| Body Tempering Ninth Grade | 11 | Had reached this grade well before confronting Lin Feng. His full-force surprise punch only made Lin Feng stumble a few steps without apparent injury. |
Background
Chen Wen was one year older than Chen Qiang. Although strong enough to have left the Third Martial School, he remained there to compete for a place at Jiangnan First Martial University 11.
He knew that Chen Qiang intended to use Lin Feng as a meat shield during the wilderness trial and wholeheartedly approved. He regarded ordinary people as expendable sacrifices for those of his own status 11.
Personality
Chen Wen was arrogant and intensely conscious of social standing. He considered Lin Feng a lowborn inferior, resented being ignored by him, and treated his own defeat as an intolerable humiliation. After the beating, he stopped attending school because he felt too ashamed to return 11 12 41.
His threats quickly gave way to panic when he realized Lin Feng genuinely intended to kill him. He fled and begged for mercy, then resumed taunting Lin Feng when Wu Xiao arrived to protect him 12 13.
Although Chen Wen repeatedly demanded revenge for Chen Qiang, his resentment was primarily personal. The narration explicitly states that he cared little about his brother’s death compared with his desire to kill Lin Feng 17.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Confrontation After the Wilderness Trial
Chen Wen stopped Lin Feng near the trial’s gathering point and demanded Chen Qiang’s whereabouts. Lin Feng claimed that a mutant beast had eaten him. Enraged that Lin Feng had survived, Chen Wen attacked him from behind 11.
Lin Feng retaliated, breaking Chen Wen’s breastbone. Chen Wen initially threatened revenge, but fled when he recognized Lin Feng’s determination to kill him. He collapsed from his injuries and begged for mercy 12 13.
Wu Xiao intervened, drawing Lin Feng into a fight. Chen Wen escaped while Lin Feng defeated the teacher. Back home, he accused Lin Feng of possibly killing Chen Qiang and urged Chen Ao to avenge them; Chen Ao subsequently commissioned Black Fox to assassinate Lin Feng 16 17.
Revenge Attempt and Vandalism
Chen Wen assigned a lackey to watch for Lin Feng’s return. Once informed that Lin Feng had reappeared at school, he enlisted Uncle Fu’s help without notifying Chen Ao and went to Lin Feng’s home 41.
Finding it empty, Chen Wen smashed the furnishings. Before leaving, he kicked a sofa into a photograph of Lin Feng and Lin Fu, shattering its frame 41.
Capture and Death
Lin Feng identified Chen Wen in surveillance footage and confronted him at the Chen Clan villa. Chen Wen welcomed the confrontation, believing Lin Feng had delivered himself to his death. Uncle Fu stopped him from admitting responsibility for the photograph and took the blame instead 43.
After Lin Feng defeated Uncle Fu, Chen Wen called his father and tried to flee. Lin Feng killed Uncle Fu, then kicked a stone through Chen Wen’s torso and captured him alive 44.
Lin Feng carried the dying Chen Wen outside Yang City to draw Chen Ao away from the city. When Chen Ao arrived and demanded his release, Lin Feng blew Chen Wen’s body apart with Primordial Power. Chen Ao attacked in response and was subsequently killed as well 45 46.
