The group entered a chessboard trial, where an enemy deception forced Mu Fusheng to reveal his strength while his companions faced a possible encirclement.

• Xiao Hei mastered reincarnation with Lu Changsheng’s protection, received the Nether Lord of the Six Realms’ inheritance, and gained Gu Sheng as his bonded attendant.
• Xiao Shitou obtained the Dijiang fragment, and Ye Qiubai destroyed Ning Zhou with the Azure Cloud Sword before taking the Torch Dragon fragment.
• Ye Qiubai, Xiao Shitou, Zhan Qing, and Qi Wu used four remnant pages to reveal the Heaven Rod, and Xiao Shitou killed Zhan Qing after mastering deeper spatial attacks.

After Azure Firmament Academy won the God Ascension Ruins, Lu Changsheng investigated a Classic of Mountains and Seas fragment at Phoenix Cry Sect and found Xu Yeming trying to use phoenix fire to save his parents. Xu Yeming became Lu Changsheng’s disciple, and Lu Changsheng and Huang Qian healed his parents, leaving Xu Canghai asking about Lu Changsheng’s origins.

• Mu Fusheng killed Shen Han with Purple Firmament Divine Lightning, reunited with Ye Qiubai and the others, and helped secure Azure Firmament Academy’s progress through the God Ascension Ruins.
• Ye Qiubai and the others refused the God Ascension Platform’s offer of nine lightning tribulations, while Jiang Yousheng and Fu Yuan accepted it and Qi Wu killed them after Jiang threatened the group.
