a shower?
I'll wash it later.
"Chao ah~" Gu Wancheng suddenly spoke, drawing out the last syllable, which earned her a puzzled look from Chaochao.
"Why did you get up so early?" Gu Wancheng didn't understand, but she respected.
"It'll help me exercise, so I can pick up Suisui. I can't even lift him, I'm so weak," Chaochao immediately said.
What a noble ambition!
"Come on."
"Uh-huh."
Gu Wancheng didn't want to talk to this love-struck little guy anymore. Just then, Bo Yizhou came out of the shower, and she quickly sent him to take a shower as well.
"What's wrong?" Bo Yizhou walked over and asked softly.
Where does Chaochao's love-struck mind come from?
What?
After realizing what was happening, Bo Yizhou frowned slightly. "I don't know. My brother and sister-in-law are both quite love-struck."
It seems to be a family trait.
"Does Chaochao have any other relatives?" Gu Wancheng didn't quite understand why Chaochao was adopted by Bo Yizhou.
Bo Yizhou was taken aback, lowered his eyes, and said, "My eldest brother's family are all wolves and tigers. Back then, they wanted to fight for custody of Chaochao and get my eldest brother's inheritance. They even fought each other at my eldest brother and sister-in-law's funeral. Their behavior was disgusting."
At this point, Bo Yizhou's eyes were filled with disgust.
"Adopting Chaochao was my parents' suggestion. It just so happens that I won't have any children in the future, and it also prevents Chaochao, an infant, from falling into the hands of those wolves. Given the Bo Family's status, they naturally wouldn't dare to make a move. Besides, my eldest brother wasn't originally a member of the Bo Family; he was adopted. It's perfectly reasonable for the main family to adopt a child from a collateral branch, and they can't use blood relations to their advantage. They're just distant relatives from a great distance."
"Does Chaochao know?" Gu Wancheng, looking at the closed bathroom door after hearing this.
"Know."
