Arc 17The Gate of Calamity
Dominic fought the Nurgle fleet while Lynn and Rena battled Luna’s forces beneath St. Garus. Luna’s Gate of Calamity unleashed daemons and triggered Chaos rituals across Brevis, leaving a huge, regenerating flesh growth threatening the city as orbital support was called in.
- Dominic’s fleet encountered the Nurgle fleet, avoided its infected ships as bait, and destroyed the Pale Rose with incendiary shells made from holy relics and clergy remains.
- Sorine warned Dominic that the Pale Hand’s consciousness had escaped aboard the Gemstone, and Dominic ordered a search of the corrupted H4 Living Area.
- Rena gave Guyu a spinal greatsword that let her defeat the Chaos Knights and break Luna’s Nine-Sided Spirit-Sealing Barrier as Lynn’s forces attacked it from outside.
- Luna opened the Gate of Calamity beneath St. Garus, unleashing daemons that battered the Vanguard and forced Lynn’s troops to retreat before their heavy weapons pushed the attackers back.
- Luna distorted gravity on the spiral staircase, sent daemons and Chaos Knights toward the midcity, and activated her agents in the recruitment camps.
- Bishop Jensen took command of the camp purifications, and Cecilia’s squads destroyed altars in eight factories while Quirk transformed into a Khorne-blessed killer and slaughtered Agnes’s squad and three Purestrain Genestealers.
- Bishop Jensen discovered that the nine factory altars formed one ritual network as Warp Rifts opened across the camps and a rapidly regenerating flesh growth erupted between them.
- Isolde approved an orbital lance strike from Commodore Griffith’s warship after William’s artillery and the Priests’ purification fire failed to stop the growth.
