"That's indeed a very good idea. The Evil Sunz Fleet's advantages are speed and maneuverability."

"But in the asteroid belt, their advantages are completely ineffective."

"If they ignore these fortifications and attack Carl II directly, they will be attacked from behind by the fortifications."

"But due to insufficient firepower, they found it difficult to quickly clear these fortifications."

"This forced them to abandon their speed advantage and be dragged into the most unfavorable type of battle: siege warfare."

Dominic turned his head and looked at Lynn, his eyes filled with admiration:

You always manage to surprise me.

"This commander named Gus is quite good."

Lynn smiled but didn't say anything.

Gus certainly did not disappoint him.

He did not adhere to traditional defensive tactics, but instead adapted to local conditions, utilizing the asteroid belt around Carl II to create this " Iron Thorns " defense line.

This defensive line perfectly countered the Evil Sunz Clan's fighting style.

No wonder the vanguard of the Evil Sunz arrived three days later, yet the Carl II suffered virtually no damage.

"However, this defensive line also has a fatal flaw," Dominic said, his smile fading and his tone becoming serious.

"It can only deal with small, fast fleets like the Evil Sunz."

"Once Ragnar's main fleet arrives, these makeshift fortresses will be as flimsy as paper in the face of heavy artillery."

"I know." Lynn nodded.

"But Gus only needs to hold out for three days. After three days, our reinforcements will arrive."

Dominic glanced at Lynn but said nothing.

He walked to the command platform, looked at the densely packed Orks dots on the holographic star map, and fell into deep thought.

After a while, he looked up and said into the communicator, "Pass on my orders."

"All warships shut down their engines, maintain radio silence, and hide in the shadow of the asteroid behind Carl II. Do not be detected by the Evil Sunz Fleet."

"My lord?" came the surprised voice of the guard captain from the communicator.

"Shouldn't we just attack directly? With our strength, annihilating these Evil Sunz fleets would be a piece of cake."

"No." Dominic shook his head.

"Now is not the time. Our target is not these small fry, but the big fish, Ragnar."

"If I reveal my strength now, Ragnar might fight me a war of attrition."

But I want to give him a surprise.

Dominic gave a confident smile.

" Kerry, come with me aboard Carl II to meet your genius commander."

"No!" the guard captain immediately objected.

"Too dangerous! The Carl II is now surrounded by Evil Sunz patrol boats. What if we're discovered..."

"Don't worry." Dominic patted him on the shoulder.

"No one can stop me. Besides, only by going to the front lines myself can I understand the true situation of the battle."

After saying that, he turned and walked out of the bridge without waiting for the captain of the guard to say anything more.

Ralfa, like a silent shadow, immediately followed.

Dozens of elite Ventria guards followed closely behind.

Lynn watched their departing figures and shook his head helplessly.

This noble major general really does whatever comes to mind.

Half an hour later, an inconspicuous little shuttle sped out of the Gemstone's hangar.

The shuttle turned off all the lights and glided through the dark universe relying solely on inertia.

It cleverly avoided the patrol routes of the Evil Sunz Fleet, passed through gaps in the asteroid belt, and flew towards the surface of the Carl II.

The whole process was thrilling but ultimately safe.

When the shuttle landed on the surface of Carl II, Gus was already there with a squad of soldiers waiting for it.

"Lord Dominic, welcome!" Gus strode forward and gave a respectful military salute.

He wore a military uniform stained with oil and dust, and had a fresh scar on his face, but his eyes were unusually bright.

"Commander Gus." Dominic returned the salute, looking him up and down.

"Your Star Fortress tactics were brilliant."

"Thank you for the compliment, sir." Gus smiled modestly. "It's all thanks to the Governor's excellent teaching."

Dominic smiled but didn't say anything.

"Come on, take me to your command center."

"Yes!"

Gus's command center was located in what was originally Chandler's laboratory on Carl II.

The laboratory was converted into a makeshift command center, with the walls covered with various maps and display screens.

Dozens of communications soldiers sat in front of the control console, busily working.

The air was thick with the smell of sweat; the entire circulation system and power supply of Carl II had not yet been fully repaired.

Compared to the luxurious bridge of the Gemstone, this place couldn't even be called a slum.

The Expeditionary Force held out for Carl II under such difficult conditions.

But Dominic showed no disdain; instead, he felt a sense of respect for him.

He walked up to the holographic star map, looked at the Orks fleet's movements marked on it, and listened attentively to Gus's report.

"The vanguard of the Evil Sunz Clan consisted of 237 warships, led by a big guy named Run Fast Mao Ke."

"Their primary objective was reconnaissance and harassment; they were not equipped with heavy weapons."

"We have a total of 172 temporary fortresses, of which 23 have already been destroyed."

"At the same time, our casualties were very low, with a kill ratio of 1:128."

Upon hearing this casualty ratio, Dominic couldn't help but look at Gus with even greater respect.

"According to our reconnaissance, Ragnar's main fleet is expected to arrive tomorrow morning."

Gus pointed to a red dot on the star map and continued, "Their flight path is very clear; they're heading directly for Carl II, without any sign of detours."

Dominic nodded; this was very much in line with the Orks's style.

Especially when they have an overwhelming numerical advantage, they don't bother with any tricks.

"Very good," Dominic said. "You've done an excellent job. Leave the rest to us."

"You continue to hold the defensive line and do not launch any offensive attacks."

"Then, those Orks will pay the price for their arrogance."

"Yes, sir!" Gus nodded.
